THOMAS P. PISZYK, age 65, of Villa Park,

Wednesday, May 27th, 2015

PiszykTHOMAS P. PISZYK, age 65, of Villa Park, died May 25 at his home.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 28 from 3 to 9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 29 with prayers at 10:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home to St. Michael Church, Wheaton, for an 11:30 AM Mass.
Interment Private.

Tom is survived by his wife, Catherine A., nee Fritz; four children, Beth (Gabe) Gomez, Kristin Phillips, Erika (Joseph) Martinez, and Megan; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ethan, Olivia, and Emma; his mother, Eleanor, nee Pietrucha; his brother, David (Cindy); his sisters, Susan (Carl) Fitzpatrick, Anita (Donald) Huvaere, JoAnne (Carl) Metoyer, and Janet; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Tom Piszyk passed away peacefully on Monday evening surrounded by his family after a two year long battle with cancer. But that only tells one small part of his story. He worked many long hours over the past four decades as a Certified Public Accountant. “Tax season” was a time of year known to his wife and four daughters as one more to add to the four already in existence!

Tom loved to golf when the weather was nice and to bowl when it wasn’t. When he was younger, he and his wife were in various bowling leagues and he amassed many trophies and medals. He also played softball in his younger days ( and running bases with his daughters!). He was also a die- hard Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks fan and if a game was on you had better stay out of the way of the television and keep your voice down! Even in the last days before he passed, he didn’t miss any Blackhawks playoff games.

Tom loved his family more than anything else. In addition to his wife, four daughters, two son in laws, four grandchildren, and his siblings, he had many cousins, nieces and nephews whom he cared for greatly.
