GLENN H. ANDERSON, age 77, Veteran U.S. Army, of Lombard

AndersonAmerican FlagGlenn H. Anderson, 77, of Lombard died May 14, 2017.  He is survived by his wife, Carol; children Tracy Lapshin and Thomas (Jennifer); grandchildren Jack, Nicholas and Paige; a brother, Dean (JoAnn), and nieces.

Mr. Anderson was a graduate of Iowa State University and served two years in the U.S. Army Artillery and, later, Army Reserve retiring as a Captain. He worked in several manufacturing positions before managing Dairy Queen Stores in Lombard and Wheaton.  He enjoyed customizing cars, woodworking, traveling, racquetball and gardening.   Retirement included boating in the Bahamas, and from Florida going up the East Coast to the Great Lakes, Mississippi River and back to Florida.  He also served as a volunteer for the DuPage County Police.  His dry sense of humor and even temper will be missed by all who loved him.

Memorial visitation Wednesday, 4-8 pm, Brust Funeral Home, 135 So. Main St. Lombard with prayers at 7 pm.  Interment private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
