Ronald E. Foresman, age 66, of Florida, formerly Lombard 35 years, died February 28 in Michigan.
Visitation will be held Friday, 3 to 9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St. Lombard, IL.
Funeral service will be Saturday with prayers at 9:30AM at Brust Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Church for 10AM Mass.
Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton.
Ron is survived by his wife, Sharon, nee Pollard, two daughters, Deanna C. (Eric) Lindstrom of Ann Arbor, MI & Danielle C. (Timothy) Bailey of Lombard; a son, David R. of Wheaton; 9 grandchildren, Ryan and Benjamin Lindstrom; Emily, Grace and Cora Newman; & Jacob, Jeremiah, Justice and Jiles Bailey; two sisters, Esther (the late Jim) Thomas, Roseville, IL. & Leatha (Joseph) Hutson, Donahue, IA; one brother, Merlin (Janet) Foresman, Hebron, IN., one brother-in-law, Roger Hofland, Bettendorf, IA and many, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Foresman is preceded in death by his parents, Merlin P. and Mary I. (nee Markey) Foresman; one granddaughter, Julia Bailey; three brothers, Edward (the late Emmy Lou) Foresman, Dr. Robert Foresman and Dr. James Foresman; three sisters, Elsie (the late Paul) Hartman, Betty Ann (the late Don)Williams and Mary Jane Hofland.
Ron grew up the youngest of 10 children on a 320 acre farm in the western part of Illinois (Henderson County). He attended a one room country school with only one teacher, which was a unique experience. He graduated from Stronghurst High School in 1963 and the University of Iowa in 1967. He was a lifetime Hawkeye fan. He then graduated from the Wisconsin Institute of Mortuary Science in 1968 and married Sharon in Escanaba, MI on June 1, 1968. He served his apprenticeship at Strang Funeral Home in Antioch, IL. He then received his State of Illinois Funeral Director and Embalmers Licences. He and Sharon purchased Jones Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL, in 1970 and owned it until 1975. In July of 1975 he went to work for Brust Funeral Home in Lombard, IL where he was employed until his retirement in August 2010. He and Sharon moved permanently to Bradenton, FL to enjoy retirement. In his 35 years in Lombard he enjoyed many positions and involvement in many groups and clubs: Lombard Jaycees, Lombard Area Chamber of Commerce, Lombard Lions Club, YMCA , YMCA Indian Princesses, YMCA Indian Guides, YMCA Trailblazers, Third Degree Member of Father Boecker Council 6090 Knights of Columbus, DuPage County Funeral Directors and Illinois Funeral Directors Association. He was chosen Lombard Man of the Year for 1983. He was a former member of St. Pius X Church and a CCD teacher there and a current long time member of Sacred Heart Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to Bladder Cancer Fund, U-M Cancer Center, 2800 Plymouth Rd. Bldg 100 Ann Arbor, MI. appreciated.
