Victor Svein Mortensen, age 69, of Glen Ellyn,

Friday, May 27th, 2011

Victor Svein Mortensen, age 69, of Glen Ellyn, died May 26 at home.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 28, at Brust Funeral Home  135 S. Main St. Lombard from 9 A.M. until Funeral Service 1PM.

Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Glen Ellyn.

Mr. Mortensen is survived by his wife, Gloria nee Mack; a daughter-in-law, Terra of Lombard; two brothers, Frank (Charmaine) of Lombard & Hans Willy (Janet) of TN; a sister, Laila (Charles Michael) Potts of Lombard; grandson, Kyle of Lombard and 10 nieces and nephews.

Mr. Mortensen is preceded in death by two sons, Karl and Gordon; and his parents, Rev. Hans Mortensen and Wilhelmine.

Mr. Mortensen  was born in Norway. He resided in Glen Ellyn since 1988 and was formerly of Lombard. He was co-owner of VFN Fiberglass in Addison since 1969.  He was a member of Midwest Street Rod Association and the National Hot Rod Association. He made fiberglass race car parts. He also worked in Commercial Construction and was a 49 year member of the Carpenter’s Union, Local 58, Chicago.

MICHAEL R. ROSALES, age 39, of Lombard, died May 22 at his home.

Mr. Rosales is survived by his parents, Roberto M. and Maria M., nee Marmalejo; two brothers, Jose (Luisa) of Texas and Israel (Yolanda) of Aurora; seven (7) nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mr. Rosales was a resident of Lombard for 30 years.

MARY R. GALLICCHIO, nee Floodas, age 61, of Lombard, died May 20 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, Illinois.

Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday, May 22 from 2 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Memorial Mass will be held Monday, May 23 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard.

Interment Private.

Mrs. Gallicchio is survived by her husband, Rich; her son, Jason of Massachusetts; her daughter, Nicole of Lombard; two brothers, Jack ‘Bob’ (Penny) Floodas of Texas, and James (Pai) of Thailand; and 4 nieces and nephews.

 

Mrs. Gallicchio was a resident of Lombard since 1976.  She was an Administrative Assistant at GB&A in Elk Grove since 1977.  Mrs. Gallicchio was a member of the Lombard Rotary Anns.  Mrs. Gallicchio was an avid reader, learning something new each day.

FRANK BERESNIEWICZ, age 75, of Lombard, died May 11 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, Illinois.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 15 from 5 to 9 PM at Brust Funeral Home,135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Funeral Service will be Monday with prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home to St. Pius X Church for 10:00 AM Mass

Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.

Mr. Beresniewicz is survived by his wife, Dorothy, nee Biesterfeldt; three daughters, Debbie Littrell of Lombard, Renee (Steve) Kramp of Aurora, and Sharon (Christopher) Bauman of Lombard; eight (8) Grandchildren; four (4) Great-Grandchildren; his brother, Fred of Crystal Lake; his sister, Chris (Jerry) Kolbusz of Algonquin; many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Beresniewicz is preceded in death by his son, Mark T.

Mr. Beresniewicz was a resident of Lombard for 33 years.  He had retired from G.E. as a Field Engineer for X-Ray Machines.  Mr. Beresniewicz was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the 1950’s in the 10th Mountain Division.  He was a member of American Legion 391 in Lombard.  Mr. Beresniewicz enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening, and jewelry making.

THOMAS ‘MICK’ GRUBISICH, U.S. Navy Corpsman with 1st Marine Division WW II, age 87, of Lombard

THOMAS ‘MICK’ GRUBISICH, U.S. Navy Corpsman with 1st Marine Division WW II, age 87, of Lombard, died May 9 at Lexington Healthcare, Lombard, Illinois.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 12 from 2 to 8:30 P.M. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Funeral Service will be held Friday with Mr. Grubisich Lying-in-State from 10 A.M. until the time of Service at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church York Center, Roosevelt and Meyers Roads, Lombard.

Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois.

Mr. Grubisich is survived by his wife, Esther, nee Zielke; two sons, Vernon (Mairead) of Evanston, Norman (Bonnie) of Villa Park; six (6) Grandchildren, Peter, Amy (Matthew), Jessica (Dave), Matthew, Tatiana (Tim) and Anna; and nine (9) Great-Grandchildren.

Mr. Grubisich was a Veteran having served as Corpsman with the 1st Marine Division in the Pacific during World War II at Guadalcanal and Okinawa.  He was a resident of Lombard for 17 years during the 1960’s and 1970’s before moving to St. Augustine, Florida.  In 1983, he moved to Orland Park and then back to Lombard the last 3 years.  Mr. Grubisich had retired in 1982 as a Salesman for Robert Bosch Company in Broadview selling power tools.  He was a Life member of DAV and a member of the DAV Commanders Club.  He had been wounded in World War II and received two (2) Presidential Citations.

NORMA JEAN SPARACIO, age 63, of Lombard, died May 7 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 12 from 3 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 13 with prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home to St. Pius X Church for 10:00 AM Mass.

Interment will be at Elmlawn Cemetery, Elmhurst, Illinois.

Mrs. Sparacio is survived by three children, Michael of Lake Geneva, Angela (Ray) Coppola of St. Charles, and Anthony of Lombard; three grandchildren, Taylor, Michael, and Isabella Coppola; her sister, Sandra (Roy) Rehfeldt of Lake-In-The Hills; and her dear friend, Carlo Lantoni of Oak Park.

 

Mrs. Sparacio was a resident of Lombard for over 40 years.  She had worked at Oak Brook Healthcare Center for over 20 years.  Mrs. Sparacio loved being with her grandchildren.  She loved to crochet for hours and with friends.  Mrs. Sparacio was very devoted to and loved her cats.

Arlene J. McGinn nee Makovsky, age 77, of Lombard, died May 5 at home.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 10, from 4 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St. Lombard.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 11, at 10AM at Brust Funeral Home.

Interment will be Wednesday at Chapel Hill Gardens West. Oakbrook Terrace, IL.

Mrs. McGinn is survived by her husband, Melvin T. McGinn of Lombard; her children:  Richard T. (Nancy) of Winfield, and Kathy McGinn of Lombard; and her grandchildren:  Nicholas T. McGinn and Sarah J. McGinn.

Mrs. McGinn had been a resident of Lombard 49 years.  She grew up in Cicero and worked as a secretary for many years in Naperville.  She and her husband had been married 58 years.  She enjoyed listening to her granddaughter play the piano, doing cross-stitch, traveling to visit family, cooking, and doting on her grandchildren.
