John, my heart goes out to you and your family. Losing a loved one is one of the hardest things we have to do in life. I do remember the many times we spent together and the fun we enjoyed! You will always have her in your heart.

We will miss seeing Ann sitting on her deck watching her grandchildren swimming. Loving evey minute of it. Our deepest sympathy to you John and the kids. Ann was a wonderful women.

How I admired Ann….she could catch the fish, clean, fry and serve them (including the best side dishes) and then clean up the kitchen. And we all knew we were more than welcome at John and Anns any time!!! I know that her scalloped potatoes and candied sweet potatoes were the best I’d ever had! I don’t know anyone else who could crochet a huge dining table cloth, repair appliances, paint the room, fix the floor and then reupholster the sofa. I would call Ann when one of my appliances needed a minor repair and was always amazed when Ann came up with the solution over the phone. A few years ago, I asked her if the Ponds Cold Cream I saw on her dresser (about 1969) was her secret to gorgeous skin…she just laughed. Now I know it was just her naturally beautiful self.
Ann will be missed so much.

Bob and I send all of our love to John, Cindy and Kim,
    Judy

The Jochems’ house felt like my “other home” from 8th-12th grade, not to mention on Christmas day for almost 30 years – I always felt as welcomed there when I visited as I did in my own parents’ house. And even this week, as all the memories are running through my mind, so many of them include warmth and laughter.

Cindy, Kim and John, my thoughts are with you.

    Love,
    Rachel
