SimkowskiAmerican FlagDANIEL T. SIMKOWSKI, age 71, USMC Vietnam Veteran, of Wisconsin, formerly of Chicago. Beloved husband of Elaine M., nee Bellock. Loving father of Jasper (Bridget) Simkowski of Elmhurst, Thomas (Laura) Pulice of Casa Mesa, CA, Zac (Cathy) Simkowski of Kildeer, Illinois, and the late Darren. Loving grandfather of Daniel, Alex, Bryton, Andrew, Morgan, and Kevin. Dear brother of David (Debbie) of Valparaiso, Indiana, and the late Marvin. Son-in-law of Bessie and the late Harry Bellock of Lombard.  Many other relatives, in-laws, and friends.

Mr. Simkowski was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Marines in the Vietnam War.  He was exposed to Agent Orange there.  He was a graduate of St. Patrick High School in Chicago, received his B.A. from Loyola, and earned his MBA from Lake Forest College.  Mr. Simkowski had retired from Leica optics as Vice President.  He enjoyed Judo, woodworking, and planting trees.  Mr. Simkowski was a lifetime environmentalist and was very supportive of National Arbor Day.  He was a 3rd Degree Black Belt and member of CJBBA (Judo Association).

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 7th from 3 to 9 PM, with Military Honors at 8:45 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.  Interment Private.

Memorials to Nature Conservancy, 8 South Michigan Avenue, Number 900, Chicago, Illinois 60603 OR Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Avenue, Nebraska City, Nebraska 68410 would be appreciated.
