David J. Wellehan, age 76, formerly of Lombard

WellehanAmerican_Flag_x300DAVID JAMES WELLEHAN, age 76, of Sevierville, Tennessee, formerly of Lombard, died July 30 at his home.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 2nd, from 3 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 3rd, with prayers at 10 AM from Brust Funeral Home, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard, for 10:30 AM Mass.

Interment will be at All Saint’s Cemetery, DesPlaines, Illinois.

Mr. Wellehan is survived by his loving wife, Patricia L., nee Treadway; his daughter, Tracy Janos of California; his son, David Joseph (Marsha Helland) Wellehan of Yorkville; three grandchildren, Laniney, Joshua, and Jax; his sister, Eileen Fugelseth of Round Lake; and many other relatives.

Mr. Wellehan is preceded in death by his step-son, Keith Sherrill of Chicago; and his parents, David and Helen Wellehan of Lombard.

Mr. Wellehan was formerly of Lombard and had served as the Village of Lombard Treasurer during the 1980’s.

Mr. Wellehan was a Veteran having served during the Viet Nam War.

Mr. Wellehan had retired 10 years ago from Professional Business Consultants.  He had been a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Lombard and also had served on the YMCA Board.  He was a resident of Lombard for 50 years before moving to Tennessee in 2014.

In Lieu of flowers, Memorials to the family would be appreciated.

    David was a great accountant and a caring friend. Our relationship with him was a definite plus in our lives. His kindness as a person and guidance in his professional capacity were second to none. May God reward him for all the good he did for so many people.

    Grandpa Dave was the best. His generosity and kindness knew no bounds. Not only is the family bereft of his passing, but so, too, is the world.

    Pat and Family, I am so sorry for your loss and sorry I never got to meet David in person. We were friends on facebook and I got to know him thru that. He was a precious man and loved his wife, Pat and family very much. We are praying for you.
