Ronald F. Rumatz, age 81, of Lombard

Rumatz, age 81, of Lombard, died September 24 at Good Samaritan Hospital.  Ron was the beloved husband of Eileen J. nee Richter; loving father of Matthew (Misty) of Texas, Amalia (Robert) Sloan of Shorewood and Timothy (Christine) of Woodridge; grandfather of Theo, Jackson, Maddie, Sophie and Hudson; and dear brother of the late Warren.

Services will be held Thursday, September 27, with Ron Lying-in-State from 10:00 until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln, Lombard.  A Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.  Interment private at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.

Ron was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp Reserve.  He had lived in Lombard since 1967.  Ron graduated from Gage High School in Chicago. He was a printer and retired from Album Graphics Inc.  Ron was a longtime member and Elder at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, where he was a member of the “B” Dart Team and the Saturday Night Bible Class.  He was an avid fisherman.  He was also an Eagle Scout.  He loved church, family and fishing.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church would be appreciated.

    Great guy,proud to be his friend.
    I’ve only known Ron for a few years but he made a great impression,we have the same interests and are much alike.
    Ron’s life stories and old fashion values are to be cherished.
    My heart goes out to Eileen and his grieving family.
    Rest in peace Ron. Save me a spot on the boat,’till we meet again.
