Passed away surrounded by her immediate family, including the family of Arden Courts staff in Glen Ellyn Illinois, where she resided her last year, living and loving life.

Lydia was a devoted wife to Ted, loving mother of Terry (Alice), and grandchildren, Shari (Shawn) and Michael (Eva) and great granddaughter Sarah (Shari/Shawn). Lydia loved and lived for her family.

Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy and brothers, Ernest, Rudy, William and Arthur.

Funeral services for immediate family only will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Interment at St. Lucas Cemetery, Chicago.

 

Norman Bourdage, age 92, of West Chicago

Bourdage, NormanNorman Bourdage, age 92, of West Chicago, passed away January 29, 2019.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Friday, February 8th from 4 – 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, February 9th at 10 AM at St. Pius X Church, 1025 E. Madison St, Lombard. Interment will take place later at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Norman grew up and graduated from Mooseheart. He served in the Navy’s Seabee Construction Battalion during WWII in Okinawa. He lived in many places around the New England area before settling down in Lombard in the early 50’s.

Norman built the home that he and his 1st wife raised their 2 daughters. He enjoyed woodworking where he made redwood canoes and various furniture items. Norman started out as a stone carver and had his own concrete business. He had a long career in construction management.

When he retired, he opened a stained glass store in Lombard which started out as a hobby but quickly turned into a second profession. He instilled the love of glass to his daughter, granddaughter and countless others around the Chicagoland area.

After retiring for the second time at age 80, he went back to woodworking. He made many beautiful tables and other wonderful items. At age 89, he found a new art form to love; scroll saw woodworking.

In his free time he enjoyed puzzles and Sudoku.

Wherever you found Norman, you would find his dog Koko, always by his side.

Norman is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Anderson); his daughters Debra McDonald and Mary Noel Terrance; his stepsons Richard M. Fielding (Beth) and Eric L. Fielding (Gina); 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Proceeded in death are his parents Placide and Philomene; his 4 brothers, Robert, Sylvio, Richard and Lionel and his stepsister Lillian; his first wife Barbara and his sons-in-law Patrick and Terry.

Frank Viscariello, age 79, of Lombard

Frank had been a long time resident of Lombard for 59 years. He grew up in Chicago, Il with his parents and younger brother.

He attended Holy Trinity HS. Frank worked at Continental Bank in 1957 in Chicago, where he met and worked with Beverly (nee) Mertz of Lombard. They were married on August 19, 1961, and had two daughters, Cathy and Cindy.

Frank was a Postal Carrier at the Lombard Post Office for 31 years and at the same time a part time Park District Police Officer for 5 years.  Frank will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Beverly (nee) Mertz, his two daughters Cathy (Mike Atkins), Cindy (Steve and Sabrina), 3 Grandchildren, Jessica, Sara and Michael Atkins. Younger brother Alan (Nancy) Viscariello, many sister/brother in laws, nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth (nee Krol) and his father, Frank Viscariello.

A Visitation will be held at Brust Funeral Home 135 S. Main Street, Lombard, on Friday, February 8th from 11 – 1 pm with a Celebration of Life service at 1pm.  Interment will be private for family only.

Stefan Pajak, age 80, of Berwyn (Stefan Pająk, lat 80, z Berwyn)

PajakStefan Pajak, age 80, of Berwyn died on January 31, 2019, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Stefan grew up in Poland with four brothers and one sister. He spent his childhood during World War II. He married the love of his live, Genowefa Wieslawa Pajak (nee Lipka) when they were both 22 years old. He obtained his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. He spent his life working and providing for his family in the communist Poland and later as an immigrant in the USA. He took each project head-on and was successful at anything he set his mind to.

Stefan was the beloved father of Piotr (Malgorzata) Pajak of Berlin, Germany, Margaret (Daniel) Labno of Medinah, IL and Arthur (Kinga) Pajak of Wheaton, IL.  He was the cherished “dziadzia” of Philipp (Alejandra), Laura, Carolyn, Alex, Matthew and Justine. 

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2:00-6:00pm at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Mass at Divine Mercy Church at 21W411 Sunset Ave, Lombard on Monday, February 11 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton.

Stefan Pająk, lat 80, z Berwyn zmarł 31 stycznia 2019 roku, po długiej walce z chorobą Parkinsona.

Stefan wychował sie w Polsce w rodzinie wielodzietnej – miał czterech braci i jedną siostrę. Spędził dzieciństwo w czasie II Wojny Światowej. Ożenił się z miłością swojego życia, Genowefą Wiesławą Pająk (z domu Lipka), gdy oboje mieli 22 lata. Ukończył Politechnike Wrocławską jako inżynier mechanik. Przez całe życie pracował i utrzymywał rodzinę w komunistycznej Polsce, a później jako emigrant w USA. Nie bał sie żadnego projektu i odnosił sukcesy we wszystkim, za co sie zabrał.

Stefan był ukochanym ojcem Piotra (Małgorzata) Pająk z Berlina, Niemiec, Małgorzaty (Daniel) Łabno z Medinah, IL i Artura (Kinga) Pająk z Wheaton, IL.  Był drogim “dziadzią” Filipa (Alejandra), Laury, Carolyn, Alex, Matthew i Justine. 

Wizytacja odbędzie się w niedzielę, 10 lutego, w godzinach od 14:00 do 18:00 w Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Msza w kościele Bożego Miłosierdzia przy 21W411 Sunset Ave, Lombard, 11 lutego o godzinie 10:00. Pogrzeb bedzie po mszy na cmentarzu Assumption, Wheaton.

Rachel Anne Frese nee Schultz, age 77, of Lombard

Rachel was the beloved wife of Paul M for 52 years; loving mother of Elizabeth (Michael) Sawyer of Minneapolis, MN, Jonathan (Mary) of Deerfield, IL and James (Laura) of St. Paul, MN; adored grandmother of Adam Sawyer, Mikkel Sawyer, Erik Sawyer, Greta Frese, Elinor Frese, Noah Frese and Elijah Frese; sister of Ruth Treichel, Mark Schultz and Stephen Schultz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Frank and Elsie (nee Klinckerman) Schultz; 3 sisters, Mary Zimmerman, Janet Moll and Rebecca Levesque and a brother, David Schultz.

A Visitation will be held Sunday, February 3, from 1-7 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.  Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 4, with Mrs. Frese Lying-In-State from 9:30 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:30 AM at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln St., Lombard.  Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Glen Ellyn.

Rachel was born in Galesburg, Illinois.  She was Confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dubuque, Iowa.  She attended school in Dubuque, Hubbard and Eldora, Iowa, and graduated from Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska.

Rachel taught in Lutheran Schools in Flint, Michigan, Rock Island and Melrose Park, Illinois.  She worked as a teacher’s Aide in School Districts 44, 48 and 88 (at Willowbrook High School.)  Rachel was the organist at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Lombard, for 30 years (from 1989-2019.)  She celebrated her 30th anniversary there on January 6, 2019.

Rachel was a faithful choir member at St. John’s and Trinity Lutheran churches.  She was a FHP volunteer pianist at Lombard Place and a volunteer at Deicke Home.

Rachel was a devoted wife and a caring, loving mother.  She had a strong faith in her Lord Jesus Christ and was determined to live a life of service in spite of her 24 year battle with various cancers.

She had a broken body but not a broken spirit.

Billy was the loving brother of Linda (the late James) Ostien, Laurie (Kevin) Wallace, Lianne (Robert) Jaworski, Lisa (Steve) Davey, Michael (Maricor) and John (Pam); uncle of 14; and great-uncle of 4.

A Visitation will be held Friday, February 1, from 3-8 PM at Brust funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.   Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 2, with 11:30 AM Prayers at Brust Funeral Home to 12:15 PM Mass at St. Alexander Catholic Church.  Interment is private.

Billy had lived in Villa Park for 1 year and had formerly been a 57 year resident of Lombard.  He attended Ben Franklin Grade School, Jefferson Junior High and Willowbrook High School.

Billy made his First Communion and Confirmation at St. Alexander Catholic Church.  He enjoyed swimming and fishing.

George Allen Raetzke, age 78, of Lombard

raetzkeAmerican_Flag_1_x1000It is with great sadness that the family of George Allen Raetzke announces his peaceful passing in his home after a tireless fight against cancer. George calmly returned to our Lord on Friday, January 25, 2019, at the age of 78 years.

George will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 23 years, Yvonne. George is also survived by: his daughter, Deborah Henson (Kenny), George Alan (Beth), stepdaughters Lisa Kress (Jim), Deborah (Bob Bannon) Smart, Jennifer (Ken Piton) Abanero, and Heather Mages (Jay). George will also be fondly remembered by his fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

George was preceded in death by: his father, George Albert, mother Florence nee’ Burkhardt, and two brothers, Ralph and Richard.

The sole proprietor of George A. Raetzke Accounting and Tax Service for over forty years, he was also an active member of: the Lombard Businessmen’s Association, Lombard Jaycees, Lions Club International, V.F.W. Post 5815, VietNow, American Legion, and the Illinois Association of Enrolled Agents (IAEI).

A wake for those who wish to pay their respects will be held at the Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard, Illinois from 3:00-9:00 p.m. on Thursday January 31, 2019. A Funeral Service in memory of George will be held on Friday, February1, 2019, lying in state from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with services beginning at 11:00 a.m., at St. John Lutheran Church, 410 N. Cross Street, Wheaton, Illinois, with Rev. Dr. Scott A. Bruzek officiating. A private interment will follow in a family plot at Memory Gardens Cemetery In Arlington Heights.

David Michael Bullard, age 58, of Villa Park

Bullard, DavidDavid Michael Bullard, age 58, of Villa Park, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019 after battling stage 4 lung cancer.

David is survived by a son, Christopher Blair (Stacie) and their two children of Mechanicville, NY; 2 Step-Children, Josh and Shelby Zigman of Villa Park, IL; 3 brothers, Bart ( Darlene) Galligan of North Greenbush, NY, Gary Bullard of Troy, NY and Jerry Bullard of Caseyville, IL; 4 sisters, Jody Bullard of Watervliet, NY, Maryann (Joe) Light of Halfmoon, NY, Robin Bullard Nichols of Watervliet, NY and Michealeen (Phil) Brown of East Greenbush, NY; a “sister in law”, Pam Reese–Karuhn and her family of Villa Park, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

David was pre-deceased by the love of his life, Mary Reese of Villa Park, IL; his mother, Helen Cooncradt–Levic of Troy, NY; his father, Robert Bullard of Troy, NY; and his brother, Robert Galligan of Troy, NY.

David was born in Troy, NY, On December 23rd 1960. He graduated from Troy High School and later joined the US Army. David who was always a hard worker, often working 2 jobs at a time, was previously employed by Roxy Cleaners and Stewarts prior to becoming disabled due to MS.

David’s second love in life (next to his sweetheart Mary) was his rescue dog, Shiloh. David was a New York Giants Fans as well as enjoyed watching professional wrestling. David filled his time playing cards, online games, and he loved his Crossword scratch offs. In the summer David enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden.

A small AND private memorial service will be held in David’s honor both in NY and Chicago at a later date /time.

Beloved husband and best friend of Jeanne (nee VanValkenburgh) Leverence; loving father of Jeanne (Tom) Waliczek, Dr. Robert (Catherine) Leverence and Leian Wunderlich; proud grandfather of Robert and Jennifer Leverence; brother of George Jr. (Marge), Leonard (Cathy), Thomas (Betty) and the late Richard; Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents George Sr. and Frances (nee Cebulski) Leverence.

After his discharge from the Air Force, Bob held a variety of management positions. He retired from Metal Improvement Co. (Curtiss Wright) as a regional manager responsible for five facilities.
