ORTO, MILDRED JANE

MILDRED Jane Orto, nee Friday, 89, of Lombard, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2012 at St. Patrick’s Residence in Naperville where she had lived for the past 7 years. Mildred grew up in Arkansas and graduated from Little Rock Junior College in 1942. Mildred met her late husband Samuel in Arkansas while he was stationed in an army training base prior to WWII. After the war, Mildred moved to Chicago and was married for 58 years at the time of Samuel’s passing. Mildred is the loving mother of Katrina (Gary) Wadsworth, Frank, and late Jack; loving sister of late Wayne Friday; loving daughter of late Herbert and Jane Friday; loving grandmother and aunt to many. A private burial was concluded on Friday, Feb. 10. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at St. Patrick’s Residence, 1400 Brookdale Road, Naperville at 2 P.M. on Saturday, February 25. In lieu of flowers, contributions made in her memory to the Guild of St. Patrick of St. Patrick’s Residence are requested.

RICHARD P. FRILLMANN, age 80, Korean War Vet, formerly of Lombard died February 6 at the Illinois Veterans’ Home at Manteno, Illinois.

Visitation and Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 9 with Visitation from 10 Am until time of Service at 11 AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Interment will be at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Elmhurst, Illinois.

Mr. Frillmann is survived by his brother, William R. (Barbara R.) of Huntley, Illinois; his sister-in-law, Edna Mae Frillmann of Florida; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

Mr. Frillmann is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth and his brother, Louis W.

 

Mr. Frillmann was a 25+ year retired employee of Roadway Trucking.  He was a member of the Teamsters Local 705.

ROY E. BACH, SR., age 95, World War II Navy Veteran, of Elmhurst, formerly of Villa Park, died February 2 at Lexington Health Care, Elmhurst, Illinois.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 7 from 3 to 8 PM at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 South Princeton, Villa Park, Illinois.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.

Mr. Bach is survived by his son, Roy E., Jr. (Sally A.) of Batavia; five grandchildren, Valerie (Zouheir) Kheir-Beyck, Andrew H., Marianne V., Carolyn M., and Daniel S.; two great-grandchildren, Elissar and Natalie; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bach is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, nee Wilmers.

Mr. Bach was the oldest living Eagle Scout in DuPage County.  He was a long-time member of Harvard Avenue Ev Free Church.

JEAN TATARA, age 92, of Carol Stream, formerly of Lombard

Jean Marie Tatara, nee Santella, age 92, of Carol Stream, formerly of Lombard, died February 1 at St. Patrick’s Residence, Naperville.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 6, from 3 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St. Lombard.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 7 at 10 AM at St. Patrick’s Residence, 1400 Brookdale Road, Naperville, Illinois.

Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Mrs. Tatara is survived by her son, Richard (Patricia) Tatara; her grandchildren, Michael (Jeanne) Panicola, Rick (Stephanie) Tatara, Julie (Kevin) Tatara, Nacole Tatara, Tina (Tony) Beaird, and Casey Tatara; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Emily DeMora.

Mrs. Tatara is preceded in death by her husband, Casey in 1984; her daughter Janice in 1983; her parents, Christina (1959) and Emidio (1969); and her siblings, Felix in 1927, Andrew in 1984, Anne Bauer in 2000, and Mary De Cata in 1996.

Jean was born Giovannina Marie Santella on October 10, 1919 in Chicago to Emidio and Christina, nee Colaizzi, Santella.  Emidio and Christina were Italian immigrants from Ateleta, Italy.  Emidio arrived in America in 1904 and worked in Philadelphia for two years before coming to Chicago.  Christina arrived in America April 18, 1911 and married Emidio, whom she had known since childhood, on June 4, 1911.  Jean was the 4th of six children born to their union.

Jean attended St. Genevieve Elementary school and Forman High School in Chicago graduating with honors in 1939.  She married Casmer “Casey” Tatara on June 28, 1941.  That year, Jean ranked third highest on the civil service exam giving her pick of any civil service station in the U.S.  She chose to stay in Chicago and worked in Army purchasing at Navy Pier throughout the war.  Casey joined the Navy in 1944 and served until March, 1946.  Their first child, Richard “Dick” was born in December 1946 and a daughter, Janice, was born in November, 1949.

Jean worked for many years at Bankers Insurance and then at Concordia Mutual Life Insurance Company.  After retirement, Jean continued working at Wal-Mart in the office until she was 87 years old.  She was an amazing cook, an avid bowler and a savvy bingo player.  Full of boundless energy, she enjoyed playing with her great-grandchildren and Sasha, her canine companion.

A devout Catholic, Jean was a parishioner of St. Genevieve Church in Chicago, Christ the King Church in Lombard, and St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Carol Stream.

Ralph N. LoCoco, age 58, of Lombard, died February 1 at home.

Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 3, at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton, Villa Park from 2 to 9 PM.

Funeral service will be Saturday with prayers at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home at 9:30AM to St. Pius X Church for 10AM Mass.

Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park,IL.

Mr. LoCoco is survived by his wife, Michelle nee Gasparro; three sons, Jason (Lauren), Paul and Anthony (Sara); 5 grandchildren, Seth, Colin, Eden, Caitlyn and Oliver; four brothers, Samuel P. Jr., Rocco (Kathy) Jack and Charles (Monica; two sisters, Angeline Spencer and Donna (Anthony) Cardoza; uncle to many and friend to many more.

Mr. LoCoco is preceded in death by his wife Debra nee Watson and his parents, Samuel P. Sr. and Marie nee Valenti.
