Lillian T. DeLaurie, age 86, of Lombard

Written by Brust Funeral Home on September 8th, 2020

Lillian T. DeLaurie of Lombard, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by her family September 2nd 2020, on her 86th birthday.

Growing up in Melrose Park, IL, Lillian loved working at Carmella’s Candy Store which was owned by her mother. She resigned from attending Immaculate Conception High School in Elmhurst, IL to care for her sickly mother while working at the Hostess factory in Schiller Park, and later at a punch press factory.

As a homemaker with her loving husband John, Lillian’s devotion to her family was shown in many ways.  Raising six children in a small ranch home in Lombard took a skillfulness and ability that she developed at a young age. The Sunday morning aromas of her famous Italian pasta sauce, learning how to play cards, and holiday gatherings are just a few of the sentiments that she bestowed to the senses and memories of her children.

Lillian and her husband shared their love of fishing throughout Wisconsin of which their favorite lake was Williams Bay, Lake Geneva.  They also enjoyed vacationing with family in Pompano Beach Florida.

Lillian is survived by her children; Joseph DeLaurie, Dorice DeLaurie, John and Nancy DeLaurie Jr., Angela and Michael Skala, Gabriel DeLaurie, Anthony DeLaurie and Regina March.  8 grandchildren.  8 great-grandchildren.  Predeceased by her Husband John DeLaurie, Sister Connie Sperandeo, and Brother Gabriel Iagulli.

Arrangements by Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
