Bernard J. Weir, age 82, of Lombard, Korean War Veteran

BERNARD J. WEIR, age 82, Veteran Korean War, died October 28 at his home.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 1, from 3 to 9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 2 with prayers at 10:15 AM from Brust Funeral Home to St. Pius X Catholic Church, Lombard for 11 AM Mass.

Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.

Mr. Weir is survived by his wife, Anne M., nee Cortez; six daughters, Karen McDonald of Elgin, Kathleen Rice of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, Debra (Dan) Kinkade of Bartlett, Jacqueline (Marc) Krefft of Lisle, Mary Beth Busch, and Susan (Brad) Morgan of Lombard; 12 Grandchildren, Jennifer Teague of Elgin, Nicholas Teague of Gilberts, Melissa Gavalek of Elgin, Michelle Barth of Bensenville, Patrick Krefft of Addison, Tom Busch of Montgomery, Jessica Busch of New Mexico, Frank McDonald of Chicago, Ryan Busch of Lombard, Alex Morgan of Ohio, Hannah Morgan of Ohio, and Jeremy Morgan of Ohio; and two great-grandchildren, Jolene and Tristan.

Mr. Weir was a resident of Lombard 53 years.  He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War.  Mr. Weir was a Member of Villa Park VFW Post #2801.  He was a retired Electrician from IBEW Local #9.  Mr. Weir was a member of St. Pius X Church in Lombard.

Jane Ida Williams, age 88, a longtime resident of Lombard

Jane Ida Williams, age 88, a longtime resident of Lombard, peacefully passed on October 25, 2013.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:15 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Jane is survived by her two sons, Steven (Marge), James (Marla); three daughters, Susan Fishburn, Patricia (Roger) Ford, and Constance Williams; her sister, Nancy Miller of Davis, California; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Jack. They were married for 61 years.

 Jane was born in Newburgh, New York in 1925. She and her family moved to Illinois in 1960, and she was a Lombard resident for the last 47 years.

Visitation will be Monday, October 21 from 3 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home,

135 South Main Street, Lombard. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, October 22 at 10 AM at Brust Funeral Home. Interment will be at Elm Lawn Cemetery.

 Marvin is survived by his wife Marjorie nee Egan; his children, Sandra ( Robert)

Fanella, Andrea (Martin) Draths, Mark (Tina) Fleege and Christopher (Sarah) Fleege; fourteen grandchildren, Corinne (Daniel) Benjamin, Christopher (Angela) Fanella, Patrick (Leah) Fanella, Anne Fanella, Maureen (David) Isphording, Elizabeth and Laura Draths, Jason, Michael, James, Caroline, Lucas, Justin, and Elliot Fleege; nine great-grandchildren, Mikayla, David, Julia, Sophia, Andrew, James, Jenson, Emily, and Margaret.

 Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Harry D. and Ellen Fleege; and his sister, Grace Nicklas.

 Marvin was a lifelong resident of Lombard. He attended St. John’s Lutheran Grammar School and Glenbard High School in Glen Ellyn. Marvin served as Corporal in the U.S. Army in the military police. He was a gifted athlete and lifelong sports enthusiast who enjoyed baseball, basketball, bowling, golf, and pool.Marvin was a family man who had many wonderful friends throughout his life. Everyone who knew him, loved him. Those of us left behind feel blessed to have had him in our lives.

BowlingCHARLES “CHUCK” J.  BOWLING, age 59, of Lombard, formerly of the Southside of Chicago, died October 18, at home.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.  Funeral services Wednesday with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at Brust Funeral Home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at Sacred Heart Church, Lombard.  Interment,Resurrection Cemetery. We will meet at the cemetery gate at 12 noon.        

 Mr. Bowling is survived by his wife Rosanne M. nee Nowak; his daughters:  Jennifer L. (Javen) Humphrey of Wheaton and Melanie M. of DeKalb; his siblings Peg Grimm of Orland Park and Patti (Henry) Pietrazak of Chicago; his sister-in-law Renee of Charlotte, NC; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents John and Marie nee Calus; his niece Dana Ploski; his brother Ted; and his brother-in-law Chuck Grimm. 

 Mr. Bowling was a member of the Carpenters Local 10 of Lombard for 37 years.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

Raymond E. Nerad, age 90, of Lombard, formerly of Hillside, World War II Veteran

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 17 from 3 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Funeral will be Friday, October 18 with prayers at 9 AM from Brust Funeral Home to Christ The King Church, Lombard, for 9:30 AM Mass.  Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.

Mr. Nerad is survived by three children, Roy (Cathy) of Oswego, Gary (Debbie) of Colorado, and Rita (Chuck) Welker of Villa Park; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Tyler, Jason, Andrew, and Daniel; one great-grandchild, Matthew; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Mr. Nerad is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth E. nee Kedzie; two brothers, Robert and Roger; and his sister, Florence.

Mr. Nerad had retired as a 40-year employee of Western Electric and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.  He had been a volunteer for the Hillside Fire Department and a past Civil Defense Director.  Mr. Nerad was a member of the Hillside Seniors Club.  He loved to play softball and horseshoes.

Howard E. DeCamp, age 80, of Lombard

HOWARD DE CAMP, age 80, of Lombard, died October 12 at Arden Courts of Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 26 at 11 AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard, followed by a 1:30 PM Memorial Service.

Inurnment will be in Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, Iowa.

Mr. DeCamp is survived by his wife, Jannes; three children, Jennifer (Rick Mascarella) Brown, Marcy (Douglas) Kline, and Timothy (Renee) DeCamp; and six grandchildren, Evan, Mason, Sawyer, Sydney, Logan and Sara.

Mr. DeCamp is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert.

A graduate of Cornell College and Northern Illinois University, Howard was a longtime educator in Glen Ellyn School District #41.  He was the recipient of three (3) National Science Foundation grants for summer study.  He taught at Hadley Junior High School, was a Principal at Main Street School, and prior to retirement in 1990, principal at Churchill Elementary.  Howard was an avid fisherman and golfer, and an extensive traveler.  He was a U.S. Veteran having served in the Army in Korea.

Agnes M. Nigro, of Lombard, formerly of Villa Park

Agnes M. Nigro of Lombard, formerly of Villa Park, survived by her son Michael (Judith) Nigro, daughter Christine (Marc) Copper,  and grandchildren Gina (Christophe) Masson, Sarah (Neil) Bodo,  and Dr. Phillip (Eva) Nigro.  Great grandchildren Joseph, Emilie, Lea, Sylvia, Eila, Eli, and Alexander.

 Agnes was born  in 1925 in Covington, KY and passed away October 9, 2013. Agnes served in the Women’s Air Corp in WWII.

 Agnes was married to Joseph Nigro for 54 years. He passed away in 2001.

 Agnes loved the Cubs, politics, swimming, travel, and being with people.

George Ushytko, age 90, of Lombard

Ushytko, GeorgeGeorge Ushytko, age 90, of Lombard, died on October 5, 2013.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 8th from 3 to 7 pm at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, October 9th (service time still pending) at Brust Funeral Home. Interment will be private.

Mr. Ushytko is survived by his wife, Kathleen nee Poglitsch; his three daughters, Michelle (Steve) Gamble of Nevada, Daria (William Hogan) Ushytko of Joliet, and Alicia Good of Florida; and six grandchildren, Sonja, Sara, Keegan, Elliott, Freda, and Reid.

Mr. Ushytko was preceded in death by two brothers.

He was born in Ukraine and was conscripted in the Russian Army where he became a POW in Germany. Mr. Ushytko came to the United States in 1947and was married for 52 years. He was a resident of Lombard for 50 years and a member of Carpenter’s Union #181. Mr. Ushytko was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Chicago.

Susan E. Mika, age 68, of Mount Dora, Florida,

Susan E. Mika, age 68, of Mount Dora, Florida, died Thursday, October 3, 2013.
She is survived by her sister Patricia A. Maruda, of Lombard; two nieces, Michelle A. Maruda of Lombard and Lisa K. Maruda of Naperville; and a great-nephew, Brayden Maruda Kois of Naperville.
Susan was born in Elmhurst, Illinois. She attended Roosevelt University in Chicago, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Susan went on to DePaul University in Chicago to receive her Master’s Degree in Taxation. She received her CPA in 1976.
Susan moved to Florida in 1994. She enjoyed many activities including gardening,
literature, movies, and playing games with her many friends.

Funeral services will be Friday Lying in- state from 10 AM until time of service 11AM  at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 350 E. Madison, Lombard

Interment is Private.

Mr. McCarthy is survived by his wife Cynthia M. nee Reiners ; two children, Zachary  and Brittany of Lombard; his mother, Nancy L. McCarthy; 3 sisters, Mary McCarthy of Berkeley, Margaret  (Michael) Walker of Chicago, Liz McCarthy of Warrenville; a brother, James R. Jr. of Grayslake,IL., 18 nieces and nephews; 11 great- nieces and nephews; his mother & father-in-law, Richard & Shirley Reiners of WI. 3 sister-in-laws, Debbie (Dietmar} Saegebrecht of Arlington Heights, IL., Cheryl (Brian) Johnson of N.Y., Mary (John) Addante of Addison and a brother-in-law, Richard Reiners of WI.

Mr. McCarthy resided in Lombard for 15 years. He grew up in Elmhurst. . He  graduated from York High School in 1980. He was Assistant Scout Leader for Boy Scout Troop 202. He was a machinist at Chucking Machine Products, Franklin Park over 25 years.  He was an avid fisherman, hunter, Nascar fan and loved cigars. He was a good and caring husband, father, son and brother.
