James A. Spear, age 96 of Glendale Heights

American_Flag_1_x1000James A. Spear, age 96 of Glendale Heights died March 14th.  He lived a long full life, passing peacefully in his sleep.

He left his home in Iowa when he joined the Navy in WWII, serving alongside many others in the Pacific Theatre. Upon his return from war, Jim settled in Lombard with his wife Loretta (deceased) where they raised their family.

He worked as a machinist before retiring to attend Joliet Junior College to study Agriculture, his lifelong dream. He then moved west to a new community where he spent many happy days enjoying his retirement in his new community among new friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 9:30am – 11:45am at Brust Funeral Home at 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Mass will be held at 12:15pm at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church at 330 N. Westmore Ave., Villa Park.
