Janet A. Pikunas nee Wallace, age 81, of Lombard, died January 1 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.

Janet was the beloved wife of the late Edward, loving mother of Nadine and Roxanne and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine.

A Visitation will be held Friday, January 4, from 3-8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.  Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 5, with 9:30 AM Prayers at Brust Funeral Home to 10 AM Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard.  Interment will follow at St. Casimir Cemetery in Chicago.

Janet loved going to Sacred Heart and always looked forward to Sacred Heart German Fest for food and bingo.  She loved making Lithuanian goodies like bacon buns, cabbage pie and kugelis—she could never pass up sweet treats.  Janet loved shopping and could never pass up a good deal or a good sale.  She was a mastermind at garage sales and loved going to them.  A regular conversation with Nadine and Roxanne would be “Why did you get that?”  Mom would always say “It was on sale!”

Janet loved a good cocktail, an icy martini, southern manhattan and margaritas.  She loved playing card games after dinner and usually ended up winning.  She liked playing on her computer and reading the church bulletins.  Janet always kept a meticulous house and yard.  When she was younger, she always loved to stay out in the sunshine.

Janet always appreciated all of her friends who called and visited and helped her to get to church weekly.
