SpaloJim Spalo, age 59, of Lombard, passed away peacefully September 24, 2019, surrounded by his wife and best friend, Mary, and his children, Kimberly, Catherine and Joseph. Jim was born in Berkeley, IL and had a full and fantastic life. He was a retired Air Force veteran. Jim was a proud member of the IAMAW and a member of the VFW Lombard post.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Dorothy Spalo and is survived by his sister, Pamela Frank, and brothers Bob (Barbara) Spalo and Bill(Kathleen) Spalo.

Visitation is 4:00 – 9:00 pm Monday at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S.Main Street, Lombard, and services are Tuesday at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church,114 S. Elizabeth Street, Lombard, IL 60148. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. For more info call 888-629-0094.

Carol had been a Lombard resident since 1969. She was a former member of Calvary Episcopal Church.

Loving son of Cassandra Tanner Miller of Joliet; dearest brother of Camryn “Zaza”; loving grandson of John and Elizabeth Tanner of Lombard; many other relatives.

Colton loved monster trucks, football, dinosaurs, dragons and cars.  He loved cleaning and gardening with his mother.

Funeral Services Friday 9 AM from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard to Sacred Heart Church for 9:30 AM Mass. Visitation Thursday 3-9 PM. Interment private.

Louise G. Anderson nee Williams, age 94, of Lombard died September 19 at Elmhurst Hospital.

Mrs. Anderson was the beloved wife of Gene L. of Lombard; dearest mother of Kathy (Chuck) Synowiec of Wheaton, Karen (Ron) Swanson of Wheaton and Dale (Karen) Anderson of Aurora; Fond grandmother of Lonnie Jr. (Mandy) Smith of Lombard, Liz (Greg) Hurlbutt of Gurnee, Nathan (Ariana) Smith of Montgomery, Megan Swanson of California, Carl Swanson of Villa Park, Scott Swanson of Wheaton, Nicholas Anderson of Aurora and Eric Anderson of Aurora; great-grandmother of 7; dear sister of Nancy (Bud) Stych of Michigan, the late David (Lorraine) Williams of Virginia and the late Elvera; many other relatives.

Louise had been a Lombard resident since 1959.  She was active at First United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Women’s Circle.  She was a homemaker and a former Cub Scout volunteer.  Louise loved genealogy.  She enjoyed craft work and sewing.

A Visitation will be held Monday, September 23, from 3-9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.  Funeral Services Tuesday, September 24, with Mrs. Anderson Lying in State from 10 AM until the time of the Funeral at 11 AM at First United Methodist Church, 155 S. Main St., Lombard.  Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.

Eugene O. Heise age 93 of Lombard passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

Beloved husband of the late Dorothy. Loving father of the late Robert.  Dear grandfather of Robert Jr. of Elmhurst, Daniel of Seattle, and Matthew (Emily) of LaGrange. Proud great-grandfather of four. Uncle of many.  Survived by his daughter-in-law, Paula Heise, of Lombard.

Gene had been a resident of Lombard since 1965.  He was a World War II Army Veteran.  He was a retired accountant from United Airlines and a lifelong Cubs fan.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4-8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.  Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM from Brust Funeral Home to St. Pius X Church, 1025 E. SchraftCharlotte D. Schraft nee Hedberg, age 95, of Lombard, died September 8, 2019 at Central DuPage Hospital.

Charlotte was the beloved wife, of 51 years, of the late Robert E.  She was the dear mother of Charlene Ruedel, of Cherry Valley, IL; Robert Jr. (Janice) of Campton Hills and the late William of Lombard; adored grandmother of 10, Sharon Laske, Lauren (Bill) Fedor, James Schneider, Arron (Dawn), Blake (Gordana), Callie, Carrie, Michael, Scott (Nicole) and Jessica; great-grandmother of 15, Tyler, Kyle, Bryce, Jaymee, Jacob, Megan, Avery, Charlotte, Scottie, Wyatt, Janessa, Ava, the late Brooklynn, the late Brayden and the late Adalynn; great-great-grandmother of Jailyn; and 2 sisters, Lois Gaylord of Arizona and Betty (Wally) Radtke of Lombard.  Also survived by her daughter-in-law, Janet (John) Schraft-Gianatasio.

She was preceded in death by her father, the late Leonard Hedberg; her mother, the late Florence; her step-father, the late Leo Birr; her son, the late William; and her infant brother.

Charlotte was born January 4, 1924 in Chicago.  After her father died, her mother brought her to Lombard so they could live with relatives when she was three.  Her mother married Leo Birr, who then was her stepfather for many years until his death.  She attended Glenbard West High School and met Robert Schraft, who attended York High School.  Soon after graduating they married.  Charlene was their first child.  With WWII going on, Robert ended up in the Army and on his way to Japan.  After coming home, their next child was Robert, Jr. in 1946 and 10 years later, the late William.

Charlotte was an excellent mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.  She was very proud of all of them and loved her large collection of pictures and picture type items of each child.

She loved planning and preparing for the next family get together for a holiday or event.  Her Watergate salad and baked beans were often requested. A day shopping was a perfect day to her. The advertisements in the Sunday paper would be examined carefully every week.

Charlotte was a former member of the Republican Women’s Club.  She formerly lived at 212 W. St. Charles Road where she was active with her neighbors.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 14, with a Visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.  Interment Saturday afternoon at 2:30 PM (meet inside the gate) at Arlington Cemetery, Elmhurst.
