GRACE M. MILLER, nee DeMasi, age 86, of Lombard, died August 28 at Beacon Hill, Lombard, Illinois.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 3 from 3 to 9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 4 with prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard, for 10 AM Mass.
Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.

Mrs. Miller is survived by three children, Janet L. Miller of Lombard, Gail (Tim) Kueper of Joliet, and Karen Enzminger of Yorkville; six (6) grandchildren; ten (10) great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.
Mrs. Miller is preceded in death by her husband, John W.; her son-in-law, Kurt Enzminger; and 9 brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Miller was a resident of Lombard since 1996 and was formerly of Hillside. She was a 1944 graduate of Morten East High School. Mrs. Miller had attended Christ the King Church in Lombard.

GERRY C. ARNOLD, nee Gray, age 85, of Lombard, died August 26 at her home.

Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 6, at 11 AM, at First Church of Lombard, 220 South Main Street, Lombard.
Interment Private at the First Church of Lombard.

Mrs. Arnold is survived by three children, Andy (Sue) of Chesterton, Indiana, Pam Costakis of Lisle, and Don (Ann) of Campbell, California; four grandchildren, Nick (Helen) Costakis of Lisle, Thomas (Fiancé, Cleo Spilman) Arnold of San Jose, California, Maddy Arnold of Campbell, California, and Cheyenne Arnold of Campbell, California; her brother, Joseph (Joy) Gray of Michigan City, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Arnold is preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. “Dick” Arnold; and her sister, Leslie Rogers.

Mrs. Arnold was a resident of Lombard since 1949. She grew up in Chicago and was a graduate of Northern Illinois University. She had been married for 58 years. Mrs. Arnold had been a teacher at Lincoln School and Westlake Jr. High, both in Lombard. She was a member of the Lombard Rotary Ann’s and a former volunteer for Love Letters in Lombard. She was very active at First Church of Lombard, including Walk in Ministries, PADS, Outreach Ministry at Lexington, and did many service projects including knitting soft caps for servicemen overseas. Mrs. Arnold’s late husband was the former Lombard Village President.

GRACE M. NOWAK, age 84, of Lombard, died August 26 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, Illinois.

Visitation and Funeral Service will be Wednesday, August 28, with Visitation from 8:30 AM to time of Prayers at 10:30 AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday with prayers at 10:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home to Christ The King Church, Lombard, for 11 AM Mass.
Interment will be at St. Boniface Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois.

Mrs. Nowak is survived by six children, Charles, Jr., Carl (Suzanne), Jane (Michael) Newman, Diane (Susan), Joyce (Kevin) Nowak, Indira (Gary) Brigham; eight (8) grandchildren; and her brother, Richard (Sandy) King.
Mrs. Nowak is preceded in death by her husband, Charles.

Mrs. Nowak was formerly of Crown Point, Indiana and Oak Lawn, Illinois. She loved to play Scrabble with her club and was a member of the Beacon Hill Book Club.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 23 at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St. Lombard from 11AM until time of service 12:30 PM.

Interment  Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst.

 

Mrs. Perkins is survived by her husband Lincoln of 30 years; a daughter, Bonnie L. Santi, two sons, William L. (Barbara) Shultz of Glen Ellyn and Ricky R. (Debra) Shultz of Lombard; 8 grandchildren, Dr. William R. (Annika) Shultz, Robert W. (Laurie) Shultz, Kimberly J. (Branigan) Robertson, Taryn A. Shultz, Ricky J. (Fiancee Emily Ebel) Shultz, Jordan L. Shultz, Kara Ann Vedros & Cassandra L. Vedros; 4 great-grandchildren, William Benjamin Shultz, Jack Gregory Shultz, Reese Christine Shultz & Scarlett Jean Robertson and one step-son, Charles L. Perkins.

Ellen was a Volunteer at Central DuPage Hospital for many years. She was Co-founder of A to Z Auto Repair, Inc., Villa Park, with her first husband, William Edward Shultz in 1958. She worked for Morton Arboretum for 20 years in the gift shop; managed Honey Bear Farms in Carson Pirie Scott & Co., Yorktown; Volunteer and managed a restaurant in O’Hare Airport for several years. She was also an Easter Seal Volunteer.

She was a resident of The Meadows in Glen Ellyn. Her primary interest was her family. She had a passion for world travel visiting Africa, South America; Europe and always encouraged people to live life saying to all, “Do It While You Can.” She had a strong Christian Faith and attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Naperville. She enjoyed sharing stories of her youth in Chicago where her parents owned and ran Ellen’s Grocery Store, on Chicago’s North side, a few blocks from Riverview Amusement Park. Ellen often revisited the time when as a teenager, she was stuck up high on the malfunctioning Parachute Ride.  Ellen attended Luther Institute, the first Lutheran High School in Chicago.

June F. Milcezny, nee Wettour, age 91, of Lombard

JUNE F. MILCEZNY, age 91, of Lombard, died August 19 at Elmhurst Extended Care, Elmhurst, Illinois.

Memorial Services pending at a later date at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard. 

Interment Private at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Mrs. Milcezny is survived by her son, James (Patricia) of Villa Park; two granddaughters, Laurie (Leonard) Merritt of Florida, and Lisa (Dean) Dresel of Romeoville; and seven (7) great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Milcezny is preceded in death by her husband, Frank L.; and her brother, Robert Wettour.

Mrs. Milcezny was a resident of Lombard since 1956.  She was a graduate of Farragut High School in Chicago.  Mrs. Milcezny had retired from Providence Washington Insurance Company in 1984.

Born March 17th, 1940, Passed away on Aug 10th, 2013 at the age of 73 after a short illness. She live the last few years of her life at California Gardens in Chicago but was formerly of Berwyn & Cicero. She was the beloved daughter of the late Wallace & Valerie, caring wife of the late Newton Henry Archer, loving mother of Timothy James Reynolds & grandmother of Jordan Russell, fond sister of Kenneth Kremer, Joan Crosse, the late Wallace Kremer & the late Barbara Munday, dear niece of the Moore’s and loving aunt to the Kremer’s, Crosse’s, Munday’s, Zak’s and Gillespie’s. Mr. Rees is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rosemary B. Rees nee Bruck.  He was a loving father to Robert A. (Carol); Richard D., MD; Russell E., MD (Deborah); Ruthann F., MD, PhD; Rosemary G. (Jay) McCormick; Regina K. (Thomas) Baumann; Rachel I. (Patrick) Benner; and R. John and proud grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of 4.

 Mr. Rees was a resident of Lombard for 57 years and a WWII Army Vet.  He was a long-time parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish and the Plant Engineer for Spiegel, Inc. and a graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology.
