Dorothy C. Barela, nee Cormany, age 90 of Lombard, died Thursday,

June 8, at Bridgeway Christian Village, Bensenville.  Visitation will be held Saturday, June 11, from 9 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11 AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, IL.  Interment will be at Fairmount Willow Hills Memorial Park, Willow Springs, IL.

Mrs. Barela is survived by:  her daughter, Linda (Charles) Pilipauskas of Lombard; her son, Thomas (Roxanne) of Lombard;  her grandchildren, Cheryl (Jeff) Wischhover, Timothy (Michelle) Pilipauskas, and Susan Pilipauskas; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John.

Mrs. Barela was active at Trinity Lutheran Church, and a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.  She also loved to read.

ALVIN R. WAGNER, age 87, of Lombard, formerly of Glen Ellyn

ALVIN R. WAGNER, age 87, of Lombard, formerly of Glen Ellyn, died June 6 at his home.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 8 from 3 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 9 with Mr. Wagner Lying-In-State from 10 AM until time of Service at 10:30 AM at St. John’s Ev Lutheran Church, 215 South Lincoln, Lombard.

Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.

Mr. Wagner  is survived by his wife, Eunice, nee Fiene; his daughter, Judith (Don) Simmons; his son-in-law, Jeff Kegerris; three grandchildren, Erin and Emma Kegerris, and Timothy Simmons; his sister, Dorothy Westphal; five nieces and nephews, Allen (Rita) Westphal, Deb (Jim) Esner, Robert John, Loren, and Joann (Scott) Page; and many other relatives and friends.

Mr. Wagner is preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela; and his brother-in-law, Loren Westphal.

Mr. Wagner had retired from the DuPage County Forest Preserve.  He was a St. John’s “B” Dart Player.  Mr. Wagner had been active at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church and previously at Grace Glen Ellyn.  He was an avid White Sox fan.  Mr. Wagner enjoyed fishing and bird watching.

JOSEPH E. G. JABLONSKY, age 83, of Lombard

JOSEPH E. G. JABLONSKY, age 83, of Lombard, died June 4 at his home.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 3 to 9 PM at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 South Princeton, Villa Park.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 10 with prayers at 8:45 AM from Brust Villa Park Funeral Home to St. Pius X Church, Lombard, for 9:30 AM Mass.

Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.

Mr. Jablonsky is survived by his wife, Virginia, nee Kalemba; three daughters, Carol (Michael) Brickley of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, Catherine (John Antanies) Jablonsky of Arizona, and Mary (Jeffery) Walker of Colorado; his son, David (Saham Khozestani) of Hoffman Estates; seven (7) grandchildren, Theresa (Nicholas) Brickley-Wills, Patrick Brickley, Meghan Brickley, Daniel Walker, Joan Walker, Zahra Jablonsky, and Zakary Jablonsky; and his brother, Anthony of Villa Park.

Mr. Jablonsky was a resident of Lombard 45 years and was formerly of Chicago 10 years.  He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  Mr. Jablonsky was a graduate of the University of Illinois in Champaign with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with Honors.  He had retired in 1996, after 44 years as a Program Manager for Motorola.  Mr. Jablonsky had celebrated 55 years of marriage.  Mr. Jablonsky was a Golfer.  He had a U.N. Passport and worked on assignment for Motorola for the U.N. in various DMZ Zones internationally.

JAY VANDERGRIFT, age 70, of Villa Park, died June 5 at his home.

Mr. Vandergrift is survived by his wife, Barbara, nee Husenica; four children, Cindy (Dan) Watters, Tim, Rick (Laura), and Debbe (Mike) Busse; nine grandchildren, Nick, Tara, Nick, Brooke, Jake, Brett, Kyle, Zack and Tory; and his sister, Vera Ward.

Jay, a.k.a. ‘J-Bird’, had celebrated 50 years of marriage.  He was an avid sports fan of the White Sox, Blackhawks, Chicago Bulls, and Green Bay Packers.  Jay was a “Mr. Fix-It” as he could fix anything.  He loved being retired.  Jay was very proud of all his Children and Grandchildren and their sports accomplishments.

EUGENE D’ONOFRIO, age 84, of Chicago, World War II Army Veteran, Retired IBEW #134, died, June 5 at Glen Oak Hospital, Glendale Heights, Illinois.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 8 from 3 to 9 PM at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 South Princeton, Villa Park, Illinois.

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 9 from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Alexander Church Gathering Space, 300 South Cornell, Villa Park, Illinois.

Interment Mt.Carmel Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.

Mr. D’Onofrio is survived by his wife, Sheila, nee McVeigh; seven (7) children, Eugene (Debra) of Addison, Patricia (Edward) Caron of Elmhurst, Richard (Jackie) of Esmond, Illinois, Dennis (Anne Marie) of Arlington Heights, Paul (Evelyn) of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Sheila Kalteux of Seminol, Florida, and Robert (Brenda) of Villa Park; 14 grandchildren; his brother, Dominic of LaGrange, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Mr. D’Onofrio is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Robert Kalteux; four brothers and sisters, Flo, Nancy, Rudy, and Louis; and his sister-in-law, Mary D’Onofrio.

 

Mr. D’Onofrio was a resident of Villa Park and was formerly of Chicago.  He was retired IBEW Local 134. He served in the U.S. Army as a Tech Sgt. stationed at Port Schafter, Hawaii during WWII. Mr. D’Onofrio was married 56 years. He enjoyed gardening, and was an avid fan as the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. He also loved camping with his grandchildren.

EDWARD S. LEDERER, age 90, of Bolingbrook, formerly of Villa Park; died June 5 at Manorcare at Naperville, Naperville, Illinois.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, June 9 at 10 AM at Brust Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Elmhurst, Illinois.

Mr. Lederer is survived by his wife, Emily, nee Baron; his daughter, Linda (William) Follett of Bolingbrook; his son, Robert (Constance) Lederer of Aurora; six (6) Grandchildren; and 16 Great-Grandchildren.

Mr. Lederer was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He had been married for 66 years.  Mr. Lederer loved to golf and travel.  He loved watching cartoons and eating cereal.

Kim K. Fisch nee Salyer, age 48, of Glen Ellyn, formerly of Addison, died at home, June 1st.

Mrs. Fisch  was married 26 years. She graduated in 1980 from Addison Trail High School. She loved going to Arlington Park Race Track and the Morton Arboretum in Lisle. She liked visiting Myrtle Beach and enjoyed visiting local Village Summer Festivals. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was working on writing a cookbook. She also loved gardening.

Mrs. Blayney is survived by her husband, Kevin Patrick; four children, Nathan, Kevin, Jr., Angela, and Ryan, all of Lombard; three grandchildren, Austin, Aniga, and Kevin, III; five brothers and sisters, Robert, Jr., Janet (Jerry), Forest (Brenda), Margaret, and Jeanine; her sister-in-law, Karen.

Mrs. Blayney is preceded in death by her brother, Arden.

Mrs. Blayney was a resident of Lombard 10 years and was formerly of Glen Ellyn 13 years.  She was a graduate of Tarbiyai Bahai High School in Cedar Grove, New Mexico.  Mrs. Blayney was the Restaurant Manager for Casey’s in Lombard for over 20 years.  She had attended Calvary Episcopal Church in Lombard.

BARBARA E. MARKOV, age 75, of Lombard, died May 31 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, Illinois.

Mrs. Markov is survived by her husband, Frank, Sr.; three sons, David (Carolina) of California, Frank, Jr. (Carolyn) of Lombard, and Steve (Jeffrey) of New York; two Grandchildren, Roseanne (Tom) Burke and Barbara Markov; two sisters, Florence Tringl and Alice Tringl; and her brother, Kenneth Emery.

Mrs. Markov was a resident of Lombard since 1976.  She had been married for 53 years.  Mrs. Markov enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to decorate her house.  She was an avid collector of T-pots and spoons.
