VIRGINIA RAE MICHAEL, age 93, of Lombard

Michael-Virginia (2)Virginia Rae Michael, age 93, of Lombard passed away peacefully surrounded by family July 3, 2017.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 15th at 10:30am at the First Church of Lombard, 220 S. Main St., Lombard, IL, in the chapel.

Virginia is survived by her dearly loved children Linda Reid, Ross (Susie) and Thomas Michael.  Her grandchildren, William (Heide) Reid, Heather (Choukri) Mesli, Joseph (Aimee), Benjamin (Kristen), Jeffery and Daniel Michael and her 8 adored great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband George.

Virginia was a lifelong member of the First Church of Lombard and worked for 25 years at the Jewel in Lombard.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed bowling, square dancing and arts and crafts.

She will be missed dearly by family and friends and all who were blessed enough to know her.

 

 

Albert J. Didier, age 88, of Elmhurst

Didier, AlbertAlbert J. Didier, age 88, of Elmhurst,  passed away July 5, 2017.

Visitation will be Monday, July 10th from 3 – 9 PM with a 7 PM Masonic Service at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard under the auspices of Lombard Lodge 1098 A.F. & A.M.  Interment Private.

 

Al is survived by his loving children, Donald (Mary) of California, Bruce (Renee) of Lombard, Raymond (Donna) of Villa Park, and David of Elmhurst;  fond father-in-law of JoAnn;  dear grandfather of 11; great-grandfather of 6.

Al is preceded in death by his wife, Lois nee Thear and his son, Robert.

Al grew up in Ottawa, IL. He was a United States Air Force Vet from 1947-1950. Al was stationed in Alaska.  He married Lois in 1951 and they resided in Elmhurst, IL. Al was a Master Mason of the Lombard Masonic Lodge No. 1098 AF&AM for 57 years. He was a past Grand Master of the Lodge. Al was a retired machinist for Ingersoll Rand. He was a former pilot and loved to fly remote control planes. Al was very good with his hands and enjoyed wood carving and wood working.
