Kim W. Gerlach, age 57, of Dyer, IN, formerly of Lombard, died August 30 at St. Margaret Mercy Hospital, Dyer, IN.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30AM until time of service Noon at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St. Lombard.

Mr. Gerlach is survived by a son, Ryan A. of Indiana; his mother, Margaret I. nee Allan of Lombard; two brothers, Richard (Terri) of FL and Michael (Deb) of Naperville; a sister, Kerri (Wayne DiVarco) Halsall of West Chicago; 8 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gerlach is preceded in death by his father, Albert and his brother, Wayne.

Mr. Gerlach was born in Oak Park. He grew up in Lombard. He graduated from Parkview School, Lombard Jr. High and Glenbard East High School in 1973. He attended the College of DuPage. He moved to Dyer, IN ten years ago.  He was a golfer, a gardener and an avid boater in the Chain O Lakes.

Frank R. Jurado, age 70 of Lombard, died Friday, August 26, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 30, from 4 PM until 9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, IL 60148.  Funeral Service will be held Weds., Aug 31, with 9:30 AM prayers at Brust Funeral Home to St. Pius X Catholic Church for a 10:00 AM Mass.  Interment will be private.

Mr. Jurado is survived by:  his wife of 45 years, Dana, nee Pocius; his children, Sonia (Jim) Jurado-Tammen of MA, Alex (Bridget) of Roselle, and Erick of Lombard; his grandchildren, Lisette, Maximo, Giselle, Nico, and Lucia; his sisters, Catita Garzon,  Miriam (Eduardo) Guerrero, and Celinda (Raul) Benavides; his brothers, Manolo (Mercedes) Villacis, Mario (Maria Teresa), David (Isabel), Patricio (Iliana), Fabian, and Ricardo (Diane); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lizette, sister, Erlinda Villacis and brother-in-law, Cesar Garzon.

Mr. Jurado was a resident of Lombard for 37 years.  He was a very active member at St. Pius X.  He loved music and was very active in Lombard soccer.

NANCY  ANN WATKINS, nee DeShazor, age 76 of Lombard, died Friday, August 26th, at home.  Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 9 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.  Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 30, with Mrs. Watkins lying-in-state from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1320 Ridgeland Avenue, Naperville, IL.  Interment private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Mrs. Watkins is survived by her sons:  Donald, Jr. ‘Jake’ (Nancy) of Chicago, Bruce (Mary) of Florida, Michael ‘Ralph’ (Diana) of Villa Park and David ‘Beau’(Erin) of Sycamore; six daughters:  Rebecca  of Villa Park, Elizabeth ‘Ibby’ (Bob) Piper of Virginia, Catherine ‘Kate’ of Villa Park, Martha ‘Mimi’ of Warrenville, Amy of Carol Stream, and Rachel (Bill) Romano of Lombard; her grandchildren Paul & Daniel Watkins, Dianna (William) Faulkner, Nicholas (Amanda) Piper, Genevieve & Eric Piper, Crayton & Kaylen Watkins, Hannah, Amanda & Mason Watkins, and Zander & Zoe Romano, her great grandchildren:  MacKenzie, Aden & Nathan; her sister Sue McClanahan; and her brother Pete (Sylvia) DeShazor.  She was preceded in death by her husband Donald P.

Mrs. Watkins was a retired clerk from the U. S. Postal Service.  In recent years she had been working at Brust Funeral Home in Lombard and Tri Town YMCA.

JOHN ‘JACK’ LEONARD CARLSON, age 67, of Oak Brook,

JOHN ‘JACK’ LEONARD CARLSON, age 67, of Oak Brook, died suddenly August 22 from organ failure caused by an incident involving an unforeseeable allergic reaction.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 25 from 2 to 9 pm at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 26 with prayers at 9 AM from Brust Funeral Home to St. Mary Gostyn Church, 445 Prairie Avenue, Downers Grove, for 10 AM Mass.

Interment Private.

Mr. Carlson is survived by his loving wife, Denise; children, Jennifer (Jeff) O’Brasky, John (Heather), and Chris (Chrissy); four grandchildren, Bo, Jack, Gianna, and Cam; his sister, Loretta; and countless friends.

Mr. Carlson is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary, nee Tallant.

Mr. Carlson was born June 9, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was a resident of Oak Brook, Illinois.  Jack was a true Renaissance man and an American patriot. He was a gifted businessman, entrepreneur, and a captain of industry for over 40 years. Jack was an avid golfer, passionate aficionado of the arts, prodigious reader and learner, and a phenomenal storyteller. We are lucky to have been able to share laughs with a man who truly exemplified how to live life to the fullest. All who were blessed to know him would agree that Jack lived his life with the utmost personal and spiritual gusto. He was a welcoming and entertaining host, as well as a generous provider of love and good positive spirit. Among many other attributes, he will mostly be remembered for his tremendous heart, magnetic personality, extreme generosity, and natural ability to radiate love. Nothing was more important than his beloved wife Denise and his cherished children, grandchildren, and many others who he considered family. Jack truly made a positive impact on each person he encountered, and will be incredibly missed by the countless individuals he has touched. The world is a darker place in his absence, but we can live with the comfort of knowing that he made everything brighter with his wonderful presence on this earth.

NANCY L. KERR nee Lytle, age 64, of Lombard

NANCY L. KERR nee Lytle, age 64, of Lombard, died August 20 at Hinsdale Hospital.

Visitation and Funeral will be held Monday, August 22, with Visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:30 Prayers and to Christ the King Catholic Church for an 11:00 AM Funeral Mass.  Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.

Mrs. Kerr is survived by her husband, Marty; her brothers:  James (Rita) of Wisconsin, Thomas of Lombard and Michael (Janelle) of Wisconsin; three nieces and nephews; four great nieces and nephews; and her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Borak.

Mrs. Kerr was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann Lytle.

Mrs. Kerr had been a resident of Lombard for the last 15 years.  She grew up in Chicago and graduated from Notre Dame High School.  She retired from United Food and Commercial Workers Union as a Document Manager in 2007.  She had worked there for 27 years.  Mrs. Kerr loved animals.

Domingo Stabolito, 88, born in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico, resident of Lombard for 43 years, died Friday, August 19,  at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 11:00 am at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard, with a gathering beginning at 10:00 A.M;

Mr. Stabolito is survived by his wife of 66 years , Guadalupe Stabolilto (Gomez), his son, George Stabolito, daughter in law, Francine Stabolito, grandchildren, sister and brother, and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Stabolito was a member of the Lions organization in Chicago. He will be greatly  missed by his friends and family.

DENNIS A. RICE, age 66, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died August 14 at RML Specialty Hospital, Hinsdale, Illinois.

Mr. Rice is survived by four children, Deena (Peter) Wilkes of Barrington, Jennifer (Rick) Winters of Hoffman Estates, Jason (Maria) of Glen Ellyn, and Cheree (BJ Macias) Rice of Lombard; six grandchildren, Dustin, Taylor, Gabriel, Kyra, Jacob, and Lillian; two sisters, Sharon (Robert) Meyer of Westmont, and Kathleen (John Privitera) Banos; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and his companion, Pamela Garnett.

Mr. Rice was a Veteran having served during the Viet Nam War.  Mr. Rice was retired from United Air Lines where he had worked for 35 years as a Baggage Handler.

FRED GAY, age 73, of West Chicago, formerly of Lombard was welcomed in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 15 at his home.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 17 from 3 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 18, with Mr. Gay Lying-In-State from 10 AM until the time of Service at 11 AM at Lombard Bible Church, Lombard.

Interment will be at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, Illinois.

Mr. Gay is survived by his wife, Rena; his son, Robert (Nadine) Gay of Somonauk, Illinois; his daughter, Laura (Victor) Goode; and six Grandchildren, Olivia, Austin, and Vivian Gay, Eric and Scott Joyce, and Abigail Goode of Plainfield.

Mr. Gay is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruby Gay; 6 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Fred was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force.  He had been a lift truck mechanic and owned Fred Gay Lift Truck for 34 years.  Fred was a member of Lombard Bible Church where he exemplified a spirit of encouragement and servant hood, helping in the churches stockade and brigade ministries for the young boys, men’s programs, and caring for the church property improvement.  Fred was loved by all who met him.  He was a special friend to the church staff.  His character was one with spiritual strength, truth, and honor.

ROCHELLE B. BLASS, nee Rogers, age 78, of Glen Ellyn, died August 14 at her home.

Memorial Gathering will be held Wednesday, August 17 from 10 AM until time of Service at 11 AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Mrs. Blass is survived by two daughters, Sandra Graziano of Oswego, and Carol Di Figlio of Carol DiFiglio of Carol Stream; three grandchildren, Gina DiFiglio of Carol Stream, John ‘Jay’ (Julie) Graziano of Yorkville, and Jill DiFiglio of Carol Stream; two great-grandchildren, Ella, and Jordan; her sister, Marilyn (Donald) Lowery of Westchester; and 5 nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Blass was a resident of Glen Ellyn over 35 years and was formerly of Hillside.  She grew up in Oak Park and was a graduate of Oak Park High School.  Mrs. Blass had retired from Chicago Bridge and Iron.  She had been a Volunteer worker for C.N.S. Hospice.
