PATRICK D. CRIMMIN, age 74, of Chicago, lost his battle with prostate cancer July 30 at Hines V. A. Hospital and is finally at peace.

Visitation and Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 1st with Visitation from 3:00 PM until time of Service at 7:00 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Interment private at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.

Beloved father of Michael P. of Wheaton; cherished grandfather of Shelby; dear brother of Frances B. (Frank) Lyne of Wheaton, Sr. Mary M. Crimmin BVM of Iowa, Loretta C. (the late Robert) Wermes of Shorewood Glen, Marcella N. (Louis) Morgan of Chicago; Uncle and Great-Uncle of many.

My Dad was a kind-hearted man whom adored his granddaughter so, so much.  Dad, I will miss you, tell Grandma and Grandpa hi for me and congratulate Ron Santo for finally getting into the Hall of Fame.  I’m sorry that the Cubs fell short of winning it all in your lifetime.

Lois A. Claffey nee Hannam, age 85, of Elmhurst. Mrs. Claffey was the beloved wife of the late Thomas R.; loving mother of Thomas R. Jr. (Kelly L.) , Caroline (Raymond) Peterson, JoAnn (Charles) Barranco, Michael P. (Colleen) and cherished grandmother of Brittany, Greg, Shane, Kendall, and Tommy; and aunt and great aunt of many.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Hannam and her sister, Eleanor Hannam.

A visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of prayers at 10:15 AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St, Lombard, proceeding to Visitation Church for Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.

Alice Ghilardi, nee Latushko, age 90, of Madison, WI., formerly Lombard, died July 24 in Madison, WI.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 28 at 10AM at the First Church of Lombard, Maple Street Chapel.
Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, IL.

Mrs. Ghilardi is survived by a son, David (Rose) of Madison, WI. three daughters, Debra (John) Bloom of Mesa, AZ, Nancy (Jeff) Taylor of Glendale, WI, Jill (Glenn) Bridgewater; 8 grandchildren: Kristen (Ron) Masi, Lance Williamsen, Eric (Angela) Bloom, Jake Ghilardi, Katrina Bloom, Joe Ghilardi, Lindsay Taylor & Kara Bridgewater.
Mrs. Ghilardi is preceded in death by her husband, Victor, a daughter,Vicki Williamsen; a sister, Nadia Koenig and a brother, John Latushko.
Mrs. Ghilardi resided in Lombard from 1954 to 1989 and had lived in Winfield and Madison, WI. also. She was a former member of the Winfield Seniors and the First Church of Lombard. She reared 5 kids and was a gardener and a great cook.

Ruth G. Fredrick, age 96, of Lombard, died July 23 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Memorial Service is pending.

Interment  Tuesday, July 31 at Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton.

Mrs. Fredrick is survived by two grandchildren, Andrew D. (Jannica) of Naperville and Jeanine Fredrick of Oak Park.

Mrs. Fredrick is preceded in death by her husband, Verner; a son, Ronald David; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia and a grandson, Peter.

Mrs. Fredrick was born in Chicago, resided in Glen Ellyn for 40 years and Lombard for the last 24 years. She worked with her husband at Westmont Building Products. She was on the Social Committee at Beacon Hill, Lombard and was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church, Glen Ellyn.

JOSEPH F. HAROLD, age 85, of Lombard, died July 23 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, Illinois.

Visitation and Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 25 with Visitation from 9 AM to time of Prayers at 10:30 AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard, for 11 AM Mass.

Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, Illinois.

Mr. Harold is survived by many friends.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy.

Mr. Harold was a resident of Lombard for over 40 years.  He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War II.  Mr. Harold was a graduate of DePaul Academy High School and was a 1950 graduate of DePaul University.  Mr. Harold had retired in 1987 from American Greetings Corporation after 12 years as Account Executive Salesman.  He was a member of VFW Post #2801.

PATRICK  W. McDONALD, age 57, of West Chicago, formerly of Lombard, died July 20, at his home.

Brust Funeral Home to St. Pius Catholic Church, Lombard, for 10 AM  Mass.

Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery, Winfield, Illinois

Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife of 36 years, Debra nee Bourdage; his

niece, Cassy (Dan) St. Clair; his nephew, Staff Sergeant Timothy (Tiffany) St. Clair;

his father-in-law, Norman (Mary) Bourdage; his sister-in law, Noel Terrance; and his pets, Riley, Screamer, and Callie.

Mr. McDonald is preceded in death by his mother and father, Marion and Arthur McDonald; his brother Michael; and his mother-in-law Barbara Bourdage.

Mr. McDonald grew up in Lombard and graduated from Willowbrook High School in 1973, where he played on the football team. He worked for Dominick’s Finer Foods. Mr. McDonald was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. You could always find him in a Popeye T-shirt.

Norene A. Wadolny nee Voll, age 86 of Lombard. Passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 18. Beloved wife of 64 years to Donald. Mother of Donnette (Daniel) and Lynnette (Kenneth). Nana of Benjamin, Jason, Bradley, Matthew, and Jenna. Sister to Gerry (Linda) Voll.  A Memorial Service will be held at Beacon Hill Retirement Home Saturday, July 21, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.

KAROLYN DE LEON, nee Bodak, age 73, of Lombard, died July 9 at her home.

A private family Memorial Service will be held on July 22 in the Founders Room at the Morton Arboretum.

Mrs. DeLeon is survived by her son, Peter A. (Julie A.) of Lombard; two grandchildren, Jacob and Alaina; two sisters, Kathy (Darryl) Huber of Arizona, and Christine (Calvin) Blickle of Prospect Heights; her brother, George Bodak of Arizona; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Mrs. DeLeon was a retired 30 year employee of Queen Bee School District 16 in Glendale Heights.  She loved to travel, read, and had a passion for teaching children.

In lieu of flowers, the family has arranged a memorial fund to benefit the children’s section at the Helen Plum Library, 110 West Maple, Lombard, IL 60148.  Donations are sincerely appreciated.

Mrs. Qualkenbush is survived by her husband, Robert A.; her son, Stephen (Cheryl) of Nevada, her daughter, Beverly (Charles) Wilson of Washington; six (6) grandchildren, Robert V. (Roberta) Stahelin of Indiana, Adam (Melissa) Qualkenbush of Texas, Annette Stahelin of Chicago, Alan Qualkenbush of Texas, Charlie Wilson of Washington, and Darrell Wilson of Washington; three (3) great-grandchildren, Addison Qualkenbush, Mabel Stahelin, and Janice Stahelin; her sister, Dorothy (George) Bauer of Hoffman Estates; her sister-in-laws, Janet Liszewski of Arlington Heights, and Bonnie Liszewski of Des Plaines; and her brother-in-law, William Qualkenbush of Lombard.

Mrs. Qualkenbush is preceded in death by her daughter, Roberta M. (the late Jack) Stahelin; two brothers, Richard and Nicholas Liszewski; and her sister, Jeanne Qualkenbush.

Mrs. Qualkenbush was a resident of Lombard for 50 years.  She had celebrated 62 years of marriage.  Mrs. Qualkenbush was a homemaker.  Mrs. Qualkenbush was very active at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had also attended Christ the King Church.

Harriet Ann Glidden Beverley. Cherished wife of the late Thomas Albert. Devoted mother of Michael (D’Anna), Patricia (Pat) Patterson, Bill (Ilene), Bob (Casey), Mary (Jim) Plew, Joan (Jim) Izzo, David (Kate), Dennis (Danae), Danny (Anne), Anne (Jim) Donnellan, Kevin (Barb) and Jim (Kathy). Proud grandmother of 34 and fond great grandmother of 24. Loving sister of the late Benjamin Glidden Jr., Dodie (late Norm) Henning and the late Jodie Rezab Hudgens. Sister in law of the late Margaret (John) Tyne and the late Sister Louise Beverley O.S.P. Aunt, cousin and friend to many.  Daughter of the late Benjamin and Leila Glidden.

Harriet was born in Oak Park in 1922. Graduate of Oak Park-River Forest High School (1940) and Triton College (1974). She was a LPN at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital from 1974-1985. Longtime resident of Lombard, Bradenton, FL, Mayslake Village, Hinsdale, Sunrise Assisted Living in Naperville and recently Lexington Healthcare in Lake Zurich.

Funeral Saturday 9:15 am from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard to Sacred Heart Church for 10 am Mass. Burial will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation Friday 3-9 pm.

Harriet was a Eucharistic minister, Meals on Wheels Volunteer, member of the Third Order of St. Francis, election judge, Cub Scout troop leader, Maytag advertising pin-up, dinner incinerator, knitting instructor, geriatric bicyclist, soaper of mouths, dispenser of justice, inspiration of wit, antagonist of bigots, delight of caretakers and joy to her family.
