Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 9 at 11 AM at the First Church of Lombard, 220 South Main Street, Lombard.Visitation will be held Saturday, August 9 from 10 to 11 AM at First Church of Lombard.

Mr. Meyer is survived by his wife, Betty, nee Caldwell; three children, Melinda Meyer of Naperville, Mark C. (Stacy) Meyer of Warrenville, and Melissa (Rick) Hennessy of Lombard; four grandchildren, Rachel (Reid A.) Foltyniewicz of Lombard, Lauren Hennessy of Lombard, Stephanie Meyer of Utah, and Kelly Meyer of Warrenville; two great-grandchildren, Reid F. and Ryder Foltyniewicz of Lombard; his brother Norman of Bartlett; and 5 nieces and nephews.

Mr. Meyer was a life-long resident of Lombard.  He was a graduate of Lincoln School in 1940 and Glenbard High School in 1944.  Mr. Meyer was a graduate of North Central College and received his MBA from the University of Chicago.

Mr. Meyer was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific.

He had retired from Jewel Food Stores in 1985.  Mr. Meyer was a former Trustee for the Village of Lombard from 1961 to 1977.  He was the Lombard Man of the Year in 1972 and was the Senior Citizen of the Year in 2011.  Mr. Meyer was a member of the First Church of Lombard since 1940.  He was a member of the Maple Street Chapel Preservation Society.

Mr. Meyer had celebrated 61 years of Marriage.

Mr. Meyer was a Charter Member of the Lombard Jaycees.  Along with Jack Brust and others, Marlyn was one of the founders of the Lombard YMCA.  He had served on the Lombard Police and Fire Commission.  Mr. Meyer served on the Board for Life Link for 10 years and was President in 1995.
