Aunt Jo is survived by over 100 nieces and nephews, including great and great-great.  She never married, but had helped so many friends and family members in need both financially and spiritually.  When she would receive calls from her family, she would say “Oh!  You’re my favorite.”, and we would joke about it.

She is preceded in death by her musically talented family: her father, Pasquale Nardulli (mandolin & French horn), her mother Antonina, nee Mancuso, siblings Joe, Orlando (both professional violinists), Gertrude (violin), Mary (piano & voice), & Frank (flute).  Jo wanted to play the saxophone, but her mom was afraid it would enlarge her lips and cheeks.  So when the rest of the family performed for guests, she would do somersaults & dance moves.

At age 14, Aunt Jo went to work at Brach’s Candy Company.  When the company discovered her true age, she was made to finish her schooling but they still allowed her work.  She worked for 49 years for Brach’s as Supervisor of Quality Control and had a staff of 35 women.

Josephine lived independently for 95 years.  At Beacon Hill, where she was given excellent care and love, she was known as “JoJo” and one to provide laughter.  She will be surely missed, especially her wonderful sense of humor.
