Dr. Carol R. Meyer MD nee Rehder, age 87, of Lombard, died November 30 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 8PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135
S.Main St. Lombard.
Dr. Meyer will be lying-in-state Tuesday from 9:30AM until time of service 10:30AM at the First Church of Lombard, 220 S. Main St. Lombard.
Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace,IL
Dr. Meyer is survived by her husband, Dr. Morgan M. Meyer MD, four sons, Dr. Paul MD (Pamela) of Lombard, Rev. Mark D. of CO, Pastor of Christ Episcopal Church, Canon City, CO., Steven J. (Maureen) of Lincolnshire & Daniel J. (Mary) of Wheaton, seven grandchildren, Jessica (Tonya) Meyer of Phoenix, AZ, Mark (Ann) of Wheaton, Matthew Meyer of Austin, TX, Logan Meyer of Wheaton, Morgan Meyer of Lincolnshire, Allison Meyer of Lincolnshire and Jack Meyer of Lincolnshire, one great-grandchild, Liam Meyer of Wheaton; a brother, Dr. Robert (Irene Thurston) Rehder PhD of New Mexico and the late Frederick Rehder, Charlotte Thoreson; brother-in-law, Bruce (the late Barbara) Sublette of Plainfield and Bernice (the late Harold) Meyer of Montana and many other relatives.
Dr. Carol Meyer was a resident of Lombard from 1952 to 1992, Glen Ellyn from 1992 to 2010 and Lombard from 2010 to 2012. She was born in Chicago and graduated from Calumet High School and Morgan Park Jr. College. She received her BS at Northwestern University in 1944.She married her husband in 1948. She graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago Medical School in 1949. Dr. Meyer practiced in Lombard from 1952 until she retired in 2000 Dr. Carol Meyer treated thousands of Lombard children and was much loved.. She was a co-founder of Meyer, Meyer & Albers Medical Group. She was also one of the founders of DuPage Medical Group (when her practice merged with others). She was a member of the DuPage County Medical Society. Dr. Meyer was a member of First Church of Lombard where she volunteered for many years with First Things First Infant Needs Program.
