Elaine Johanna Waas, nee Drescher, age 85, of Lombard

Monday, April 30th, 2012

ELAINE JOHANNA WAAS, nee Drescher, age 85, of Lombard, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, April 29 at her home after a battle with Bladder Cancer.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 1 from 3 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 2 with prayers at 9 AM from Brust Funeral Home to Christ The King Church for 9:30 AM Mass.
Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.

Mrs. Waas is survived by four sons, Michael (Jan), Paul, Peter (Laura), and Chris (Mary Lu); 13 grandchildren, Steve, Zachary, Jacob, Alex, Bridget, Adam, Jack, Matt, Emily, Caroline, Daniel, Alanna, and David; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Waas is preceded in death by her husband, Chester; her parents, brother and sister.

Mrs. Waas and her husband, Chester moved to Lombard 60 years ago when all the streets in the neighborhood were unpaved. Fields stretched all the way to Main Street. The home they purchased was unfinished. As neighbors moved into the area, they would enjoy campfires and games of badminton in the backyard. They raised their four sons and Chester passed away in 1978. Elaine would stay active volunteering at the annual Christ The King Rummage sale. She enjoyed travelling the country with her niece, Mary Ann.

Paul Schrilla, Sr., age 85, of Bloomingdale, formerly of Maywood

PAUL SCHRILLA, SR., age 85, of Bloomingdale, formerly of Maywood died April 29 at his home.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 3 from 2 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.
Funeral Service will be Friday at 11 AM at Brust Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Elmhurst, Illinois.

Mr. Schrilla is survived by eight children, Robert (Wanda), Joneen (Thomas) Kwasniewski, his namesake Paul, Jr. (Jean), Dawn (Robert) Jackson, Tom (Debra), and Glorianne Ruth, his constant companion during years of care, Mary (Robert) Prainito and Eva, who, with Robert Prainito, support Tom Schrilla to excel in continuing service to their clients of Paul, Sr.’s remarkable 50+ year career; his son-in-law, Ron Albertson; 23 grandchildren, Gloria, Lisa, Paul, Robert, Lars, Kimberly, Melanie, Kristen, Heidi, Amy, Nicholas, Nikki, Nina, Karen, Ron, Tom, Jack, Mia, Jessica, Robert, Chuck, Denise and Patricia; 28 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (Richard) Decker and Dorothy (Fred) Lofgren; his sister-in-law, Ruth and close confidant and cousin Gene Prell; his brother-in-laws, Wilbur K. (Margaret) Pflug and Elmer F. ‘Bud’ Pflug, Jr.; his cousin, Jack Brust; numerous godchildren; and many more cousins, in-laws nieces and nephews of the Lofgren, Brandt, Decker, Rankin, Pflug, Brust, Prell and Schrilla families.

Mr. Schrilla is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Ruth, nee Pflug; his daughter, Linda Albertson; his parents, Angelo and Helen; his brother, Robert “Sonny”; and his sister Theresa “Dolly” Rankin; his sister-in-law, Marion Pflug.

Mr. Schrilla was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific. Mr. Schrilla was in the Office Supply Business for over 50 years, retiring in 2006.
Mr. Schrilla was a lifelong member of the American Legion and gave many years of service to the Kiwanis and the V.F.W.

Virginia M. Tabor, nee Bronski, age 91, of Lombard

VIRGINIA M. TABOR, nee Bronski, age 91, of Lombard, died April 29 at her home.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 2, from 3 to 9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 3, with prayers at 9:00 AM from Brust Funeral Home to St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, Villa Park for 9:30 Am Mass
Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.

Mrs. Tabor is survived by her daughter, Elaine Tabor of Lombard; her daughter-in-law, Beth Tabor of Glendale Heights; her granddaughter, Amber C. Tabor of Glendale, Arizona; many nieces and nephews and many other relatives.
Mrs. Tabor is preceded in death by her husband, John J.; two sons, John F. and Dan; her sister, Helen; and her brothers, Stanley, Walter, John, and Frank.

Mrs. Tabor was a resident of Lombard since 1954. She had celebrated 63 years of marriage and had been very close to her husband. Mrs. Tabor had been a homemaker and a sales clerk at the ‘Big R’. She loved to crochet and make afghans. She was a painter of ceramics, gardener and enjoyed canning.

Becky L. Moscatello nee Kraegel, age 58, suddenly of Carol Stream

Becky L. Moscatello nee Kraegel, age 58, suddenly of Carol Stream, died April 12 at Central DuPage Hospital.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 18, from 8AM until 10AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St. Lombard.
Interment Fairview Memorial Park, Northlake.
Mrs. Moscatello will be lying-in-state Wednesday from 10:30AM until time of service 11:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, York Center, Roosevelt & Meyers Rd, Lombard.

Mrs. Moscatello is survived by two daughters, Nikki (Timothy) Durrant of Carol Stream and Beth Moscatello of Lombard; a son, Sam of Lombard; four grandchildren, Angelina Moscatello of Lombard, Keyana Moscatello of Lombard, Isabella Durrant of Carol Stream, Lucas Durrant of Carol Stream; her parents, Howard & Doris Kraegel of Villa Park; a brother, Timothy (Janene) of Lakeville, IN., two sisters, Terry (Steve) Pederson of Villa Park and Beth Kraegel of Villa Park; dear friend of Keith Malott of Carol Stream; many nieces and nephews and other relatives, and her former husband Charles Moscatello.

In lieu of flowers memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, York Center would be appreciated.

Mrs. Moscatello was born in Elmhurst. She grew up in Villa Park. She graduated from Trinity Lutheran School York Center in 1967 and Willowbrook High School in 1971. She attended the College of DuPage. She was a Chef at St. Paul Christian Day Care, Villa Park. She loved gardening, reading, music and playing with her grandchildren. She was a former Librarian at Trinity Lutheran School from 1996 until 2006. She resided in Carol Stream since 2006. Prior to that her entire life was in Villa Park and Lombard area.

VERA L. STREETZ., nee Pabst, age 92, of Lombard, died April 7 at Elmwood Care, Elmwood Park, IL..

Visitation will be held Tuesday April 10 from 1-5 PM, with military honors at 5 PM, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.
Interment will be Private.

Mrs. Streetz is survived by her husband, William E.; three children, William H. (Rose M.) of Wheaton, Carol Suchowski of Addison and Kevin (Cheryl) of Poplar Grove; a daughter-in-law, Mae; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and an aunt and great aunt of many.
Mrs. Streetz is preceded in death by her son, Kenneth and a sister, Dorothy.

Mrs. Streetz was a resident of Lombard for several years. She had served in the U.S. Coast Guard. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines.

CATHERINE ‘KITTY’ I. WYNS, nee Flammia, age 85, of St. Charles, formerly of Lombard, died April 5, St. Charles, IL.

Interment will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.

Mrs. Wyns is survived by five (5) children, Melvin (Toni) of New Jersey, Linda Wyns of Plainfield, Carol Wyns of Wheaton, Kerri (Leo) Danek of St. Charles, and Edward (Kim) of North Carolina; 14 grandchildren; Lisa (Bob) Stephens, Jennifer Hunter, Tina Falbo, Crystal (Chris) Gillin, Robert Falbo, Samantha Falbo, Deanna (Craig) Wiist, Sandi DeWitt, Michael (Courtney) DeWitt, Ryan Danek, Luke Danek, Ariel Danek, Kelly Wyns, and Jake Wyns; 18 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Evelyn of Virginia.
Mrs. Wyns is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald E.; her daughter, Diana; two grandchildren, Angela Falbo, and Dawne Fox; and 5 brothers and sisters, Melvin, Butch, Shirley, Inez, and Margaret.

Mrs. Wyns was a resident of St. Charles for one year and was formerly of Lombard 65 years. She was married in 1945 and was a Homemaker.

M. EILEEN MAZARKA, nee Klazer, age 95, of Lombard, died April 2 at Lexington Health Care, Lombard, Illinois.

Visitation and Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 6 with Visitation from 10 AM to time of Service at 11 AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Mrs. Mazarka is survived by her dearest friend, Frank Beckett of Lombard; her niece, Barbara (Daniel) George of Phoenix; her nephew, Michael Philip of Oak Lawn; her nephew-in-law, William H. Slavik; her great-nieces and nephews, William M. (Elaine) Slavik of Naperville, Laura (Joseph) Vlosak of Frankfort, Michael (Jen) Philip of Oak Lawn, Michelle (Jesse) Ramirez of Phoenix, Jeffrey (Beth) Philip of Oak Lawn, Dan Philip of Oak Lawn, Brian George of Phoenix, and Greg Philip; and many great-great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mazarka is preceded in death by her husbands John Mazarka and Scott Pierson.

Mrs. Mazarka was a resident of Lexington Square in Lombard for 11 years and was formerly of Broadview. She was born in South Dakota. She had worked for the Veterans Administration.
