Leo is survived by his parents, Robert T. and Bernita L. nee Fox; his three brothers, Robert D., Timothy E., and Thomas A. (Lisa D.); 5 nieces and nephews; and his life-partner, Tammy McAuley.

Kevin T. McNicholas, age 66, of Elmhurst

Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 – 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Funeral Services will be Thursday starting at Old St. Patrick’s Church, 700 W. Adams St, Chicago, for Mass at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Peggy nee Husch; his two children, Kevin C. (Laura) of Jerseyville, IL and Mary-Margaret “Molly” McNicholas of Elmhurst; his grandchildren, Elliana “Ellie” of Jerseyville, Jeremiah of Jerseyville, and Micah of Jerseyville; his two brothers, Dennis J. (Karin) McNicholas of Lombard, and Kieran “Mac” (Lisa) McNicholas of Lombard; one sister, Maureen Ray of Glen Ellyn; his brother-in-laws, Gerry (Susan Grey) Husch of Idaho, Robert (Kris) Husch of Oakbrook, Patrick Husch of Wilmington, IL, and Paul (Colleen ) Husch of Wilmington; and one sister-in-law, Molly (Tim) McNeil of Elmhurst; 16 nieces and nephews.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, Ann Marie, nee Cahill, and John Patrick McNicholas, and his brother, Brian McNicholas.

Kevin grew up in Oak Park. He was a resident of Lombard for 12 years and Elmhurst for the past 26 years. Kevin was a 1968 graduate of Quigley North High School, a graduate of Niles College of Loyola University and attended University of St. Mary’s of the Lake. Kevin worked at Wells Lamont Company in Niles for 26 years as a Salesman.  He was active in Old St. Patrick’s Church and served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. Kevin was the Chief Administrative Officer for the  Chicago Youth Programs for five years until his retirement in 2016. He was also a volunteer for the Make A Wish Foundation. Kevin was a loving family man and a good man to his friends and all those who knew him.

ANN S. CZAJKA, nee Czerwien, age 98

Czajka, nee Czerwien, age 98.  Beloved wife of the late Andrew.  Loving mother of Robert (Joan), Patricia (Eugene), Joseph and The Late Casey.  Cherished Grandmother of Tim, Gene Jr. Mikhael, Jill, Dawn, Todd, Casey Ray, Hillary, David, Dean and Gregory.  Great grandmother of twenty.   Loving sister of Betty and the late Henry, Stanley, Tony, Florence and Frank.

She will always be remembered by her grandchildren as the Candy Grandma.  She was an independent, loving spirit who knew how to travel anywhere by CTA.  All her grandchildren traveled to many places and throughout the city to the many museums, beaches, fairs and of course to Marshal Fields for cheesy chowder soup.   It was always an adventure when grandma would call and say “Are you ready to go somewhere?”

She loved sports and was an avid Cub fan.  She had unlimited energy and loved to always be doing or going.  She rode her bicycle well into her 80’s and also loved to walk, and talk to the many new people she would meet  along the way on her new adventure.

Visitation will be held at Brust Funeral Home, 135 So. Main Street, Lombard, IL 60142, on Friday, September 23rd from 4p.m. to9p.m. and the following day at 9:30a.m.   Funeral services are on September 24th at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard, 114 S. Elizabeth Street.  There will be a 10 o’clock mass.  Internment at Resurrection Cemetery will follow.

ROBERT THOMAS GUDGEON, age 82, of Delevan, Wisconsin

gudgeon-robertamerican-flagRobert Thomas Gudgeon, 82, of Delevan, Wisconsin, passed away on September 14, 2016.

He was born on Jan. 1, 1934, in Hammond, IN to William and Mary Gudgeon.  He married Carole Smith on Sept. 8th, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois.  She passed away on May 12th, 2000.

Robert (Bob) is survived by two children, Anne (Michael) Hughes of Lombard, IL and Thomas (Patricia) Gudgeon of Fort Worth, TX; and special niece, Linda (Bryan) Mayda.  He had nine grandchildren; Nick (Erin Godby) Souvign, Erinne (Mel) Wittman, Carrie (Andrew) Hudziak, Shannon (Adam Barrs) Gudgeon, Lee (Ashley) Gudgeon, Melissa (Bill) Hartman, Greg (Colleen) States, Jessica Mayda, and Conner W. Gudgeon (deceased).  He also had eleven great grandchildren; Katelyn, Ella, and Aiden Wood, Brock and Addison Wittman, Aubrey and Ava Ayres, Dylan and Cassidy Hartman, Natalie States, and Conner Gudgeon.  Robert is also survived by one brother Bill Gudgeon, and one sister Peggy Finlayson and one sister-in-law, Evelyn “Tootie” Gudgeon.

Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Gudgeon.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 22 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.  Per a final request from Bob, the visitation will be business casual.  “Do not need to wear a tie and jacket just to say good-bye”.

Funeral will be Friday, September 23 with prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home then to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard, for 10:00 AM Mass.   It is requested that it be funeral attire for prayers and Mass.

Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hillside, IL, following the Mass.

Lorraine T. Oynes (1926 – 2016)

oynes-lorraineLorraine T. Oynes, nee Grzesiakowski, age 89, of Lombard, IL, passed away in the loving company of her family the day before what was to be her 90th birthday.  Lorraine’s focus was her family and for the last several years fought a courageous battle with dementia.

Lorraine was a long time parishioner of Sacred Heart Church where she was actively involved in the Women’s Club, singing in the choir, and was part of the cast in the play ‘Sound of Music’.  Lorraine had a big heart, and always had a kind word for everyone she met.  She retired from Johnson Controls as a Warehouse Manager.

Lorraine enjoyed her years of travel to many countries, including Europe, the Far East and the Holy Land, as well as many areas throughout the United States.She was the 15th child of Andrzej Grzesiakowski and Marianna Dziedzic-Grzesiakowski.

She was married to Einar Oynes for 70 years. She is survived by her husband,  her sister, Evelyn Ulfig, two daughters, Barbara (Pat) Carlson , Carol (the late Robert) Bonn and son, Jerry Oynes and two grandchildren, Chris and Tim Carlson, in addition to many nieces and nephews, who all miss her dearly.

Visitation will be at Brust Funeral Home, Saturday, Sept 17,  9:30am – 11:30am with a Funeral Mass following at Sacred Heart Church, Lombard at 12:00 Noon. Interment private.

William E. Streetz, age 97, of Lombard

Visitation will be held Friday, September 16, from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM, with military honors at 4:30 PM, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Interment private.

Mr. Streetz is survived by three children, William H. (Rose M.) of Wheaton; Carol Suchowski (Bill – deceased) of Addison and Kevin (Cheryl) of Poplar Grove; a daughter-in-law, Mae; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and an uncle and great uncle of many. Mr. Streetz is preceded in death by his son, Kenneth and a brother, Roger.

Mr. Streetz served in World War II.  Mr. Streetz worked at Chicago and Northwestern Railway Yard as an electrician for many years.  Hobbies include chemistry and photography.  Mr. Streetz was a resident of Lombard for many years.

Barbara B. Richards 1933 – 2016

richards-barbaraBarbara passed away on September 3, 2016 at Elmhurst Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Chicago, the daughter of Paul and Margaret Chapin. She was a graduate of Carl Schurz High School.  Barb spent 30 years working for the U.S. Postal Service which was a job she loved.  She is survived by her 3 daughters Patricia Mercurio and her husband Robert (deceased), Pamela (Robert) Zalinger, and Penny Dixon. She has 5 grandchildren Christopher (Jennifer) Bowen, Margaret & Jack Mercurio, Mary & Robin Zalinger. Barb was preceded in death by her son Jerry Booth and son-in-law Robert Mercurio. Barb loved her family and spent many years going on summer vacations spending time with them.

Barb was also a member of her local chapter of the DAR Daughters of the American Revolution with family ties that date back to patriots in the American Revolution.  She was a lifelong Chicago White Sox fan.
