Curtis L. Chrisman, age 91 of Lombard,

Curtis L. Chrisman, age 91 of Lombard, Illinois passed away June 27, 2011 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  He has been a resident at Lexington Healthcare since December, 2010.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward L. Chrisman of Rockford, IL  and is survived by his wife, Marilyn of 60 years, son Clark Chrisman (Renee), daughter Melody Mathieu (Larry), grandchildren Keith, Janelle, Lee, Lance, Malorie and sister Doris Taylor of Rockford, Illinois.

Curt was born September 23, 1919 and grew up in Rockford and was educated in Rockford schools.  Later he attended Ray Vogue School of Art and Design in Chicago where he graduated as a commercial artist.  He worked for various art studios in Chicago and retired in 1983.  He was married in Rockford in 1951 where he and his wife lived for a short time before moving to Cleveland, Ohio, then Chicago and eventually Lombard where they have lived for 55 years.

Curt was a veteran of the U.S.Army Air Corps and served in the China-India-Burma Theater of Operation from 1942-1945.  He enlisted January 1, 1942 and received an honorable discharge December 28, 1945.  He was a Corporal QMC and received the Service Stripe, 5 Overseas ribbons, the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal as well as being a Sharpshooter.

Curt was an avid outdoorsman and loved all aspects of Mother Nature.  He enjoyed gardening, picnicking, and the family enjoyed doing these things together.  Both he and his wife Marilyn have been members of First United Methodist Church of Lombard for 55 years.

Visitaiton – Wed. June 29 – 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Funeral – Thur. June 30 – 11:00 a.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard

Internment – Chapel Hill Gardens

Mariann J. Weglarz, nee Hoard, age 73 , of Lombard

Mariann  J. Weglarz, nee Hoard, age 73 , of  Lombard died June 20 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove,

Visitation will be held  Thursday, June 23, from 3 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main, Lombard.

Funeral services will be held Friday with prayers at Brust Funeral Home at 9AM  to Christ the King Church, Lombard for 9:30AM Mass.

Entombment will be at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum

Mrs. Weglarz is survived by her husband, John; two daughters, Terri (Phillip) Moros of Lombard  and Debbie Hyzynski and a son, Nick (Chris) Pullia of Orland Park; five grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and two sisters, Georgeana Rito and Carole (Dan) Vevera.

Mrs. Weglarz is preceded in death by a  brother, Allen  Hoard and a brother-in-law, Al Rito.

Mrs. Weglarz was married for 47 years.  She was a resident of Lombard since 1989. She enjoyed bowling. She previously worked for Suburban Life Newspaper.

LILLIAN G. JOHNSON, age 95, of Lombard, died June 19 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, Illinois.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 22 from 3 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 23 at 10 AM at Brust Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines, Illinois.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her son, Dennis (Josie Oddo); and her granddaughter, Samantha Oddo.

Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her husband, Carl.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Wheeling, Illinois.  She was a member of St. John’s Ev Lutheran Church in Lombard for over 20 years.

WILLIAM E. REICHARDT, age 91, formerly of Lombard, died peacefully in his sleep on June 18.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 24 from 4 to 8 pm at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 25 at 11:00 AM at Holy trinity Lutheran Church, Grace and Madison Streets, Lombard.

Interment Private at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, Indiana.

Mr. Reichardt is survived by his wife of 68 years, Elsie, nee Anhold; four children, William (Rosemary), James (Maureen), Thomas (Jackie), and Susan (Todd) Hall; eight (8) grandchildren, Gary, Jeff  (Jenny), Joe, Chrissy, Bonnie, Billy, Sarah, and Jani Lee; and three great-grandchildren, Madison, Mallory, and Andrew.

Mr. Reichardt was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Lynn.

Mr. Reichardt was a World War II Navy Veteran, having served aboard the battleship Colorado in the Pacific.  He was retired from Illinois Bell telephone Company.

CHRISTINE A. CROSSMAN, nee Zielinski, age 53, of Bloomingdale, formerly of Glen Ellyn, died June 13 at Glen Oak Hospital, Glendale Heights, Illinois.

Visitation and Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 17 from 1:00 PM until the time of Service 15 6:00 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Interment Private at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights, Illinois.

 

Mrs. Crossman is survived by two sons, David E. (Sonja) of New York and Carl J. of Hawaii; one grandchild, Orion of New York; her mother, Betty Zielinski; three brothers and sisters, Jessie (Harley) Bradley of Wisconsin, Jerome A. Zielinski, Jr. of Lombard, and Catherine J. (David) Woodrum of Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Crossman is preceded in death by her husband, William; and her father, Jerome Zielinski, Sr.

Mrs. Crossman was a resident of West Suburban Nursing Home in Bloomingdale for 8 years and was formerly of Glen Ellyn 5 years, and Northlake.  She was a Graduate of West Leyden High School.  Mrs. Crossman was an Electrician and a member of I.B.E.W.

She loved riding her Harley motorcycle.  Mrs. Crossman enjoyed gardening, baking, and cooking.

JOHN ‘JACK’ PHILIP TALBOT, age 87, of Lombard, died June 11 at Elmhurst Extended Care Center, Elmhurst, Illinois.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 16, from 4 to 9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 17 with prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard, for 10 AM Mass.

Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton, Illinois.

Mr. Talbot is survived by his wife, Jane Marie, nee Daft; five children, Nancy E. (Brian) Plimpton of New Hampshire, David J. (Raemarie) of Plainfield, IL, Kathryn M. Talbot of Carol Stream, IL,  Jenifer A. (Charles) Chambers of Big Rock, Illinois, and Bruce P. (Joanne) of Carol Stream, IL; seven grandchildren, Nathan Henry Plimpton of New Hampshire, Hannah Marie Plimpton of New Hampshire, Carol Noel Chambers of Big Rock, IL, and Brian, Mary Claire, Stephen, and Peter Talbot, all of Carol Stream, IL; his sister, Marie Reich of Pennsylvania; and his brother, Alfred (Nancy) Talbot of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Talbot is preceded in death by his parent John A. and Marie R., nee Gross; brother, PFC George Talbot, U.S. Army, KIA, WW II, in Europe.

Mr. Talbot was a resident of Lombard since 1966 and was formerly of Delaware and Pennsylvania.  He grew up in Springfield, Pennsylvania and was a 1942 graduate of Springfield High School.  He was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  Mr. Talbot received his MBA and BS in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University.  Mr. Talbot had retired from Aaron Equipment in Bensenville.  He had worked for Hercules Inc. for over 24 ½ years.  He was a former organist, usher and choir member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard.  Mr. Talbot was a member of Good Sam’s Camping Club in Northern Illinois.

BARBARA J. McINTYRE, nee Mueller, age 79, of Lombard, died June 11 at her home.

Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.

Mrs. McIntyre is survived by three children, William (Janet) of Lombard, Patrick of Dixon, and Eileen (Ralph) Rich of Villa Park; five grandchildren, Nicole of Lombard, Krysta of Villa Park, Jeremy of Villa Park, Shawn of Villa Park, and David of Lombard; two great-grandchildren, Myles of Villa Park, and Mayson of Villa Park; her sister, Carol (John) Klus of Norridge, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McIntyre was a resident of Lombard since 1969.  She was a Second Grade School Teacher at Sacred Heart School in Lombard where she taught for over 25 years.  She began teaching in 1972 and after retiring from full-time teacher twice, served as a substitute teacher until 2010.  She had done the Christmas Program at school.  Mrs. McIntyre grew up in Chicago.  She had studied in Mexico.  Mrs. McIntyre was an Extraordinary Minister at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  She loved Bridge, Gardening, and Science Fiction.

GERALD F. MURPHY, age 82, of Lombard, Korean War Veteran, Retired Lieutenant Chicago Fire Department, died June 13 at his home.

Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife, Joann M., nee Hosler; four children, Debra A. (Thomas A.) Larson of Lombard, Jeffery M. (Charlotte) of Burr Ridge, Kathleen M. (Denis) Denz of Lombard, and Thomas N. (Erin) of Minnesota; 11 grandchildren, Nick, Paul, Sarah, Kelly, Caitlin, Tatiana, Austin, Alexis Dylan, Samantha, and Cecilia; his best pal, Nautica; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Mr. Murphy is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and his sister.

 

Mr. Murphy was a resident of Lombard 19 years.  He was a Veteran having served in the Korean War.  Mr. Murphy had retired as Lieutenant after 36 years on the Chicago Fire Department.  He currently drove a School Bus for Timothy Christian School.

Clifford R. Strain, of Lombard, died Saturday, June 11, at home.  Visitation will be held Monday, June 13, from 4 until 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main, Lombard.  Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, June 12, with 9:00 AM prayers at Brust Funeral Home, to St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1025 E. Madison, Lombard,  for a 9:30 AM Mass.  Interment will be held at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum, Winfield.

 

Mr. Strain is survived by:  his wife, Julia D., nee Catania; his daughters, Carol Strain (Ted Millin), Linda Strain-Flannery, and Nancy Strain (Jimmy Hensley); his sons, Clifford (Laurie) and Gary (Carol); his grandchildren, Kyle and Colin Millin, Katie and Maggie Strain, Scott Strain, Jason, Justin, Bryan and Shannon Flannery, and Sydney and Ethan Kopp.

Mr. Strain was a resident of Lombard and helped with the Lilac Parade.  He was also a Ham Radio Operator.

Main Street, Lombard.  Mr. Bromley will be lying-in-state on Tuesday, June 14, from 9 AM until time of Funeral Service at 10 AM at Faith United Methodist Church, 815 S. Finley Rd., Lombard.  Interment will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace.

Mr. Bromley is survived by:  his wife, Barbara J., nee Johnson of Lombard; his daughters, Rebecca R. Hernandez, Bethany B. (Richard P. Row) Bromley, Christine J. (Michael T. Jones) Jones, and Jennifer R. (Melvin Kennett) Bromley; his son, Craig W. Bromley; his grandchildren, Wayne Hernandez, Angela L. Olson, David Hernandez, Bobby C. Hernandez; Jamie L. Jones; and Robert A. Jones;  soon-to-arrive great-granddaughter, Caprice A. Hernandez; and his brother, James Bromley.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Warren R. Olson, Jr.

Mr. Bromley grew up in Chicago, but was a resident of Lombard for 43 years.  He was a retired Paint Chemist.  He belonged to the VFW.
