Vito A. Longo, age 76, of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Lombard

Vito A. Longo, age 76, of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Lombard, passed away Friday, July 3, 2020, with his loving kids by his side.

Vito was born in Chicago, IL, on July 27, 1943, the son of the late Carmen Longo and the late Antionette nee Marine. He graduated from St. Phillips High School in Chicago. Vito honorably served in the US Marine Corp, Air National Guard and retired from the US Army as Master Sergeant.

He was a longtime resident of Lombard.

Vito is survived his five loving children, Melissa (Jeffrey) Newman of West Chicago, Michael (Donna) Longo of Glen Ellyn, Linda (Randy) Kerns of Florida, Amy Perry of West Chicago, and Matthew (Susie) Longo of Glen Ellyn; his dear grandchildren, Tommy (Crystal), Zach, Sarah, Jessica, Andrea, Richard, Katie, Anthony, Courtney, Jenna, Aly, Gracie, and Joey; and two great-grandchildren, Rylee and Bryce.

Vito’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of St. Rose Hospital, Las Vegas, NV, for the wonderful care and compassion they provided to Vito.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, July 23rd, from 4 – 9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St, Lombard.

    With deepest sympathy to all the family of Vito Longo,we are so sorry for your lost. He was a friend and a father to us.we will miss him dearly. He was one great wheeler dealer with business if the deal was their he would make it..He had a heart of gold, and would give you his shirt off his back if you needed it..He love his family . Now let me say he made one of the best pizzas in the world when he used 5 or 6 DIFFERANT cheeses , and his pasta sauce was one of the best around. REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND AND FATHER .LOVE FROM ALL OF US THE BOEZIO’s

    It was with sincere sadness when we heard of the passing of Vito. His wit, friendliness and compassion was a hallmark that made him so unique. We will always cherish the memories we had with him and remember them with warm hearts.     Vito was a good friend. We were in the Army Reseve togather. He was a Company Firsdt Sergeanf and I was his Command Sergeant Major. When I got laid off form my job he gave me a job running his warehouse in San Carlo, CA. I loved working for him for 2 years. I have thought of Vito often. Semper fi, vito.

    Vito hired me at Electro Rent in the 80’s. He was a mentor and a friend. He along with others chose me to open up offices in Europe. We had some great times together and he will be missed by all who knew him.
