Harry James May, 90, of Lombard

Harry James May, 90, of Lombard, died peacefully after a brief illness, on November 8, 2017.  He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Susan nee Blackwell.  Also by his siblings Alfred, Lewis and Betty.  He is survived by his devoted children, Steven May (Jane), Pamela Schweikle, Susan May and Caroline (Scott).  He also leaves grandchildren Christopher, Amy, Meredith, Adam and Steven and great-grandchildren Maddie, Lindsey, Owen, Andie, Vivien and Claudia.  Also surviving is sister, Sonia Stetzer and sister-in-law, Doreen May.  He leaves behind many nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his long-time companion, Vera Bisceglie, and her children.

Harry was born in Surrey, England, in 1926.  He met his wife in South Wales after being drafted into the coal mines as a “Bevin Boy”.  They immigrated to the United States in 1954, settling in Lombard, where he has resided ever since.  Harry owned his own manufacturing business in Addison from 1974 until his retirement in 2014 at age 88.
