ROBERT E. RETEL, age 83, of Wheaton

Beloved husband of the late Carol V., nee Roepke. Loving father of Eileen, Paul (Christine), Bruce, Mark (Polly) and the late Wayne Mark. Cherished grandfather of Megan, Tyler, Caroline and Nathaniel Robert.  Uncle and great uncle of many.   Mr. Retel grew up in Chicago and was a resident of Wheaton for 45 years.  He received a bachelors and master’s degree from the University of Illinois.  Mr. Retel enjoyed a career as a high school teacher, soccer and swimming coach.  He was a Member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lombard for 45 years where he served as an Elder.  He was a Member of EAA Chapter 579 Fox Valley Sport Aviation Association.  He was a Volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.  His hobbies included family, traveling, bicycling, gardening, and reading. Visitation Wednesday 3-8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St. Lombard. Funeral Service Thursday 9:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran York Center (corner of Roosevelt and Westmore/Meyers Road) Lombard. IRENE REHM, age 99, of Lombard

Monday, March 30th, 2015

RehmIrene Rehm, age 99, of Lombard, passed away on March 24, 2015, at Beacon Hill in Lombard. She was married to the late Leo Rehm for 58 years.  Irene is survived by her two daughters, Judith Ann ( Bernard) LeDoux of Naples, Florida and Cecelia (Peter) Nelson of Riverside, Illinois; her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Lucas) Nelson-Sifuentes of Chicago and Theresa Nelson of Riverside.

Irene was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 2, 1916. She was the youngest of 10 children.  After marrying Leo in 1940 they settled in Chicago although they moved frequently for Leo’s work until 1948 when then purchased their first home in Flowerfield, Illinois.  They later moved to River Forest, Illinois and lived there for 40 years.  In 1994 they moved to Beacon Hill in Lombard.  Mrs. Rehm and her husband traveled extensively.  She volunteered for several community charities and loved to paint, dance, play bridge, read and listen to music.

A memorial gathering will be held by the family at a later date.

Lawrence W. Brossard, age 70, of Lombard

Lawrence W. Brossard, age 70, of Lombard, passed away March 27, at his home.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 12 Noon at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Cemetery in Northlake.

Mr. Brossard is survived by his wife, Therese; his parents, Ina (William) Mackey and Lloyd (the late Fern)Brossard; his siblings, Kathy (John) Hauber and Billy (Lori) Mackey; many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Brossard was preceded in death by his brother, Dick.

Mr. Brossard was a resident of Lombard for 40 years. He had been married for 40 years to his wife, Therese. Mr. Brossard was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in Germany and Vietnam.  He was awarded a Purple Heart. Mr. Brossard worked for the Glen Ellyn Post Office for 40 years. He loved newspapers and was an avid fan of the Cubs and the Beatles. Mr. Brossard was a member of the American Legion.

Joanne Baehr, nee Diana, age 56, of Lombard

Bahr, JoanneJOANNE BAEHR, nee Diana, age 56, of Lombard, died March 25 at her home.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 29 from 2 to 7 pm at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Funeral Service will be Monday, March 30 at 10 am at Brust Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Arlington Cemetery, Elmhurst, Illinois.

Mrs. Baehr is survived by her son, Jeff Moore of Chicago; her daughter, Cheryl (Enrico Natale) Moore of Tarzana, California; her sisters, Susan (Don) Rago , and Marian Costello; her brother, Tom (Jill) Diana; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Baehr is preceded in death by her husband, David; and her parents, Leo and Angela, nee DeMatteo Diana.

Mrs. Baehr was born in Chicago and attended Mother Guerin High School.  She loved woodworking and gardening.  Mrs. Baehr was a lover of animals.

William G. “Will” Chovan, age 50, of Lombard

ChovanWilliam G. Chovan, age 50, of Lombard, died Wednesday, March 18, at RML Hospital in Hinsdale, IL.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 28, with a visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 Noon at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.

William is survived by his children, Joseph, Bryan and Taryn; his sisters, Jacqueline (Ron) Kirsch and Desiree (Henry) Krusec; his nieces and nephews, Desiree Kirsch, Jennifer O’Rourke, Angela Schwartz, Katherine Costello, Tony Kirsch, Leo Kirsch, Rachel Krusec, Veronica Kirsch, Jennifer Farnsworth, Gregory Farnsworth, Tommy Haggerty, Amy and Steven LaVallie; his sister-in-law, Denise (Jim) Farnsworth and mother-in-law, Delores Wasil.

William is preceded in death by his wife, Donna, his parents, Joseph and Helen Chovan; and his nephew, Ronald Kirsch.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 PM – 8PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Funeral Service will be Thursday at 10 AM at Brust Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.

Mr. Stahmer is survived by his children, Patricia (Thomas) Gerloski of Carol Stream, Sandy (Richard) Zamrzla of Naperville and Susan (David) Salvesen of Naperville; his grandchildren, Lucas (Melissa) of Aurora, Daniel (Sari) of Naperville, Jeremy (Jessica) of Aurora, Heather of Carol Stream and Thomas J. of Carol Stream; his great-grandchildren, Paxton and Rowan; his sister-in-law, Florence Sayre of Florida and his brother-in-law, Melvin (Andrea) of Sleepy Hollow.

Mr. Stahmer is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary H. nee Gauger.

Mr. Stahmer was born in Wheaton and moved to Lombard as an infant, where he lived his entire life. Mr. Stahmer graduated from Lincoln School and attended Glenbard West High School. He was married to his beloved wife, Rosemary, for 53 years. Mr. Stahmer was a master mechanic in Lombard. He worked first at Pure Oil Gas Station on Main St. and Parkside St., then Union 76 on Main St., and finally Roy’s Auto Repair on Willow St., retiring in 1994. Mr. Stahmer was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and was a member of Moose Lodge in Lombard. He was the best dad ever!

Judy Cipov nee Phipps, of Lombard

Cipov, j1Judy Cipov nee Phipps, of Lombard, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, March 19th.

Visitation will be held Tuesday 3 PM to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard, IL 60148.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 10 AM at Brust with Interment following at Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton, IL.

Mrs. Cipov is survived by her two sons, Mark (Stacy) and Scott (Jodi); her grandchildren:  Lexie, Brandon, Brittany, Jonathan, Isabelle, and the children of Lombard, whom she embraced with open arms.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Gregory.

Judy was a mother to many, and gave great advice.  No matter what the situation was, you always left her company in a better mood.  She will be so very missed.

American FlagMarack, FrankFRANK A. MARACK, SR., age 79 of Ottawa, formerly of Elmhurst and Lombard, died March 16 at OSF St. Elizabeth Hospital, Ottawa, Illinois.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 19 from 4 to 9 pm at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 20 with prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard, for 10 AM Mass.

Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton, Illinois.

Mr. Marack is survived by four children, Julie Pusateri of Arizona, Colleen (Robert) McMachon of Oregon, Frank A. (Jennie) Jr. of Aurora, and William (Debbie) of Arizona; six grandchildren, Anthony (Tritia) of Arizona, Holly of Arizona, Robert, Shannon, Thomas, and Clara; and his dear friend, Linda J. Kendall of Ottawa and her daughter, Heidi.

Mr. Marack is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Hoffmann of Lombard.

Mr. Marack grew up in Lombard, moving to Elmhurst in 1967 and to Ottowa in 2003.  He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Grade School and Glenbard West High School.  Mr. Marack was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.  He was a former Supervisor of Assessments for DuPage County and currently was a Tax Consultant for Marack and Associates.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Friday, March 20th at 10:30 A. M. until the time of service at 11:00 A. M. at First United Methodist Church, 155 South Main Street, Lombard.

Mr. Gronemeyer is survived by his beloved wife, Rita nee Gillespie; his dear sister Patricia (J. Craig) Carrell of Henderson, NV, his loving brother, Richard (Sharon) of Naperville, his nieces and nephews and his great nieces and nephews.

He retired from Argonne National Laboratory after 36 years.
