Betty L. Eissler nee Poggendorf, age 87, of Lombard, died March 8 at Sunrise, in Glen Ellen.

Visitation will be held Friday March 14 from 9:30 AM until time of prayers, 10:30 AM at Brust Funeral Home 135 S. Main St. Lombard to St. Pius X Church for 11 AM Mass.

Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.

Mrs. Eissler is survived by her husband of 68 years, Charles,  a son Mark (Laurie) of MI and two daughters, Holly K. (Jeffrey) Given of CA and Melanie (Thomas) Rottmann of Lombard; 6 grandchildren, Jonathan and Christie Eissler; Holly & Robert Rottmann and Caroline & Natalie Given.

Mrs. Eissler was a resident of Lombard since 1953. She worked as Secretary to the President at Charles A. Stevens. Mrs. Eissler also worked at Willowbrook High School and was a former volunteer secretary at St. Pius X Church. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and the Sweet Adelines Singing Group.

    I am very sorry for the recent loss of your loved one, Betty Eissler neePoggendorf. I have a brief encouraging message I would be pleased to share with you from God’s Word, the Bible. The Bible can be a great source of both comfort and hope during this most difficult time in your lives. For an example, at Revelation 21:3-5 it assures us that the day is soon coming when our most loving Heavenly Father is going to wipe away the tears of sorrow from our eyes forever and that even death will be no more. I hope after reading this it will be of some comfort to each one of you.
