Margot W. Fruehe

fruehe1 Margot W. Fruehe nee Birks, age 75 of Lombard, died June 30 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 2 from 3 pm to 9 pm at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday with prayers at 9:30 am at Brust Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a 10:00 am Mass. Interment is private.

Mrs. Fruehe is survived by her husband Donald, her daughters, Lisa Fruehe of Woodridge and Laura (Ken) Fanella of Huntley; her sons, John (Robin) Fruehe of Austin, TX and Matt Fruehe of Wheaton; her grandchildren: Bradley Fanella and Kristen Fanella both of Huntley; her sister Maureen (Bruce) Davis of Knox, Indiana; her brother-in-laws: Charles (Agnes), Thomas (Jane), William (Anne) Fruehe all of Lombard; many nieces and nephews; many friends and other relatives.

Mrs. Fruehe lived in Lombard for 51 years. She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Elmhurst. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education and her Master’s Degree in Library Science at Rosary College in River Forest. She taught Art and worked in the Franklin Park Library, Sacred Heart Library, Villa Park Library, Helen Plum Library, Morton Arboretum Library, and the Midwest College Library of Engineering.

She was a longtime member of the Lombard Historical Commission, Lombard Historical Society and recognized as an expert on homes in Lombard. She sang in the choir at Sacred Heart and was a member of CCW at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was also a campfire leader.

Kevin Michael Regan

ReganKevin Michael Regan journeyed to heaven 6-28-13. Dearest son of Marguerite “Peg” and the late John “Jack” Regan. Cherished brother of Marian (Robert) Wagner, John (Karen) Regan, Eileen (Steven) French, Marguerite Regan, Kathleen (Kevin) Dorsey and the late Martin. Beloved uncle of Maureen, Martin & Elizabeth Wagner, James & Caitlin French, John & Michael Regan, Megan, Erin & Liam Dorsey. Kevin is preceded in death by his father, John “Jack” Regan and a brother, Martin. Kevin was adored and loved by the caring, wonderful staff of the Adams Street Group Home in Marshfield, Wisconsin. His bright smile and obvious love for all, will be sorely missed. Funeral services Tuesday 9:30AM from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St to St. Pius X Church for 10AM Mass. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 2, from 4pm to 9pm at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 3, lying-in-state from 10 am until time of service at 11am at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 350 E. Madison, Lombard. Interment will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Mrs. Hovorka is survived by her husband, James J. Jr.; her son, James M. of Lombard; her brother James (Veronica) Wray of Lindenhurst; her brother-in-law, Donald Hovorka of Phoenix, Arizona, and her sister-in-law, Jeannette Hovorka of Aurora; aunt and great aunt of many.

Mrs. Hovorka is preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon ; her son, Steven; her brother-in-law, Earl J.Hovorka and her sister-in-law, MaryAnn Hovorka.

Mrs. Hovorka was a resident of Lombard for 64 years. She was a chairwoman of Grace Civic Lodge where she was a volunteer and was also in charge of the entertainment. Mrs. Hovorka ran the dances and Bingo for the organization. She was a Community Person for the Lombard Countryside Farmettes as well as a member of the Beautification Committee.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 29 from 9AM TO 11AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St. Lombard.
Interment will be at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst.
Mrs. Hackman is survived by a daughter, Jean (Roy) Harding; grandson, Gary Harding of West Chicago; a granddaughter, Cheryl (Gary) Meger of Lombard and a great-grandson, Tim (Anne) Meger.

Mrs. Hackman is preceded in death by her husband, Russell.

Mrs. Hackman was mainly a housewife and loved to travel. She loved flowers and feeding animals. She was an avid piano player and enjoyed playing for the residence of DuPage Convalescent Center.

Mrs. Lenzi is survived by four daughters, Laura (John) Nixon of Algonquin,IL., Roberta ‘Bobbi’ Isadore of Somonauk,IL. Margaret ‘Peggy’ (James) Johnson of San Diego,CA., and Nancy (Patrick) Meyers of Glen Ellyn and one son, Mark (Liza) of Bloomingdale, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; a sister of Vera Cavone of Somonauk; two brothers, Fred Cesaretti of FL and Richard (Kelly) Cesaretti of Lemont, IL; aunt of many and many other relatives.

Mrs. Lenzi was a resident of Lombard for 63 years. She graduated from Marshall High School in Chicago. She was an Executive Secretary for Official Airlines Guides and retired 10 years ago after 26 years of service.
She was active at Sacred Heart Church. She loved crochetting, sewing and cooking. She was the former owner of Pizza Palace in Lombard from 1955 to 1964; Lando’s Restaurant in Winfield from 1966 to 1968 and Lan’s Pizza Pantry in Lombard from 1968 to 1978.

Nancy A. Rudins, 59 of Champaign, IL, formerly of Lombard

Nancy A. Rudins, 59 of Champaign, IL formerly of Lombard, IL died Monday June 17 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Nancy grew up in Lombard, IL, the daughter of the late John and Jane Rudins. Loving sister of John J Jr, Sally A, David J, James A (Donna), Carolyn M Casper, Mark J (Tina), the late Judith A and the late Susan M. Dear Aunt of Carly, Marcy, Joshua, and Sarah, and long time devoted friend of Pat Rhoades.
Nancy studied electronics and computer science at Parkland College in Champaign and retired after many years as a System Administrator at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications
at the University of Illinois. Nancy also loved music, whether listening to her favorite recordings of the Beatles or playing guitar. Her love of animals was an important part of her life and her current
pet family will miss her also.
Interment will be private. Donations may be directed to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Illinois Chapter, 525 W Monroe St, Chicago, IL 60661.

Mrs. Ebner is survived by her husband, Rodney Gernenz of Tennessee; a son, Michael (Anna) Ebner of Lombard, 3 daughters; Jennifer Ebner of San Diego, Laura Ebner of Baltimore, MD. and Nicole Ebner of Lombard; two grandchildren, Ava and Anthony Ebner of Lombard; her mother, Angela Lanucha of Chicago; a brother, Richie Lanucha of Chicago; two sisters, Joann Lanucha of Chicago and Cheryl Lanucha of Downers Grove.

Jolanta is preceded in death by her first husband, Anthony and her father, Joseph.

Jolanta grew up in Oak Lawn, IL  and attended Lourdes High School. She resided in Tennessee for the past 14 years and was married to Rodney Gernenz for 13 years. She was an antique collector.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 12 at 10:30 AM at Brust Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.

Bernice is survived by her sister, Lydia DeJong of Lombard; her brother, Larry (Alane) of St. Charles; her brother-in-law, Paul Wood of Wheaton; eight nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, Willy and Sylvia Larsen of Glen Ellyn; her sister, Norine Wood; and her brother-in-law, Harley DeJong.

Bernice was a resident of Lombard for 11 years and was formerly of Glen Ellyn 70 years, where she grew-up.  She was a 1949 graduate of Glenbard West High School.  Bernice had worked for the First Star Bank (formerly DuPage) in Glen Ellyn and also the Glen Ellyn Savings and Loan.  She had retired in the 1990’s.  Bernice was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church York Center.  She was the ‘Chairman of Human Care’ at church and driving the seniors.  Bernice had also been on the Board of Education, the Board of Stewardship, and a member of the Mary Martha Guild at church.

IRENE HALICKA, age 76, of Lombard, died June 3 at her home.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 6 with prayers at 10 AM from Brust Funeral Home to St. Pius X Catholic Church, Lombard, for 10:30 AM Mass.

Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park, Illinois.

Irene is survived by her sister, Helen Mazanec; and her nephews, Mark and Paul Mazanec.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents, Antonia and Anton; her brother, Joseph; and her brother-in-law, Norman Mazanec.

Irene was a resident of Lombard 36 years.  She was a 50 year employee of CNA Insurance.  Irene was a 35-year member of St. Pius X Church and was a member of The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Renew Prayer Group and the VIP’s.  She volunteered at the West Suburban Humane Society, the Daisy Basket at Good Samaritan Hospital and the PADS (Providing Advocacy, Dignity and Shelter) organization.
