BruckAmerican_Flag_x300Ronald E. Bruck, age 74, of Lombard, passed away May 24, 2018.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Thursday, June 7, from 4 – 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 8, with 9:30 AM prayers from Brust Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Church for a 10 AM Memorial Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Ginny nee Graff; his loving children, Stephen and Eric (Faith); his cherished grandchildren, Madison and Cali; his dear siblings, Larry and Nancy Payne; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Ron Bruck was predeceased by his parents Henry and Lucille Bruck and his daughter Michelle.

Ron was an upstanding, long time member of the Lombard community.  He was the first athlete from Glenbard East High School to make the IHSA state competition in wrestling in 1961.  He proudly served in the United States Army from 1965-1967 after being drafted.  He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1999 after more than 30 years delivering mail to the residents of Wheaton and Glen Ellyn.  Ron faithfully attended Sacred Heart Church as a loyal parishioner.  He enjoyed volunteering as a baseball coach for the Lombard Boys League for 15 years, teaching and encouraging dozens of players.  Ron also served his community by selflessly donating blood whenever he could.  He was a lifelong Chicago White Sox and Blackhawks fan and a long time Kane County Cougars fan. Ron loved his family more than anything, and he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, in-law, and friend.  He will be greatly missed.

    Cedar Island will never be the same without Ron. He brought smiles every day. Ron was so cheerful and made everyone laugh. May you REST IN PEACE. Our deepest sympathies to his family.
