Farrell2Maureen passed away peacefully after a long bout with cancer. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Robert (Bob) and Jacqueline (Jackie). She is survived by her loving brothers, Jerry and John, her nephew Rich, two nieces Kelly and Natalie, and Sister-in-law Joyce.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, from 10 am to 1 pm at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. This will be followed by a luncheon to celebrate Maureen’s life; please let John know if you will attend the luncheon.

Interment will be private, attended by family at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.

Maureen was born in Chicago in 1957. She relocated to Carpentersville in 1968 and then Dundee in 1988 before settling in Lombard in 1998. Maureen received business degrees from Northern Illinois in DeKalb and Roosevelt University in Chicago before embarking on a career as a paralegal that spanned 30 years. She attained the prestigious title of Senior Corporate Paralegal at one of the largest corporate law firms in the world. Along the way she touched many lives making scores of lifelong friends. She garnered the respect and admiration of many more throughout both the legal and corporate communities.

Maureen’s passion in life outside of work was travel. She began by traveling to many locations throughout the U.S. Eventually she would begin to travel the world, visiting over 20 different countries.

    It’s still hard to believe she’s gone. She had such energy, and passion, for life. She will be missed by many.
