EILEEN M. HAPPEL, nee McKenna, age 94, of Lombard, died March 28 at Lexington Health Care, Lombard, Illinois.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 1 from 3 to 7 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.
Funeral Service will be Monday, April 2 with prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard, for 10 AM Mass.
Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery, Winfield, Illinois.
Mrs. Happel is survived by her son, Thomas P. of Lombard; her daughter, Kathleen H. (Kenneth) Naatz of Elmhurst; three grandchildren, Amy (James) Ryan of Lisle, Steven (Elizabeth) Naatz of St. Charles, and David (Nora Kelly) Naatz of Chicago; and four great-grandchildren, Bryce, Carson, Margie, and Morgan.
Mrs. Happel is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore ‘Ted’ H.; her parents, Thomas McKenna and Anna K., nee Knippen; her brother Arthur McKenna; and her sister, Helen Marie McKenna.
Mrs. Happel was a 1935 graduate of Glenbard West High School. Her mother was part of the Knippen family who were one of the original settlers and farmers in Lombard. Mrs. Happel was born in the farmhouse which her grandparents had built located at 563 Glen Oak in Lombard.
Mrs. Happel had been married at Sacred Heart Church and had been married for 30 years. She was a life-long member and active at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard. She had been a Secretary for Edwin Deicke in Lombard and Suburban Insurance in Wheaton.
