James E. Kokines, age 88, of Lombard, passed away April 24, 2017.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 30, from 3 – 9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Funeral Services will be Monday, May 1st, with prayers at 9:30 AM from Brust Funeral Home to St. Pius X Church, 1025 E. Madison, Lombard, for 10 AM Mass. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Frances nee Lo Casho; his loving children, James (Karen), Victoria Walker, Linda (Jonathon) Zarych; his brother William “Bill”  (Pat); his sister, Esther (Gene) Leszczynski; and his dear grandchildren, Samantha Kokines and Alexis Kokines; many nieces and nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his sisters, Katherine Klees and Penelope Marzolph; and his brothers, Constantine “Gus” and George.

Jim was an Army Veteran who served in WWII and the Korean War. Jim and Fran were happily married for 60 years. He was a longtime member and the Chaplain for VFW 5815. Jim and Fran were part of the Lilac Parade for several years. They enjoyed riding in the golf carts while representing the VFW.
