Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 5th from 4 – 9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St, Lombard. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 6th with prayers at 10 AM from Brust Funeral Home to St. Pius X Church for 10:30 AM Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Mrs. DeLegge is survived by her loving children, Thomas (Lynda), Samuel and Daniel (Kristi); 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. DeLegge is preceded in death by her husband, Sam.

James P. Boyle, age 81, of Lombard

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 3rd, from 3 PM – 8PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Funeral Services will be held Monday, with prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home to St. Pius X Church for 10 AM Mass.

Mr. Boyle is survived by his beloved wife, Margarete M. nee Kindl; his brother-in-laws, Ubert Kindl of Germany and Georg Kindl of Germany; and six nieces and nephews in Europe.

Mr. Boyle is preceded in death by his brother, John.

Mr. Boyle was born in Scotland. He was a Veteran of the British Army. Mr. Boyle  and his wife, Margarete, were married 57 years. He was a resident of Lombard for 47 years. Mr. Boyle was a retired Computer Programmer who worked for Honeywell, as well as other companies. He belonged to the Fichte Rams Soccer Club and was an avid player of the game. Mr. Boyle enjoyed classical music, especially composers Bach and Wagner.

JAMES M. ‘SULLY’ SULLIVAN, age 57, life-long resident of Lombard

Sullivan, JimmyJames M. “Sully” Sullivan, age 57, life-long of Lombard, died August 24 at his home.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sandra, nee Jenzen; two daughters, Shannon (Josh Hedman) Sullivan and Kelly (Doug Rouse, Fiancé) Sullivan; two grandchildren, Penny and Dexter Hedman; his sister, Kathy (Tom) Carney; sister-in-law, Barbara DiRienzio; brother-in-law, David (Julie) Jenzen; his mother-in-law, Marguerita Jenzen; his nieces and nephews, Tony DiRienzo, Nick (Mara) DiRienzo, Christine (Erik) Petersen, Kristi (Brian) Terpstra, Jamie (fiancé Doug Strouck) Hall, Haley Carney, and Michael, Steven, and Kaylee Jenzen; his great-nieces, Audrina, Aria, and Alexa Terpstra; many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many, many dear friends.

Jim was a life-long resident of Lombard.  He had attended Pleasant Lane Grade School, Lombard Jr. High, and was a 1978 graduate of Glenbard East High School.

Jim was an Electrician and a very proud member of I.B.E.W. Local #134.  He had been a Boy Scout.  He enjoyed fishing, was part of a home Texas Hold ‘Em Card group, and was also a cherished member of the ‘Breakfast Club’.  An intelligent and engaging conversationalist, Jim also loved to tease and brought humor to even the most challenging times of his life journey.

Jim had celebrated 36 years of marriage to his high-school sweetheart, Sandy.  Together they enjoyed their family and friends, dogs, and most especially their two grandchildren.

“Sully’s” keen wit, infectious laughter, and easy going nature will be missed by many.

Memorial Gathering and Interment will be held Saturday, September 9 from 10 AM to 12 Noon at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.

Marietta Tornabene Hirsch nee Tornabene, age 70, suddenly, of Lombard

Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard, with Rabbi Deborah Hirsch, cousin of Marietta, officiating. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 2 PM on Saturday and following the service until 4 PM.

Marietta is survived by her beloved husband, Lee; her loving children, Juliemarie (Dan) Stephens of Lombard and Michael (Katherine) Hirsch of Villa Park; her dear grandchildren, Maxwell, Alexander, Alyssa and Walter; her fond siblings, Elizabeth (Rick) David of Chicago, Margaret (Bill) Hanlon of PA, Felica (Joe) Peters of TX, and Phillip (Debbie) Tornabene of Franklin Park; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marietta is preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Tornabene.

Marietta had been a resident of Lombard since 1979. She was a former Sacred Heart Home and School Associate as well as a former president. Marietta was a former Girl Scout Leader. She loved to crochet for her family. Marietta’s grandchildren meant the world to her.

Devoted grandmother of Tiffany (Paul), James and Tim. Great-grandmother of Kaisa, Landon, and Paul. Dear aunt of Lydia (Jerry) Orzech and Stan Kurkowski. Great-aunt of Jeff, Kevin, Alexander, Derrick, Monica, Todd, and Tanya. Preceded by sisters, Mary (Edward) Anderson, Bernice (John) Kubish, Olag Korzen, and Genevieve (Stanley) Kurkowski; her brother Tadeisz Korzen, and her nephew, Norman Kubish.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 1, from 3-9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Alice was born July 28, 1927.  She was a resident of Tabor Hills in Naperville and had been a resident of Lombard for 60 years.

Alice had celebrated 65 years of marriage with her late husband, Leonard.

Alice was known for keeping the family together and her culinary skills in hosting holiday celebrations.

We extend our profound gratitude to Linda Kurkowski for caring for Alice.  We also gratefully acknowledge the Orzech family for their devotion to Alice and Leonard over the years.

CATHERINE PAGONIS, nee Pavlou, age 98, of Lombard

Pagonis, CatherineCatherine Pagonis, née Pavlou, age 98 of Lombard passed away peacefully on August 24 in Roseville, CA.

Catherine is survived by her loving son James (Maureen) of Roseville, CA, daughter-in-law Linda, of Lombard; 5 grandchildren Jennifer Pagonis, Melissa (Rick) Alejandro, Michael Pagonis, Cynthia Pagonis and Andrew (Josalyn) Pagonis; 11 great-grandchildren Jacob, Jenna, Nicholas and Marissa Martin, Anthony, Mariah and Eva Alejandro, Madylyne, Colton and Carlee Pagonis, and James Welter.

She is also survived by her brother, Emile Pavlou of San Francisco, CA, sister, Tessie Reapsong of Genoa and numerous nieces and nephews.

Catherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Andrew, her dear son John and her siblings James, Louie and Nick Pavlou and Georgia Newburn.

Catherine was a resident of Lombard since 1957, but spent the last 5 years of her life in Roseville, CA.  She worked until she was 80 years old at Western Electric, Sunbeam and West Suburban Bank.

Catherine enjoyed baking Greek treats, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and being with family and friends.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Elmhurst.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and the funeral service at 11:00 AM.  Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove Illinois.

Daniel A (Skip) Nixon III of Woodstock, Illinois

Nixon, DanielDaniel A (Skip) Nixon III passed away Aug. 23, 2017 at Journey Hospice in Woodstock, IL, after a short illness.  He was born on Jan. 10, 1956 the son of Mary Louise Nixon, of Elmhurst and (deceased) Daniel of Naples, Fl. He is survived by his partner, Jan Wilen of Woodstock and his daughter, Callie Ann of Bloomington and son Zachery Cain of the U.S. Army, (mother Kathleen Nixon).  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judith A Blaschke, and son Christopher Cody Nixon.  He is survived by his Brother, David A. Nixon (Pat Swarn) of FL, and sister, Elizabeth A. “Betty” Nixon-Clark, (Randall) of CA.  Preceded in death by his brother Dennis A. Nixon (Julie) of N.J.

He is survived by his aunts, Clara May Halsall (Bob Phillips) of West Chicago and Margaret A. (Peggy) Smykowski (Bob) of Lombard, Judy Kamaryt (Jim) of FL, and his uncle, Bill (UB) Anderson of Lombard, his nieces Anne Marie (Patrick) of N.J. and Pamela Jean (Chuck) of N.J and nephew Craig Anthony (Mairin) of N.J., his great niece Penelope, and great nephew Dennis, and his many special cousins: Gordon Halsall, Keith Halsall (Mearl), Jeff Smykowski (Paige), Rob Smykowski (Michelle), Jennifer Haston (Michael), Adam Anderson (Kate), and J.D. Kamaryt. He was preceded in death by Scott Michael Smykowski.

Skip attended Lincoln grade school and Glenbard East High School in Lombard.

Skip had a passion for motorcycles, fix them, build them or ride them! He had taken many trips on his bike, the best being when he and Jan rode to Alaska.  He was a great son, dad, brother and friend, always willing to lend a hand.  He had been a Cub Scout leader, football coach and St. Matthew chaperone for school outings, he even made a great Santa Claus! He was very involved with Driscoll High School football.  He worked for the City of Elmhurst as a mechanic.

He will be in all of our hearts forever!

Skip’s Memorial will be at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, Wed. Aug. 30, 5PM to 9PM, interment is private.  Please omit flowers.  Donations may be made to the Christopher Cody Scholarship fund at St. Matthews School, 1555 Glen Ellyn Road, Glendale Heights, IL 60139.

There will be a Celebration of Skip’s life on September 6th, starting at 5 PM at Niko’s Red Mill Inn, 1040 Lake Av., Woodstock, Ill. 60098.

GIUSEPPINA MASSA, nee Tutalo, age 91, of Villa Park

Massa, GiuseppinaMassa, Giuseppina2Giuseppina Massa, nee Tutalo, age 91, of Villa Park, died August 23 at Elmbrook Nursing, Elmhurst, Illinois.

Visitation and Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 26 with Visitation from 8:30 AM to time of Prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, for 10 AM Mass.

Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.

Mrs. Massa is survived by her two sons, Tony (Mary Della) and Tomasso (Leticia); her two daughters, Gabriella (Donald) Zeunert,, and Anna Maria (Stanley) Dolecki; her eight grandchildren, Nicole (Ed) Hillyer, Michael (Melissa), Michael (Lynn) Zeunert, Matthew (Melisa) Zeunert, Joseph Zeunert, Christopher Zeunert, Ryan Michael and Alexander Dolecki; and six great-grandchildren, Jacob Hillyer, Matthew Anthony Massa, Aubrey Zeunert, Marcus Massa, Lia Zeunert and the newest addition expected in October.

Mrs. Massa is preceded in death by her husband, Michele.

Giuseppina was born in a small town in Italy where she worked on a farm harvesting wheat and raising 3 of her children.  In the early 60’s she came to America with her children and once here she had one more child.  Giuseppina devoted her life to raising her children and her grandchildren.  You could always find her in the kitchen making Italian meals from scratch.  On Sunday, you could always count on her Pasta and Meatball dinners.  Giuseppina was the heart of her family and will be deeply missed.

Francis Patrick Clarke, age 68, of Lombard

ClarkeFrancis Patrick Clarke, age 68, of Lombard, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Cathie, daughters Colleen of Wheaton, IL, Kelly of Colorado Springs, CO and brother Tom of Des Plaines, IL.

Frank was preceded in death by his mother Donna, father Francis and sister Christine Schmitt.

Frank Clarke had been a resident of Lombard for 41 years. He was an avid White Sox fan and loved baseball and basketball. He enjoyed walking, cycling and being outdoors. Animals gravitated to his kind and gentle spirit. He found great companionship in his daughters’ dogs, Marley and Crispin.

Frank was born and raised in Chicago, IL. He attended Lane Tech College Prep, North Park College, Wright College and Northeastern Illinois University all in Chicago. He loved History, Social Studies and reading but ultimately his sharp navigation skills lead him to a lifelong career in beverage distribution.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 25 from 10am to 1pm at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St, Lombard, Illinois. Following services there will be a celebration of life at Emmett’s Brewing Company, 121 W Front St, Wheaton, IL 60187 from 2 to 5pm, as a nod to Frank’s strong Irish heritage.

Mr. Hogan is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth R. nee Hayward; his loving children, James W. (Kathleen), Alan R. (Barbara), Matthew L. (Diane), Melissa L. (Gery) Fawkes and John R. (Jacquelyne); his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Thomas (Ashley), Scott, Jason, Kelly, William (Jacquelynn), Emily, JR, Jessica, and Matthew; his great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Myles, and Eli; his dear brothers, Richard (Jeanne), and Edward; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mr. Hogan is preceded in death by siblings, Marie, Virginia, and William.

Mr. Hogan was a resident of Lombard since 1958.  He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
