Mrs. Waas and her husband, Chester moved to Lombard 60 years ago when all the streets in the neighborhood were unpaved. Fields stretched all the way to Main Street. The home they purchased was unfinished. As neighbors moved into the area, they would enjoy campfires and games of badminton in the backyard. They raised their four sons and Chester passed away in 1978. Elaine would stay active volunteering at the annual Christ The King Rummage sale. She enjoyed travelling the country with her niece, Mary Ann.
