Louis D. Shurba age 75 of Lombard.  Beloved son of the late Louis V. and Josephine M. nee Sabella.  Loving brother of Mary Lou (the late Michael) Haske, the late Charles (Mary), Anthony (the late Darlene), the late Domenica (Philip) Muratore, the late Domiano (the late Judith), Gloria (Dominic) D’Ambrosia, Henry (Julie), and Joann (the late James) Rossini.  Uncle and great uncle of many.

Funeral services Wednesday 9:30 A.M. from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard to Sacred Heart Church for 10 A.M. Marguerite L. Thompson, age 90, of Lombard

Marguerite L. Thompson, age 90, of Lombard, died July 28 at Lexington Healthcare Center, Lombard.

Visitation is Monday, August 1, from 3 to 8 P.M. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St. Lombard.

Mrs. Thompson  will be lying-in-state Tuesday from 10:30 A.M. until time of Funeral Service 11 A.M. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Grace & Madison Sts. Lombard.

Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace, IL

Mrs. Thompson is survived by 2 daughters, Marguerite Thompson and Patricia Lindmark; 4 grandchildren, Christine (Ron) Ervin, Carl (Viola) Lindmark and Curt (Mandy) Lindmark and 6 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her husband, Robert.

Mrs. Thompson had been married for 57 years. She retired from Western Electric. She was a resident of Lombard since 1968 and was very active in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Mary Christine Collins, nee Brewer, 80, of Lombard, died Wednesday, July 27 at home surrounded by family.

Visitation Monday 9:00 A.M. until time of Funeral services  Monday, August 1st at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main, Lombard, with Cindy Wallace, Chaplain of Alexian Brothers Hospice, officiating.  Interment will be private at Forest Hill Cemetery in Glen Ellyn.

Mrs. Collins is survived by her children, Thomas, Donald, Diane all of Lombard, and Thelma (Greg) Warner of Rockford; and the grandchildren, Robert, Rebecca, and Benjamin; her sisters, Nell Griffith and Nina Sawyers; her brothers, Fred and Wilbur.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude and son, David.

Mrs. Collins was born in Sharon, TN and was a resident of Lombard since 1962. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary Lombard VFW Post #5815. She was also a founding member of Meadowlark Quilting Club and was able to quilt until the last days of her life.

Thanks to her hospice care team she was able to enjoy life to the fullest for the past two years.

BETTY M. SNYDER, nee Rosenkrans, age 75, of Villa Park, died July 25 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, Elmhurst, Illinois.

Visitation and Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, July 28 with Visitation from 8:30 AM until time of Prayers at 9:45 AM at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 South Princeton, Villa Park, to St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, Villa Park for a 10:30 AM Mass.

Interment Private.

Mrs. Snyder is survived by her son, David (Jacqueline) of Naperville; two daughters, Susan (Wayne) Kozack of Carol Stream, and Sandra (Thomas) Luby of Woodridge; five (5) grandchildren, Scott, Mark, Jessica, Caitlin, and Stephanie; two sisters, Josephine Milkoski, and Patricia Brainerd; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Snyder is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E.; four sisters, Grace, Anne, Rose, and Mary; her brother, Bud; and two brother-in-laws, Joseph Milkoski, and Roy Brainerd.

Mrs. Snyder was a resident of Villa Park for 53 years.  She was very active in the community including, gardening, animal care, and scouting.

Marian Gierczak, Age 88

Marian Gierczak, Age 88 passed away peacefully on July 22, 2011. Marian is survived by two children, Glenn (Lisa) of Naperville and Mark (Jeanne) of Glen Ellyn and three grandchildren, Carly, Max and Danny.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Genevieve and his daughter Nina.

Marian was born in Poland and came to the United States in 1957. He was a resident of DuPage Convalescent Center in Wheaton where he had many friends. He loved hummingbirds and fishing and visiting with his family.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Mount Emblem Cemetery, Grand Av & County Line Road, Elmhurst, IL  60126.

Mary J. Sloane, age 74, of Lombard, died July 23 at her home.

Memorial Gathering will be held Wednesday, July 27 from 3 to 7 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Interment Private.

Mrs. Sloane is survived by two children, Paul (Kim) of Lombard, and Nell of Schaumburg; five grandchildren, Amy (Dave) Quigley, Amanda (Anthony) Izzi, Ashley (Jack Koslinski), and Frank and Travis Sylvester; and four (4) great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Sloane had taught 5th grade in the Maywood School District for many years.  She was a graduate of Quincy College.  She loved to read and cook.  Mrs. Sloane had flown on the Concord twice to Europe.

Evelyn B. Duda, nee Zelenka, age 92 of Lombard, died Saturday, July 23, at DuPage Convalescent Center.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 26, from 3 until 9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard, IL 60148.  Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 27, with 9:30 AM prayers at Brust Funeral Home, to Sacred Heart Church, Elizabeth & Maple Sts., Lombard, for a 10 AM Mass.  Interment will be held at Queen of Heaven.

Mrs. Duda is survived by:  her sons, Dennis (Regina) of Lombard, Alan (Kathy) of Wheaton; her grandchildren, Robert (Patricia) Reinecke, Steven (Jennifer) Reinecke, John (Hillary) Duda, Aimee (Steve) Erickson, Anthony Cechini, David (Alicia) Cechini, and Joseph Duda; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; her brother, Edward (Dot) Zelenka; and her son-in-law, Richard Reinecke.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Otto; her daughter, Bonnie Reinecke; her son, Glen; and her sister, Elaine Churchill; and her parents, Rose and Frank Zelenka.

Mrs. Duda loved to crochet, bake, ceramics and garden.  She was an avid reader, and a member of the Red Hat Society.  Most of all, she loved spending time with family and grandkids.

MILDRED C. NASO, nee Del Re, age 83, of Lombard, died July 19 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, Illinois.

Mrs. Naso is survived by her husband, Joseph I.; two daughters, Janet (Gary) Kolbe of Geneva, and Mary Ann Naso of Lombard; her son, Joseph P. Naso of Stevensville, Michigan; her granddaughter, Amanda Sullivan of Naperville; many nieces and nephews; and loving friends.

Mrs. Naso is preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Mrs. Naso was a resident of Lombard since 1963.  She grew up in Chicago and was a 1946 graduate of Holden High School in Chicago.  Mrs. Naso had worked at Goldblatts, Wieboldts, and Fannie May.  She had been married for 58 years.

ALEX CORONADO, age 77 of Lombard,

ALEX CORONADO, age 77 of Lombard, died July 15, at home.  Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 9 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard.  Funeral will be Tuesday with 9:30 a.m. prayers at Brust Funeral Home and a 10 a.m. mass at Christ the King Church in Lombard.  Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Mr. Coronado is survived by:  his wife Anastacia nee Araiza; his children:   Lupe (Larry) Quigley of Santa Fe, NM, Alex, Jr. (Mary) of Valparaiso, IN, Mark (Kirsten) of Wheaton; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; eight siblings; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  He was preceded in death by two siblings.

Mr. Coronado had been a resident of Lombard for 33 years and a long time member of Christ the King church.  He was a former referee for high school and grade school sports for over 40 years.  He was a hall monitor at Glenbard East High School after retirement.
