Hennings, FrederickAmerican FlagFred L. Hennings, age 83, Korean War Veteran, of Lombard, IL, formerly of Oak Park, IL, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard, IL. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 6, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Brust Funeral Home.
He was the beloved husband of Suzanne nee Whitcomb. Loving father of Denise (Victor) of San Diego, CA, David (Allison) of Oak Park, IL and Dean (Stacy) of Warrenville, IL. Dear grandfather of Matthew, Andrew, Bailey, Amanda, Joshua and Owen.
Fred was born on December 27, 1931 in Chicago, IL to the loving late parents , Frederick W. and Beatrice Sobotka. He graduated from UCLA with a degree in Finance and Business. Fred was on the Oak Park YMCA board for many years, a member of Kiwanis International, Oak Park Pony League, and the vestry of Grace Episcopal Church, Oak Park, IL.

SHERRY LEE MORRIS, nee Bower

IMG_0321.JPGSherry Lee Morris, nee Bower, was born in Canton, Illinois September 4, 1928, the daughter of Roy and Clairone “Connie” Bower. At the age of 87, she passed away at home on October 27, 2015, with her family by her side.

She was united in marriage to Paul Edward Morris in 1950. They were married for 60 blessed years. Sherry was the quintessential wife, mother, and friend. Her life was devoted to her husband, her 7 children, her 16 grandchildren, her 2 great grandchildren and her many friends. Possessing an unwavering faith in God, she was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Lombard, Illinois for 55 years.

Sherry attended Canton High School for 3 years and moved to Quincy, Illinois to finish her senior year at Quincy Senior High. She attended Quincy College where she studied English and French. Early in her professional career, Sherry worked with special education children at Lincoln Elementary School in Lombard, Illinois. Later, she worked as the guidance office secretary for Westlake Middle School in Lombard for over 25 years. Sherry was loved by her colleagues and the students for her professionalism, her nurturing ways, and her sense of humor.

Sherry is survived by children and spouses; Michael (Jo) Morris of Burr Ridge, IL, Thomas Morris of Lombard, IL, John Morris of Lombard, IL, Martha (David) Schillerstrom of Naperville, IL, James (Sheila) Morris of Batavia, IL, Susan (John) Krebs of Lombard, IL, and Paul (Linda) Morris of Elmhurst, IL,; her grandchildren, Michael (Laura) Morris II, Erin Morris, Kevin (Dana) Schillerstrom, Erik Schillerstrom, Corinne Schillerstrom, Lily Morris, Jack Morris, Claire Morris, Carly Morris, Sherry Krebs, Kelly (Luke Morse) Krebs Morse, Stacy Krebs, Judy Morris, K.C. Morris, Emily Morris and Trey Morris; and her great grandchildren, Michael Morris III and Megan Morris.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her half-sister Olive White.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 29 from 3 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 30 with prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard, for 10 AM Mass.
Interment will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Wheaton, Illinois.

Jean Hillmann IIJEAN W. HILLMANN, age 86, of Lombard, died October 19 at Beacon Hill, Lombard, Illinois.

Memorial Gathering and Service will be held Saturday, November 7 with visitation from 10 AM to the time of Service at 11 AM at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 215 South Lincoln, Lombard.
Private Interment at Bronswood Cemetery, Oak Brook, Illinois.

Mrs. Hillmann is survived by her son, James Karl (Brenda) Hillmann of Campton Hills, Illinois; her daughter, Lisa (‘Mac’) McNicholas of Lombard; four grandchildren, Mary Rose (David) Weber of Elmhurst, Kyleen McNicholas of Chicago, John McNicholas of Lombard, and Mackenzie Hillmann of Campton Hills; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hillmann is preceded in death by her husband, Karl W.; and her sister, Virginia Clineff.

Mrs. Hillmann was a resident of Lombard 61 years. She was a graduate of Hinsdale High School in 1947 and had attended Northwestern University. Mrs. Hillmann had been a legal secretary for Conklin and Adler in Chicago. She was an avid Bridge player and reader. She was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church and was in the choir at church. Mrs. Hillmann enjoyed bowling and doing cross-stitch.

Sharon D. Paetow-Blakeslee, nee Paetow, age 61 of Lombard died October 17 at home. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 20, 3-9 pm at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard. Funeral will be Wednesday at 10:30 am at Brust Funeral Home. Entombment at Maryhill Cemetery.

Mrs. Paetow-Blakeslee is survived by her husband Ken; her siblings: Patrick (Diane) Paetow and Jerry Paetow; her nieces and nephews: Kelly (Chris) Stark and Lindsay (Bobby) Bradshaw; her great niece Alison and great nephew Logan.

Mrs. Paetow-Blakeslee loved to play Bingo.

Paulette Ethridge (nee Fallon), age 66, of River Grove, formerly of Elmwood Park, passed away surrounded by her family on October 11th at Elmhurst Hospital.
Ms. Ethridge is survived by her two children Kimberly Ethridge of Villa Park and Steven (Jill)  Ethridge of Elmwood Park and four grandchildren Fallon Frandsen of Summit, Ryan Frandsen of Villa Park, Spencer and Olivia Ethridge of Elmwood Park, sister Rosemary Bucaro (nee Fallon) of Bloomingdale, former husband and friend Ronald Ethridge of Meridian, Mississippi, best friend of Marcia Eckardt of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
Ms. Ethridge loved to create, making jewelry, painting, sewing, embroidery and crochet were just a few of her hobbies. She always had pets and very much enjoyed the company of all feathered or furry friends. She was an accomplished, though unpublished, writer and a keen observer of the human condition. Her beautiful spirit will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Mass will be held, Friday, October 30th  at 10am, at St. Alexander Catholic Church, 300 S. Cornell Ave, Villa Park.

Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.

Mrs. Kufer is survived by her brother, Daniel L. (Elizabeth) Pommier of Florida; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kufer is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and her brothers and sisters, Rev. James Pommier, Olive K. Ross, and Des Neiges Krisch.

Mrs. Kufer was a life-long resident of Lombard. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Grade School and Aurora Madonna High School. Mrs. Kufer had a Beauty Shop in her Lombard home from the 1940’s to the 1980’s. She retired from Ultimate Hair Creations in Lombard. Mrs. Kufer was a former member of the Council of Catholic Women, a former Eucharist Minister, and a member of the Rosary group at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard. She had been a member of the Sweet Adeline singing group. Mrs. Kufer was an avid bowler and had been very active in the Pro-Life movement.

Patricia “Patty” Bryan, 50, of Geneva,

Patricia “Patty” Bryan, 50, of Geneva, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, after a brief illness.

Patty was a lifelong resident of Marklund, a nonprofit residential organization located in Chicago’s western suburbs that serves adults and children with profound developmental disabilities. Throughout her life, she developed many friendships with Marklund’s staff, volunteers and other residents, who will miss her dearly. Dozens of comments were left on Marklund’s Facebook page, many of which featured a common theme of how she was a wonderful lady and that people were so lucky to have known her.

Patty enjoyed joking with Marklund staff, playing her little piano, receiving visits from the pet therapy dogs, meeting new volunteers, and performing in the annual holiday play.
Services will be held Saturday, October 10, at Brust Funeral Home, 305 S Princeton Ave., Villa Park. Gathering will take place from 10-11a.m. followed by a memorial service starting at 11 a.m.
Additionally, friends of Marklund can join staff and residents for a campus memorial service held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, at the Marklund Hyde Center, 1S450 Wyatt Dr., Geneva. Members of Christ Community Church will lead the service in the Multi-Purpose Room.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 9th with Mrs. Seiler Lying-In-State from 9 AM until time of Service at 10 AM at St. Joh’s Ev Lutheran Church, 215 South Lincoln, Lombard.
Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.

Mrs. Seiler is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Jeff) Rueffer of Batavia; her son, Scott (Sarah) of Boston; three grandchildren, Katie Rueffer of Batavia, Michael Rueffer of Batavia, and Samantha Seiler of Boston; three sisters, Laverne Smith of Lombard, Emily Bonette of California, and Audrey (Tony) Cooper of California; her sister-in-laws, Betty Stelter of Wisconsin and Irma Stelter of Lombard; her former husband and friend, Don Seiler of Crystal Lake; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mrs. Seiler is preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Leonard; and her sister, Marlene Troyke.

Mrs. Seiler was a life-long resident of Lombard. She was a 1948 graduate of Glenbard West High School. She was an avid gardener. Mrs. Seiler was a life-long member of St. John’s Ev Lutheran Church in Lombard where she had been both baptized and confirmed. She was a graduate of St. John’s grade school. Mrs. Seiler was a former member of the Dorcas Guild at St. John’s Ev Lutheran Church. She had been a very active member volunteering for all the children’s events and had been a Sunday School Teacher.

Mr. Hribik is survived by his wife, LaVerne, nee Dewey; his son, Thomas (Cheri) of Belvidere, IL; his daughter, Karen Stubbe of Waterloo, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jason (Shari) Stubbe, Jessica (Mike) Roman, Brandy Hribik, Sara Hribik, and Daniel (Gina) Hribik; his great-grandson, Garrett Roman; two brothers, Frank (Shirley) and Louis (Rose); two sisters, Rita Gearing and Anne Gurski; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hribik is preceded in death by his sister Mary (the late John) Prazanica; and his brother-in-laws, Herman Gearing and Chet Gurski.

Mr. Hribik was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of Elmhurst College. Mr. Hribik had retired from Automatic Electric in Northlake. He had been a Lombard Girls Softball Coach. Mr. Hribik was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a member of the Lombard Moose and also the Jednota (Slovakia) organization.
