Later, Jeff attended Glenbard East High School where he played basketball and enjoyed lifting weights. It was here where Jeff and Michelle met. He graduated in 1987 and looked forward to attending Western Illinois University in Macomb. After a serious car accident, Jeff was forced to finish his education at the University of Illinois in Chicago where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in his specialty area of Criminal Justice. This degree led him to what he did best, being a Public Safety Officer. Jeff worked 19 years at Northwest Community Hospital and continued there when ODS took over. Jeff was thrilled when Edward Hospital contacted him for a Public Safety Officer position in Naperville near his home. Jeff was a quick learner and also a dedicated, hard-working employee. He was truthful and knowledgeable, but enjoyed having fun with others.
Jeff loved watching football with his boys. He was an avid Broncos’ fan and spent many nights cheering on the Chicago Bulls, too. Jeff enjoyed basketball so much, he helped coach Jeremy’s basketball team for two years at Bethany Lutheran School. Over the summer, he would go to the courts and play basketball and tennis with the boys.
Although he will be missed, we do not say “good-bye” but rather “good night” for we will all be reunited with him and all the saints again…
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going” (John 14:1-4).
In Lieu of flowers, memorials for his sons c/o his wife would be appreciated.
