Gloria J. Hartmanowski, age 75, of Schaumburg, died May 25, 2018.  She was the beloved mother of George and Christine; dear grandmother of Daniel, Jessica, Emily, Andrew and Hunter; loving sister of Maryann (the late James) Czerlanis and Raymond (Patricia) Polcyn.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Thursday, May 31, from 10-11 AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.  Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Cemetery, 8851 W. Higgins Road Chicago.

Jessie Lyon Spence, age 91

spenceJessie Lyon Spence went to be with her Lord on February 10, 2018. She was born March 1st, 1926 to Hetty Barclay and John Comegys Lyon. She grew up in both Charlottesville, VA and Bedford , PA.

She met Bill Spence at the USO, while he was serving in the US Navy. They enjoyed dancing together, and eventually married in 1946. They were married for 63 years, and had three daughters: Mildred (Keith ) Zukausky, Melody (Kenneth) Chapman, and Martha Glaza. Bill’s work took them from Roanoke , VA, to Syracuse, NY, Chicago, IL, Washington D.C., and NYC. They enjoyed living in all of these places, and made friends along the way.

Jessie worked as a secretary for such companies as A & P, Penco, Christian Life Magazine, and World Book, to name a few. She was an active member in Lombard Bible Church, serving as deaconness for many years. She had the gift of hospitality and opened her home and kitchen to friends, neighbors, missionaries and flock group on a regular basis. She always had fresh iced tea, and lots of candy to offer anyone who dropped in.

She had a soft heart for homeless animals, and took in several rescue dogs in her later years.

Jessie was predeceased by her beloved Bill in 2010, and Martha in 2012. Those left behind include Mildred, Melody, 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her memorial service will be held June 2 at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Visitation is from 1-2 PM , and the service will be from 2-3 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Lombard Bible Church, 111 S. Park Ave., Lombard, IL 60148, or an Animal Rescue Shelter would be appreciated.

Jan Jacobsen nee Urbanow, age 79, of Lombard

Jacobsen-JanJan Jacobsen nee Urbanow, age 79, of Lombard, died May 20 at her home.  She is survived by her loving husband, Ed; her beloved children, Jeff of Galena, Daniel (Bernadette) of West Chicago, Chris, Allison (Kevin) Looby of Warrenville, Tim (Stacie) of Normal, IL, Peter (Nicole) of West Chicago, Matt (Kathy) of Arizona, Sarah (Jon) Bryan of Lombard, Kate (Matt) Bialecki of Elmhurst; stepmother of Cheryl (Kirk) Vipond of Waconia, Minnesota and Brian of Texas; grandmother of Patrick, Bridget, Robert, Jim, Matt, Jake, Molly, Lukas, Ben, Sam, Bekka, Marae, Cody, Tommy, Braden, Audrey, Jack, Brett, Megan, Harper, Cameron, Josslin, Jessica, Georgia, Caden and Drew; dear sister of Mike (Darlene) Keglovitz of Lombard and Suzanne (Tim) Barry of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Jan was preceded in death by her son, the late Edward W. Jacobsen, Jr., her grandson, Noah, her granddaughter, Kaylin and her sister, Joanne.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Thursday, May 24, from 3-9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.  Services will be held Friday, May 25 with a gathering from 9:30 AM until the time of a Memorial Service at 10:30 AM at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln Ave., Lombard.  Interment private.

Jan had lived in Lombard since 1962.  She retired from the Glenbard East High School Bookstore after 25 years.  She retired from St. John’s Church in 2016, where she worked as an Administrative Assistant.  She had been a member of AFSCME #1970.

Jan was a former Cub Scout Den Mother and a Stephen Minister at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church would be appreciated.

Timothy F. Olichwier, age 72, of Lombard

Timothy F. Olichwier of Lombard, 72, died Saturday, May 19, 2018.

A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, May 23, 4 to 8 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Lombard.  Interment is private.

Mr. Olichwier is survived by his daughters: Kelly (Edward) Deal of Plainfield, Kristin (Antonio) Rizzo of Lombard; his sons Daniel of Villa Park and Eric of Villa Park; brother James (Mary); and sisters Christine Cira and Barbara (John) Ziemba.

Mr. Olichwier was a Vietnam War Army Veteran and an avid gardener.  He was a White Sox fan who loved his dogs Franklin and Eleanor.

Warner,CariKaren ‘Cari’ Warner, age 71, of Lombard, died May 18, 2018 at her home.  Karen is survived by her brother, Gary Saatkamp (Suzanne) of Naperville, cousins, Wayne (Marcia) Milligan, of Naperville  and Dennis (Crystal) Wind of Florida, her nephews and nieces, Steven (Loni) Saatkamp of Ohio, Laura (John) Readdy of Chadwick, IL, Janet (Juan) Solis of Aurora, Ron (Stephanie) Saatkamp of Downers Grove, Dean (Cara) Saatkamp of Plainfield, Christine (Andy Goodman) Kairies of Naperville, an aunt, Lou Niesmann, of Cicero, her dear friend, Patty Jordan, and many other relatives.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond L. and Thelma M. (nee Golladay) Saatkamp, an aunt, Marjorie (Ejolf) Wind (nee Golladay) and many Golladay and Saatkamp relatives.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, June 2, from 10:00 – 11:30 AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.  Interment private.

Karen grew up in Villa Park and had lived in Lombard for 34 years, since 1984.  She attended Addison Oak Grade School and Fullerton Grade School for 8th grade only, and graduated from Willowbrook High School in 1964.  She graduated from Upper Iowa University with a BA in Education in 1968.

Karen retired from Official Airline Guides.  She was a former member of the Christian Church of Villa Park.  She also was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and honored Queen of Job’s Daughters in 1964.  Karen was active in volleyball, dancing, bowling and skiing before her accident of January 1, 1976.  She had a large group of friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 23, from 3 – 9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St, Lombard. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, with prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Church for 10 AM Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

Leonard is survived by his  loving wife, Priscilla nee Liss; beloved son, Ronald Hasil of Naperville; his loving step-daughter, Annette (Norton) Johnson of Dixon, IL; his dear grandchildren, Dustin Johnson of Des Plaines, Stephanie Hasil of Naperville, and Megan Tor of Glendale Heights; his great-grandchildren, Cameron and Jayce; his dear sister, Doris of Florida; his nephew, Steven Hasil; niece, Debbie Hasil; and his sister-in-law, Vickie Hasil.

He was preceded in death by his step-son, the late Gregory Tor; and his brother, Jack.

Leonard lived in Lombard for 30 years and had formerly lived in LaGrange. He was a retired plumber for A. Archer Sewer & Plumbing in Lombard, where he ran the company since 1967. Leonard loved horseracing.

James Moneer, age 50, of San Diego, California

Jim MonerJames Moneer, age 50, of San Diego, California, died May 14, 2018 at his home.  James is survived by his sister, Nicole; his nephew, Grayson; many aunts and uncles; and many cousins.  He was the son of the late Dr. Yusuf Moneer, M.D., and Mary nee Kottra.

A Visitation will be held Monday, May 21, from 5-9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard.  Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 22, at 12:30 PM at the funeral home.  Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove, IL.

James had lived in San Diego for over 20 years.  He grew up in the western suburbs.  He graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1985 and from Marquette University in 1989.  He also graduated from the University of San Diego Law School.  James practiced in San Diego where he specialized in Anti-S.L.A.P.P. law.

Corbino 3Linda Sikora Corbino, age 52, of Lombard, died May 14, 2018.  Beloved wife of Robert “Bob”; loving mother of Stephanie Sampey of Hoffman Estates; grandmother of Chloe and Violet; dearest sister of Teresa Smith of South Elgin and Leonard (Bonnie) Sikora of McHenry; daughter of Stephanie Sikora of Bensenville and Vincent (Eva) Sikora of Florida; step mother of Camille and Vincent; and step-grandma to Cody; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation Friday, May, 18, from 3-9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.  Funeral Service Saturday at 10:30 AM, also at Brust Funeral Home.  Entombment Assumption Cemetery, Winfield, Illinois.

Linda had been a resident of Lombard for 28 years.  Prior to moving to Lombard, she lived in Wooddale and Bensenville.  She had formerly worked for Dr. Yong and Dr. Kandel at their Lombard Clinic as a Nurse CNA, at Range of Motion in Carol Stream working in rehab at the county home, and at Elmhurst Hospital.

Linda loved animals and music from the 1980’s.  She loved to cook—it was her passion.

Jr. (Linda) of Lombard, and the late Kathleen “Kathy” and the late James A.; grandmother of five: Tony Ariola of Lombard, Michelle Radloff of Lombard, Amy Hanlon of Lombard, Thomas J. III (Stephanie) of Lombard and James T. of Springfield; great-grandmother of 5.  She was preceded in death by 3 brothers.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 20, from 4-8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.  Funeral services will be held Monday, May 21, with 9:30 AM Prayers from the funeral home to Sacred Heart Church for 10 AM Mass.  Interment Millington-Newark Cemetery, Millington, Illinois.

Mrs. Hanlon worked in the Chicago Schools as a teacher during World War II; she then worked for Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 30 years.  She attended Sacred Heart Church in Lombard.

Mrs. Hanlon loved golf and ping pong.  She enjoying going to her grandchildren’s events.

Kazienko, age 87, of Lombard, died May 12, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospital.  She was the loving wife of the late Francis; loving mother of Catherine (Mark) Gonsowski of Arizona, Diane Slonski of Lake Zurich, Francis (Laura) of Glen Ellyn, Frederick (Joe Lemos) of Montgomery; fond grandmother of 8, Dawn (Bob) Harmon of Idaho, Brett Gonsowski of Arizona, Melissa Slonski of Chicago, Ricky (Caity) Slonski of Nashville, TN, Christopher Kazienko of Arizona, Cory Kazienko of Lombard, Casey Kazienko of California and Claire (Tom) Baldwin of Sycamore; great-grandmother of Dylan, Andrew and Tommy; dear sister of Shirley (Doug), Catherine (Jim), Clyde, Jane (Tom); her niece, Marsha Kay and many other relatives.

Mrs. Kazienko had been a resident of Lombard since 1994.  She had formerly lived in Bellwood.  She grew up in Wierton, West Virginia and attended high school there, graduating from Weir High School in 1948.

Mrs. Kazienko worked for Multi Electric Manufacturing as a bookkeeper for 58 years. She was a former member of Saint John Chrysostom in Bellwood. She was a member of the P.R.C.U. (Polish Roman Catholic Union).
