Irl F. Scott, age 93, of Florida, formerly of Lombard, died June 28th.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 5, at 10 A.M. until time of service at 12:00 Noon at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard.  Interment private at Chapel Hill Gardens West.  In lieu of flowers, donations to The American Cancer Society are appreciated.

Mr. Scott was the beloved husband of the late Doreen nee Partington, whom he married in 1942.  Mr. Scott is survived by two sons, Robert (Astrid) of Florida and Clifford (Anna), of Colorado, and a daughter, Eileen (Donald) Vacker, of Shorewood; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Hattie nee Pickle, and his siblings Olive, Hazel, Virginia and Jewel.

Mr. Scott retired after 22 years working as a buyer for International Harvester; he also worked as a security guard for Ovaltine in Villa Park and for Bell Labs.  He loved to build and fly radio controlled model airplanes.  He also loved to build clocks and enjoyed fishing and gardening.

JOHN J. RANAGHAN, age 82, of Lombard, died June 28 at Manorcare at Westmont, Illinois.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 2 from 3 to 8 pm at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 3 at 9:00 AM at St. Alexander Church Gathering Space, 305 South Cornell, Villa Park, until 10 AM Mass.
Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.

Mr. Ranaghan is survived by his sister-in-law, Joanne Ranaghan of Florida; his nieces and nephews, Margaret Sewell, Bill Ranaghan, Julie (Leonard) Rowekamp, Tim (Ann) Ranaghan, Kathleen (Scott) Thomas, and many others; and his brother-in-law, John (Catherine) Sewell of Villa Park.
Mr. Ranaghan is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie, nee Cozzi; and his brother, William L.

Mr. Ranaghan was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War as an M.P.

William J. Bussa, age 82, of Lombard

William J. Bussa, 82, of Lombard, IL died Friday, June 22nd after a prolonged illness.  Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 28th from 4 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home in Lombard. A reading is scheduled for 6:30 PM. A service will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard on Friday, June 29th at 10 AM.

Mr. Bussa is survived by Rose, his wife of 58 years; children David, William ( Joyce ), Donna  ( Randall )Effner, Sandra  ( Fidel )Gonzales, Robert, and Son in law Peter Abruzzo. He was preceded in death by his son John and daughter Barbara Abruzzo. He is also survived by grandchildren: Taitam, Shannon, Lloyd, Jessica, Jacob, Elizabeth, Sean, Veronika, Dominic and Vincent and great grandchildren: Manny, Kyler, Gabriella, Zoey, Jackson, Liam and Addison.

Mr. Bussa was a proud graduate of Tilden Tech and The University of Illinois and served in the U.S. Army. “Mr. B” was an educator and coach at Wagner and Glen Crest Junior High in Glen Ellyn for over 30 years. He will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to St. Judes or The Mercy Home for Boys and Girls.

 

Geraldine E. Connolly, nee Boyd, age 81, of Bolingbrook

GERALDINE EVELYN CONNOLLYnee BOYD, age 81, of Bolingbrook , IL went to her heavenly home, June 19th, 2012.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 22nd from 3 to 9 PM, with a service at 7PM, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street , Lombard , IL .

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 23rd at St. Francis Assisi 1501 W. Boughton Rd Bolingbrook, IL with a viewing @ 9:30AM and Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery Oak Brook Terrace, IL.

Gerry is survived by her two loving sisters, Doris & Dolores; her Brother-in-Law’s Eugene Parker & Lawrence (Moddie) Connolly; her devoted children, Nancy (Lynn) Petersen of Dundee, Pam Matrisiciano of Carol Stream, Cathy (Greg) Greene of Lombard, J. Brett of Carol Stream, and Pat (Tim) Doyle of Geneva.  She was a loving Nana to James, Brian (Julie), Nicole (Allen), Michael, Tanya, Nathan, Christopher (Kara), Zachary, Caleb, Megan, Joshua, Casey, Tyler ,Kayla,and Kaitlyn and great Nana to Logan, Hailee and Lilyana, along with her many nieces and nephews.  Gerry is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her parents, Victor and Mary; and her siblings, Genevieve Ryan, Eugene Boyd, Richard Boyd, and Phyllis Parker.

Gerry was born in Geneva , IL on August 2nd, 1930.  She was truly graceful in her work as a banquet waitress in the area for many years, an active member of the Jim Beam Club, a diehard Cubs fan watching every game she could and active in her church until she was too ill to attend.  She raised her family in Lombard then spent the past 22 years residing in Bolingbrook with her sister, Doris.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a source of much joy and happiness. Several years after her husband Joe passed away,  Gerry met a wonderful man named Frank Buddell.  Frank played an integral part in her life and they enjoyed each others company until Franks death in December of 1993.

Gerry’s life set a tremendous example for her family of what it is to be valued and cherished.  Her life was a testimony of personal contentment and appreciation.  Her strength and courage will forever be remembered.

John Patrick Mikel, age 44, of Lombard,

John Patrick Mikel, age 44, of  Lombard, died June 20 at home.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Friday,June 22 from 2PM until time of Memorial Mass 5PM at Christ the King Church,1501 S. Main St. Lombard.

Another Service will be held at St. Patrick of Merna in Bloomington, IL.

Mr. Mikel is survived by two sons, Andrew John and Patrick Christopher; his parents, D. Keith & Rita Killian Mikel; his former spouse, Kristine A. neeNeavins; brother Mark (Mary) Mikel and their children, Zachary, Ethan and Zoe; Uncle John J. (Stacie) Killian & their family of Towanda, IL.

Aunt Chloe (Harold) Misch & their family of Floey, Alabama; Uncle Guy Mikel and his daughters of San Clemente, CA.
Mr. Mikel is preceded in death by a brother, David Mikel; his maternal grandparents, John &Martha Larkin Killian and Paternal grandparents, Rex & Dorothy Gretter Mikel.

John was born Oct. 14, 1967 in Bloomington, IL.

John was a resident of Lombard for 17 years. He was a Senior Buyer for Concentric Inc. in Itasca. He was a member of Christ the King Church and was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid supporter of Glenn Westlake Middle School and Glenbard East High School. He was a graduate of Lexington High School, Lexington, IL. in 1986 and graduated from Loras College in 1990.

HELEN BENJAMINSEN, nee Blissenbach, age 93, of Lombard went to eternal glory June 7, 2012.

Interment will be held  Monday,  June 25, 2012. at 9:30 a.m. at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery

Helen is survived by her devoted children, Robert of Lombard and Barbara (Glenn) Brauer of Grayslake; and two dear grandsons and their wives, Eric (Meredith) Brauer of Bridgeview and Jason (Jennifer) Brauer of Naperville. Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; her parents, Henry and Anna; and her brother, Raymond

Helen was born in Kimball, Minnesota on March 15, 1919.  She attended St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Waconia High School.  Helen was a resident of Lombard for 46 years.  Her grandchildren were a source of much joy and happiness.  She was a member of the Lombard Service League and she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and baking.  Helen’s life set a tremendous example for her family of what is to be valued and cherished.  Her life was a testimony to personal contentment and thankfulness.

JOANNE B. PARENTI STOUT, age 74, of West Chicago, died June 17 at DuPage Convalescent Center, Wheaton, Illinois.

Visitation and Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 20 with visitation from 10 AM until time of Service at 12 Noon at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Interment Private.

Joanne is survived by her sister, Judith (Pat) Moscatello; her brother, Joseph (Karen) Parenti; four nieces and nephews, Michael (Darlene) Crudele, Terry (Michelle) Parenti, Michelle Luciano, and Christopher Parenti; three great-nephews, Michael, Patrick (Michelle), and Tim; and her dear friend, Dorothy Kanis.

Joanne is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stout; and her nephew, Joe Crudele.

 

Gregory P. Cipov, age 72 of Lombard,

Gregory P. Cipov, age 72 of Lombard, died suddenly June 15, at home.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 19, from 3-8 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard. Funeral will be Wednesday, June 20, at 10 a.m. at Brust Funeral Home. Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery.

Mr. Cipov is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judith L. nee Phipps; two (2) sons, Gregory Scott (Jodi) of Lombard, Mark P. (Stacy) of Wheaton; four (4) grandchildren, Lexie, Brandon, Brittany and Jonathan; his sister Sharleen Murtaugh of Colorado and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews..
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, John Murtaugh.

Mr. Cipov was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He loved to fish. Mr. Cipov was a retired Vice President of Operations for the Chicago Merchandise Mart.

Josephine Marie Burton, age 42

Josephine Marie Burton, age 42, of Geneva, died June 10 at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, Illinois.

Visitation and Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 13 with visitation from 10 AM until the time of Service at 11 AM at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 South Princeton, Villa Park.
Interment will be at River Hills Cemetery, Batavia, Illinois.

Josephine is survived by her mother, Darlene Beets of Alabama; her sister, Robin Martindale of Illinois; her brother, Thomas Hughes of Indiana; and hosts of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Josephine was born June 19, 1969. Josie you were loved by so many. You are my baby girl and momma will miss you.
