Anthony Krauss was a devoted husband for 64 years. Had 4 children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He lived and grew up in Chicago. He was a Veteran of WW 2 in the US Army in the Pacific theater. He fought in the New Guinea and Papuan campaigns. He loved all the Chicago teams; The Cubs, Blackhawks and Bears. Cubs baseball was his favorite. Anthony belonged to St. Priscilla Parish. He was a very kind and helpful neighbor; cutting their grass or shoveling their snow. He worked at Eureka X-Ray Tube for many years. Funeral Services were held Saturday April 30, 2016 at Brust Funeral Home 135 S. Main St., Lombard, Illlnois. SIMONNE BIESEMANS, age 85, of Antwerp, Belgium died April 15, 2016 in Belgium.
Mrs. Biesemans is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline (Chuck) Wingard of Lombard; two grandchildren, Peter Wingard of Chicago and Brittany Wingard of Austin, Texas; and many cousins in Belgium.
Mrs. Biesemans was born January 26, 1931 in Antwerp, Belgium. She lived under German occupation of Belgium from 1940 to 1944. For her entire life, Mrs. Biesemans was very close to her classmates from 1949 and they got together often.
Mrs. Biesemans worked as a Secretary for 30 years for Sun Oil (Sunoco) Company and retired in 1986. After retiring, she returned to school to become an Antwerp Tour Guide. She loved history, particularly Belgium history. Mrs. Biesemans was excited and proud to be a tour guide in 1994, the 50 year anniversary of the liberation of Antwerp by the Canadians, and to be able to take those who returned around the city.
Mrs. Biesemans enjoyed knitting, organizing and loved to travel. She was very close to her daughter and her grandchildren.
Memorial Gathering and Service will be held Friday, April 29th from 3:00 PM to the Service time of 7:00 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

JO DEAN STRAUSS, nee Fifarek, age 69, of Lombard, died April 25 at Glen Oak Hospital, Glendale Heights, Illinois.

Mrs. Strauss is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Richard; her children, Scott (Karleen) of Lombard, and Bonnie (Marshall) Fabor of Melrose Park; her grandchildren, Angie Strauss and Jake Strauss of Lombard; and her brothers, Gerald of Joliet, and Wally (Margaret) of Wisconsin.
Mrs. Strauss is preceded in death by her brothers, Jack and Richard.
Mrs. Strauss was a resident of Lombard 48 years. She had been a homemaker and had also worked at Mr. Z’s Supermarket. Mrs. Strauss loved Wheel of Fortune, Sewing, and Guitar.

Michael is survived by his loving parents, Michael J. and Nicole nee Illian, of Lombard; a sister, Melanie of Green Bay, Wisconsin; 2 brothers, Matthew of Lombard and Mitchell of Lombard; his grandmother, Bessie C. Bellock of Lombard; 16 aunts and uncles; many cousins and other relatives; and many friends.
Michael graduated from Park View Elementary School and Glen Westlake Middle School and Glenbard East High School in 2013. He was a member of the football and track teams at Glenbard East. Michael was a junior at Eastern Illinois University where he was majoring in International Relations. He also was active in the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, having served as an officer. Michael had played football for the Lombard Falcons for 9 years. He loved to fish with his cousins and family.

Vernette “Nettie” Ireland, 85, beloved wife of the late Harry. Loving mother of Cliff (Liz), Jim (Tammy), and John. Sister of the late Harold (Lois) Homeyer, the late Florence (Herb) Heine, and Lorraine (Ron) Krog. Grandmother of Michael, Katherine and Elizabeth; Savannah and Ashley.
Nettie was born in Roselle, Illinois on November 28, 1930 to Elsie and Emil Homeyer. After high school she attended nursing school at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Nettie married Harry Franklin Ireland on June 25, 1955 and they raised three sons in Lombard, Illinois. When the boys were older she returned to work as a visiting nurse.
After Harry’s unexpected death in 1979 Nettie eventually moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. While there she continued to work as a visiting nurse and pursued her interests in bird watching and hiking. She returned to Illinois in her later years but continued to travel. Two of her most memorable trips were to Alaska and Japan.
Funeral service will be held Friday, April 22nd with Mrs. Ireland Lying-in-State from 9:30 AM to time of service at 10:30 AM at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 547 North Main Street, Lombard.
Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Elgin, Illinois.

Marian June McCann, nee Ferracane, age 83, of Lombard, formerly of Chicago died April 16 at Lexington Healthcare, Lombard, Illinois.

Mrs. McCann was a resident of Lombard 5 years and was formerly of Chicago. She was a graduate of Providence Catholic High School. Mrs. McCann had worked as a Secretary for St. Fidelis Catholic School in Chicago. She had been a Volunteer at Misericordia. Mrs. McCann had been married 65 years.

Mary Jean Koulback nee Walston, of Aurora, formerly of Lombard, was born on November 19, 1931 and passed away on April 15, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore George Koulback. She is survived by her children: Mary Beth (John) Provis, Robert (Candace), Steven (Denice), James (Sharon); nine grandchildren & four great grandchildren.
Mary Jean was the only child of Harold E. and Lorraine Walston. She attended St. Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana and graduated with a Music Degree. For many years Mary Jean taught piano and organ to both children and adults. She also played the organ at St. Pius X Church and Sacred Heart Church and loved working with the children’s choir.

Michael A. Daichendt, age 90, of Lombard, passed away peacefully at his home on April 16, 2016.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 19 from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard.

Michael was born in Chicago, IL. to John and Margaret Daichendt on March 12, 1926.
A veteran of WWII, he served his country as a Private 1st Class, Company F, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Division (“Big Red One”) for the USA Army, where he received the Army of Occupation and World War II Victory Medals.
Michael enjoyed his work of 40+ years as a sanitation engineer. He also enjoyed reading, working outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Virginia nee Oehlerking; son, Alan; daughters, Kathy Ochromowicz, Lynette (Larry) Heiden, Kimberly (Tim) Parson; sisters, Margaret Sauer and Janet Spohr; six grandchildren, Lindsey, Larry, Michael, Melissa, Zach and Haley and one great grandchild, Elijah.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret; his sister, Sophie Helen and brother, John.

Janet Laskey Galvan, 70, of Lombard, passed away April 14, 2016 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, Elmhurst, Illinois after losing her battle with pancreatic cancer.

Janet was born in Cicero, IL to William and Eleanor Laskey on April 24, 1945. She attended Proviso West High School and graduated in 1963. She then went on to Northern Illinois University. Janet had many different employers, starting out with waitressing, developing photos at Kmart, working at Jewel Foods and most recently managing the floral department at Hobby Lobby where she was surrounded by her passion – flowers. She enjoyed arts & crafts, jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku, photography, cooking, traveling, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents, William and Eleanor; her sister Elizabeth L. Zendt; and niece Krissy Gallien.
Janet is survived by her daughter Caryn (Amy Dideriksen) Holmes (children Matthew and Steven); sister Linda (John) Babcock; niece Patricia (Michael) McGraw (children Matthew and Kelsey); nephew Michael (April) Babcock (children Garrett, Abigail and Blair); nephew Gregory (Ana) Babcock (children Ava and Jackson); nephew Matthew (Patti) Zendt; niece Karyn (Keith) Costa; and great nephew Casey Gallien and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Janet is also survived by her best friend of 42 years, Rosemary (John) Bliss and her beloved feline, Zoe.

Kevin is preceded in death by his brother, Greg.
Kevin was born on December 29, 1958, in Decatur, IL. He attended St. John Ev. Lutheran Grade School, Glenbard East High School and graduated from Southern Illinois University. Kevin loved connecting with people. He had a deep faith and trust in the Lord.
