Patsy Ann Scalzitti, age 66, of Villa Park

ScalzittiPatsy Ann Scalzitti, age 66, of Villa Park, died suddenly, August 30, at Loyola Hospital.

Visitation will be held Wednesday 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard to St. Pius X, 1025 E. Madison, Lombard, IL 60148 for 11 AM Mass.  Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.

Patsy is survived by her dear cousins, Rita (Brian) Darovic of Florida, Linda (Douglas) Wallin of Wisconsin, and Diane Casaccio of Elmwood Park; their seven children and many friends.

Patsy is preceded in death by her loving parents, Henry and Patsy, and her sister, Luciette and one cousin.

Patsy lived in Villa Park since 1952.  Her parents were charter members of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She attended St. Pius X Grade School.  She too was a very active member of St. Pius X.  She graduated from St. Francis High School in Wheaton.  She retired from the State of Illinois as a receptionist.  She loved photography and won several awards.  She was a member of a local camera club.  She enjoyed playing the organ and occasionally played the organ for St. Pius X Church.

Coletta C. Novak nee Gundlach, age 83, of Lombard

NovakColetta C. Novak, (nee Gundlach) age 83, died August 27, 2014 at home with her husband of 61years and five children at her bedside. At 3:45 AM Coletta left this valley of tears to enter the realm of, “the eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it entered the heart of man what God has prepared for those who love Him”.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 3PM to 8PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Funeral Service will be Wednesday with prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home to Christ the King Church, 1501 South Main Street, Lombard, for 10:00 AM mass. Internment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.

Coletta is survived by her husband Gene; her five children, Gary(Marla), Nancy (Jim) Banner, Laura, Karen, and Greg; grandchildren Jessica, Christopher (Megan), Matthew, and Lindsay; great-grandson Jaden; and her brother Dr. Walter Gundlach of Hastings, NE.

Coletta is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Cecelia, and her brother Raymond.

Coletta’s life was oriented to self-less loving service to her family, friends, and neighbor. She was a long term volunteer for Meals On Wheels bringing food to the home-bound, often staying to visit those in need of companionship and even preparing a needed meal. She also compassionately assisted in transporting people suffering with cancer to their treatments. She was an active member of Christ the King and St. John Vianney parishes.

Coletta was truly a follower of Christ in whom she placed her trust.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 PM to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Funeral Service will be Thursday with prayers at 9:15 AM from Brust Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St, Lombard for 10 AM Mass. Interment will be private.

Kathy is survived by her mother, Margaret nee Brodie; two brothers, Thomas J. II (Linda) of Lombard and James A. of Springfield; two nieces, Michelle (Ben) Radloff of Naperville and Amy Hanlon of Lombard; three nephews, Thomas III of Lombard, Tony of Lombard and James of Springfield; two great-nephews, A.J. and Jaxson and one great-niece, Audri; and aunt, Dolores Walsh of Wheaton.

Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Thomas J. I.

Kathy grew up in Oak Park and Lombard. She graduated from Glenbard East High School where she was Valedictorian of her class. Kathy graduated from Knox College in Galesburg, IL. She moved to Springfield, IL and worked as a Computer Programmer for the Keane Company. Kathy loved animals and was very close to her family.

Frank V. Rizzo, age 86

RizzoFrank V. Rizzo, age 86, died August 22, 2014 in Surprise, Arizona.

Visitation will be Thursday, 3 PM to 9PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Funeral Service will be Friday with prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St, Lombard, for 10 AM Mass. Interment will follow at All Saint’s Cemetery in DesPlaines, IL.

Frank was born August 12, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Vito Giuseppe and Lauretta (Rizzi) Rizzo. On September 15, 1956 he married his one true love of almost 58 years, Laverne Alice Rizzo (nee Kostner). Frank had the great fortune to spend the last 20 years retired from the Sewer and Water Main construction career that he loved and knew so well. He was a master at his work…and a master craftsman at heart. His family was his absolute priority and his inspiration for success as a husband, provider and father. At the end of his life, his wife was his final priority…to his last breathe.

Frank is survived by his four children, Joseph James Rizzo and his wife Candace (Swenson), James Matthew Rizzo and his wife Mary (Barone), Donna Marie Hartzler (Rizzo) and husband Brian Hartzler and Linda Rizzo; seven grandchildren, Francis Rizzo, Natalie Rizzo, Dana Rizzo, Dominic DeCarlis, Gina DeCarlis, Nicholas Hartzler and Christina Hartzler. Frank is also survived by his two siblings, Nick Rizzo and his wife, Anne of River Grove and Sophie Caccamo and her husband Bruno of Bloomingdale and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Anthony Rizzo and his precious and beloved daughter, Loretta Rizzo who passed away November 15, 1985.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

Mrs. Bultema is survived by her husband, Clarence Jr.; and her son, Jeff of Lombard.

Mrs. Bultema is preceded in death by her brother, James Ford.

Mrs. Bultema had lived in Lombard for 31 years. She graduated from Evergreen High School. Mrs. Bultema formerly worked for Commonwealth Edison.

John P. Olson, age 51, of Lombard, suddenly,  died August 23rd at his home.

Mr. Olson is survived by his wife, Caryn M. nee Bright; his two children, Celina Bright of Lombard and Kyle Olson of Lombard; his in-laws, Charles and Mary Lou Bright of Cicero; his siblings Bernie (Stephanie) of Brookfield, Nancy (Vic) Kruppenbacher of Florida, Eric of Chicago; and three nephews.

Mr. Olson grew up in Brookfield and graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1981. He had lived in Lombard since 1990. Mr. Olson was a member of the Laborer’s Union #25 in Chicago. He was a Civil War reenactor for Stanford’s Battery in Lombard. Mr. Olson was an announcer for Falcon Football.

Sara M. George nee Schuning, age 54, of Lombard, died August 18 at Loyola Hospital.

Sara is survived by her three children, Elizabeth (Marco) Sanchez of Lombard, Charles Steegmuller of Lombard and Ramona George of Oregon; three grandchildren, Marco Sanchez Jr., Ethan Sanchez and Isabella Sanchez; three brothers, Eugene (Kathy) Schuning of West Chicago, Timothy Schuning of Lombard, Mark (Becky) Schuning of Lombard; and her mother Ramona Schuning of Lombard.

Sara is preceded in death by her father, Dan Schuning.

Sara grew up in Plano and Lisle, attending Plano Elementary School and Lisle Jr. High.  She graduated from Benet High School. Sara attended Illinois Benedictine College, the University of Iowa and received her RN degree at Kishwaukee School of Nursing.  She had formerly worked at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.

Linda is survived by her mother, Mary (James) Kenneavy of Arizona; ten (10) brothers and sisters, James (Ruben) Beckwith of Puerto Rico, Arzie Beckwith of Arizona, Patty Burger of Arizona, Kathy Hicks of Bartlett, John (Jane) Beckwith of Wheaton, Sharyl (Dan) Toynton of Huntley, Ken (Rebbecca) Beckwith of Lombard, Larry (Susan) Beckwith of Arizona, Annie Militello (Tony Bahrs) of West Chicago, and Cynthia (Scott) Picco of Arizona; her long-time friend, Cindy Peebler of Wheaton; and many nieces and nephews.

Linda is preceded in death by her father, Alfred James Beckwith.

Linda was born in Chicago and grew-up in Villa Park.  She was a graduate of Addison Trail High School.  Linda was a C.N.A., Certified Nurses Assistant.  She was a Poet and a writer.  Linda loved cats, animals, and the elderly.  Linda will be remembered for her loving and caring heart which touched so many.

 

Allen Studzinski, age 54, of Lombard

ALLEN STUDZINSKI, age 54, of Lombard, died suddenly August 14 at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, Illinois.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 20 from 3 to 8 pm at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 21 with prayers at 10:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home to St. Pius X Church for 11 AM Mass.

Interment Private.

Mr. Studzinski is survived by his brother, Wesley of Lombard and many friends.

Mr. Studzinski is preceded in death by his parents, Sophie and Stanley Studzinski.

Mr. Studzinski was a lifelong resident of Lombard.  He had attended Westmore Grade School, Jackson Jr. High, and was a 1979 graduate of Willowbrook High School.  Mr. Studzinski received his B.S. in Math, Philosophy, Physiology, and Computer Science from the University of Illinois in Chicago.  He attended various graduate schools and received his Master’s Degree in Food Nutrition.  He had worked for 30 years for NOW Foods as a Nutritionist.  Mr. Studzinski loved computers, astronomy, science, math, and the search for truth.

FinnRobert F. Finn, 78, of Lombard, formerly of Westchester, died on Friday, August 15th in his home. He was born January 2, 1936 in Chicago, son of John and Violet Finn.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held from 3pm-9pm Monday, August 18th at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. On Tuesday, August 19 th, there will be prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home to Christ the King Church, 1501 S. Main St, Lombard,  for 10 AM Mass. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Diane Finn; three sons Bob (Cindy) Finn, Larry (Laurie) Finn, and Ed Finn; grandchildren Colleen (Ross) Kutter, Bobby Finn, Amy Finn, Amanda Finn, Ryan Finn, and Kelly Finn. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, John and Violet, and brother John B. Finn Jr.
