Katherine ‘Kay’ L. Lanis, nee Morgan, age 84, of Lombard, died

September 22, at Sunrise Assisted Living, Bloomingdale, IL.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 26, from 3 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main, Lombard.  Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 27, with prayers at 9:30AM at Brust Funeral Home to St. Pius X Church for 10 A.M. Mass.  Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.

Mrs. Lanis is survived by six children, Robert (Terrie) Lanis of Elmhurst, Thomas (Charlee) Lanis of Oklahoma, Mary Kay Lanis of Villa Park, Kenneth (Barbara) Lanis of Bartlett, Paul (Lisa) Lanis of Caledonia, IL                   and Richard (Jodi) of Chicago; 11 grandchildren, Jordi (Bret) Melton, Alex, Cristin, Dennis, Casey, Caitlin, Nolan, Jessica, Morgan, Katera and Riley.

Mrs. Lanis is preceded in death by her husband Anthony (Tom), a brother, Bill Morgan and a sister, Audrey Huber.

Mrs. Lanis was born in Pittsburgh to Winifred (Byrne) and George  Morgan. She graduated from Duquesne University and was a Registered Nurse at various hospitals and nursing homes throughout her career. She and her husband Tom, relocated to Lombard, IL. where she was a devoted member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She volunteered at church and gave much time to St. Vincent dePaul Society. She enjoyed having family gatherings and she and Tom were known for having an open house for any and all to join them for holidays.
