American FlagStarshakMarty P. Starshak, age 90, formerly of Lombard, died Dec. 27.
Visitation will be held Dec. 30, Monday, from 3 to 9 PM at Brust FuneraL Home, 135 S. Main St. Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday with prayers at 9:30AM at Brust Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Church for 10 AM Mass.
Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery.
Mr. Starshak is survived by his wife, Sue nee Olson; two sons, John (Peggy) of Winfield and Jerome; a daughter, Barbara Starshak of Glen Ellyn; a brother, Edward J. (Maureen) of Waukegan and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Starshak is preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ellen Adcock and Phyllis Jean Livengood.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials to Miserecordia would be appreciated.
Mr. Starshak was a graduate of Loyola University. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army during WWII and was a Radar Tech. and served in Canada. He was a resident of Lombard from 1941 to 1954 and 1958 to 2007. He was the owner of Starshak Enterprises in Lombard from 1965 to 2007. He was a member of the American Legion #391. He was a former member of Sacred Heart Church and Sacred Heart Holy Name Society. He was active with Miserecordia. He loved bowling and was known for his sense of humor and was a collector.

    Marty was one of a kind! He and Sue were great neighbors, always friendly and quick with a joke. He will be missed.

    Very sorry to hear of Marty’s passing. For some 30 years Marty, his wife and son, helped me with plaques, trophys and awards I arranged for the Lombard Jaycee Club and various bowling leagues. He was a friend and confidant. He will be missed.
