Sherry Lee Morris, nee Bower, was born in Canton, Illinois September 4, 1928, the daughter of Roy and Clairone “Connie” Bower. At the age of 87, she passed away at home on October 27, 2015, with her family by her side.
She was united in marriage to Paul Edward Morris in 1950. They were married for 60 blessed years. Sherry was the quintessential wife, mother, and friend. Her life was devoted to her husband, her 7 children, her 16 grandchildren, her 2 great grandchildren and her many friends. Possessing an unwavering faith in God, she was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Lombard, Illinois for 55 years.
Sherry attended Canton High School for 3 years and moved to Quincy, Illinois to finish her senior year at Quincy Senior High. She attended Quincy College where she studied English and French. Early in her professional career, Sherry worked with special education children at Lincoln Elementary School in Lombard, Illinois. Later, she worked as the guidance office secretary for Westlake Middle School in Lombard for over 25 years. Sherry was loved by her colleagues and the students for her professionalism, her nurturing ways, and her sense of humor.
Sherry is survived by children and spouses; Michael (Jo) Morris of Burr Ridge, IL, Thomas Morris of Lombard, IL, John Morris of Lombard, IL, Martha (David) Schillerstrom of Naperville, IL, James (Sheila) Morris of Batavia, IL, Susan (John) Krebs of Lombard, IL, and Paul (Linda) Morris of Elmhurst, IL,; her grandchildren, Michael (Laura) Morris II, Erin Morris, Kevin (Dana) Schillerstrom, Erik Schillerstrom, Corinne Schillerstrom, Lily Morris, Jack Morris, Claire Morris, Carly Morris, Sherry Krebs, Kelly (Luke Morse) Krebs Morse, Stacy Krebs, Judy Morris, K.C. Morris, Emily Morris and Trey Morris; and her great grandchildren, Michael Morris III and Megan Morris.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her half-sister Olive White.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 29 from 3 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 30 with prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard, for 10 AM Mass.
Interment will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Wheaton, Illinois.
